On another note I am not even sure why this is working since my column value is in string format, i thought it would need to be in some form of integer value to compute?
I am using xml reader to read an xml file into a dataset and and then create some dataviews and bindingsources for binding combo and text boxes as such:
Dim folderName As String Dim xmlFile As XmlReader Dim ds As New DataSet()
[code]....
I don't know how to do the same thing I am trying something like:
I wrote a small program in VB.NET to export data from DataGrid to Excel and it works perfectly. My manager now wants me to display the data in a presentable format. How should I go about it. I recorded a macro but was unable to apply that in vb.net.
I have a program that loads this XML in. XML <menu> <game name="16-9 Back to the Future"> <description>Back to the Future (Data East 1990)</description> <manufacturer>Data East</manufacturer> <year>1990</year> <type>SS</type> [Code] ..... So I have other parts that can Add a new game, erase a game and so on. Now if you look at the XML how can I make it Alphabetically sort each table by the descriptions...?
I am using Visual Web Developer 2008 Express and making a Webform. I want to arrange my labels and drop down listboxes in a table to keep them together on the form in a neatly manner. If I use the 'ToolBox' on the side and drag a HTML table to the workspace I get a nicely formatted table with 3 rows and 3 columns. And I can drag and drop my labels/listboxes into these columns and all is fine and good.
If I use the 'ToolBox' and drag a ASP.Net table to the workspace it starts as just a boarder with '###' inside of it, which I cannot drap and drop controls into. I'm not sure how to place controls into it. I figured out that you can add the Rows - then Columns in the properties window, but that just adds more cells which have the '###' in them. I can make it work with the HTML table, but I just want to know if I can do the same with the ASP.net table.
Are there standard controls for formatting, which I can add to the form or the toolbar? I mean font selector, text size selector, bold button, and so on. OR do I have to create them myself. If they are standard,l how do I add them? I can't find any such thing in the toolbox.
are two issues i need to work now in regards to outlook automation.1] text formatting in mail body (eg bold, changing font...etc)2] how to by pass the security prompt "A program is trying to access..."3] add mail disclaimer for every mail generated through vba.
I have a datetime field in a SQL Server 2005 table that has values like this:2012-04-23 09:00:00.0002012-04-23 14:00:00.000The minutes, seconds, and microseconds are always zero.I need to display a "time slot" (basically, the time plus one hour) like this:
2012/04/23 09:00 AM - 10:00 AM 2012/04/23 02:00 PM - 03:00 PM
I am getting instances of SQL server installed on the machine and throwing them into a combobox. This works like a charm but they are showing in lowercase letters. I would like to change this to uppercase instead.I am trying to format the text when I use .Items.Add.
As an example:vb .Items.Add(Format(rs.ServerInstance, .Text.ToUpper))
I do not get any errors, but the items are not changing from lowercase to uppercase. Any suggestions?
I have two RichTextBoxes, each of which can have any sort of formatting. I need to be able to take the rich text from box 2, complete with formatting, and add it to the end of box 1, preserving the formatting of both box 1 and the appended rich text.
I've not managed to find anything usefull on this anywhere apart from hints pointing to manually re-building the RTF codes for the result (but no actual VB / C# / C code to perform this or similar).
I have some VB .NET software that interfaces to a load of old (but sound) COM objects. The VB provides a GUI for the COM objects, part of which consists of setting various options on the COM objects - several of which relate to string formatting.I have a simple pair of VB .NET functions that convert basic %f, %d, %g formats to/from .NET equivalents using a large select case covering specific common strings, but they don't cover all formats.[code]Before I start diving in and making it more versatile with some parsing, does anyone know of a class (eg VB or C# .NET) that provides a decent ready-made implementation? Or perhaps some regexp wizadry could be used?
have made the data table in vb code, and it works flawlessly. It gets its values from labels which are part of a calculation. It shows the information to the user in a datagridview. Now i would like it to add new rows and fill them in if the user has already entered the data once and it has been logged in the datagridview.here is the current
'DATA TABLE Dim Table1 As DataTable Table1 = New DataTable("CF Log")
Currently i am able to compute MI (Maintainability Index) at a VB Method and VB Function Level. I would like to know how this can be rolled up to the application level?
I have a Database named CarsType.accdb there are four fields in the data base Item_Name, Item_Num, Item_Qty, Item_Cost.
I am able to get the database to display my data in VisualBasic but I am not sure how to get the total cost to appear in my label (lblTotalCost). I prefer doing it in VB versus writing in my access program. All I am wanting to do it multiply item_qty * Item_Cost How would I go about doing that?[code]...
I need to round the result from compute.8/19, how can i round this result to two decimal. Is there any symbol i can use for compute function to recognize the rounding format, because not must be two decimal, sometime may one or in integer?
I've created a DataSet with DataTable and I'm adding values of DataRow - Zvodp [m] in a For loop. Data type of this column is Double. When I want to use Compute method like this:
In fact i want to list in grid the table A with a column which contains a checkbox and is checked if the item is include in table B (field TableA_Id_A).

My assignment is to compute commission for a stockbroker within the following parameters: Commission for stock =< $50.00 = 0.19 base per share; for stock >$50.00 = 0.26 base per share If number of shares is =< 150 then commission rate is 1.5 * base per share. [code] Did I mention that I am an extremely new user to VB?
