Can someone tell me how to stop the output of this code from placing a page break after it finds the selection.It's placing a blank page at the beginning and end of every printout.I suspect it has to do with the insert.break method, but cannot figure out what needs to be changed. [code]

I'm using Report Viewer(VS 2008) to make a report in VB.net. I add Table with Table Header, Table Detail, and Table Footer. Then insert a Table Group(table1_group1) and add expression =IntRowNumber Nothing-1/10 on that group. I check page breaks at end.
When I load the report its show normal :
page 1 : page header+ table header + table detail(10 list data) + page footer
page 2 : page header+ table header + table detail(5 list data) + table footer + page footer
But when I click Print Layout Icon its show an extra page(page 3):
page 1 : page header+ table header + table detail(10 list data) + page footer
page 2 : page header+ table header + table detail(5 list data) + page footer
page 3 : page header + table footer + page footer ( this is the error)
I also try to print the report and its print 3 page.

View 5 RepliesI have some code that I've inherited, and it's not the greatest in the world, but it works, with one small exception:
This page is a directory search, it has controls identified by record ID, however there exists a situation where there can be more than one result with the same record ID, thus making .NET barf. I had originally implemented a check that just didn't put the control on the page, if it was already there, but we've been getting negative feedback.
My question is this: Is there a way to put the same control in two places at once, for instance having if a user checks one, the corresponding one checks as well? I'm not terribly well versed in how .NET behaves, but I'll try to provide as much additional context as possible, if needed.

I know this is a terrible way to do this, at least from my background, but like I said, this is inherited code that's been hacked to pieces.
Using your RichTextBoxPrintCtrl class, is there a way to set a Page Break? Could code be added that if a certain string of characters were detected, A Page Break would be sent by the class?

Is there any way to embed something into my page buffer so that it will force a page break?

One of the named ranges is a notes section that gets cut off (not visible nor gets printed) if it extends beyond a page break. I have basic text report (.txt) that is created by a custom application. My client would like it to page break at a certain spot.
Does anyone have a routine that would allow me to insert PCL code into the file so that when printed it page breaks? I'd search for certain text and then insert the codes just prior to the text.
Certainly if someone has a better "mousetrap" then let me know.

View 3 RepliesI'm using Visual Studio 2005 and writing in VB.NET.I have a subreport in a Crystal Reports report consisting of a list of log entries. Sometimes the list of log entries is long enough that it would extend onto the next page. What I see happening is that the list appears on the next page, leaving a big blank space at the bottom of the first page.
I've tried unchecking the "Keep Together" boxes in the "Experts" in a number of different places (sections, groups, etc.) but see no change in the output.I'm guessing that this isn't the right way to go, but do you know what is?

The problem is, if the data in the for each loop extends to next page, I want the entire data in for loop to move to next page. I think of adding a page count integer and verify it with starting and ending to determine and change the page.The problem is I dont know how to insert a page break at a specified line number. page break is Word.WdBreakType.wdPageBreak but how to insert it at a line number?

Now the pagebreak code executes but it does nothing. Its almost as if it is being ignored. Also I have heard that using Microsoft.Office.Interop is not a good idea as it is slow and unstable.
I've been making a scheduling program using the calendar object.I can manage to select any date with a single click with a message box pop up entering a memo for the date selected. After pressing ok, the memo is displayed in a list box, with date.
1.Unfortunately the date is being displayed twice - perhaps because i used .selectedrange in the handler ? i would like it to be listed only once
2. the memo comes up on a separate line, ideally id like it to be displayed on the same line as the date.i tried ListBox1.Items.Add(whendate, memo) but it cant compile, so ive had to put each line in seperately
3. I would like to mark the sundays and national holidays in red color (the calendar is only set for a year so i dont mind doing them by hand, however the only tool i can find in the Monthcalendar1 properties is MonthlyBoldedDates, and no color assignment [code]

I am using datarepeater to display rows of information from database. When i click a 'save' button and i would like to loop through the rows of data in repeater. The code i am using is able to do all these. The only problem i encountered is at the Interface side. When i am looping the data-repeater. The selection 'frame' (refer to the picture point as 'A') is moving from record to the next record and scrollbar is auto moving as well to scroll to further down until the last row where looping finish.Is there anything can be done to remove the selection 'frame' and stop datarepeater from scrolling while looping the datarepeater.
View 8 RepliesI created a small vb.net console app in visual studio 2008 trying to learn .net but my results show differently when I break in the code and press F11 to step through. If I do it this way, the results I expect to get show but if I don't break into the code the results aren't what I'm expecting.
Basically everytime I click a button i want to write four numbers that are random. If I break into the code, these show random numbers i.e. 1 3 4 3 but if i don't break into the code. my numbers are all the same i.e.1 1 1 1.
