VS 2005 Formatting ComboBox Items From Lowercase To Uppercase?
Jan 16, 2011
I am getting instances of SQL server installed on the machine and throwing them into a combobox. This works like a charm but they are showing in lowercase letters. I would like to change this to uppercase instead.I am trying to format the text when I use .Items.Add.
As an example:vb .Items.Add(Format(rs.ServerInstance, .Text.ToUpper))
I do not get any errors, but the items are not changing from lowercase to uppercase. Any suggestions?
I want to replace words in a string but some words look like this "HeLlO". Is it possible to ignore if it's uppercase or lowercase and just replace the word anyway?
I am trying to write a regular expression string match in vb.net. The condition that I am trying to implement is that the string should contain only alphabets and must contain atleast one letter of both lower and upper case. i.e AAA-fail, aaa-fail, aAaA-pass.
The regular expression that I have come up with is ^(([a-z]+[A-Z]+)+|([A-Z]+[a-z]+)+)$
How do I get the other values of the selected item of the combobox so that I can save it to my table? This in my function Using cmdTeachers As New SqlCommand("SELECT TeacherID, Teacher, Dept " & _ "FROM tblTeacherFile " & _ "WHERE Dept = 'HS' ", cnn)
And I have this on formload Me.TeacherBindingSource.DataSource = Me.GetTeachers() Me.TeachCombo.DisplayMember = "Teacher" Me.TeachCombo.ValueMember = "Teacher" Me.TeachCombo.DataSource = Me.TeacherBindingSource
I am not sure I am even asking this question correctly, but what I am looking to do is re-center a google map based on an address obviously. I currently have a map that displays one property and six nearby other propertys the center is based on the one property. I want to give the user the choice of re-centering the map based on one of the six nearby propertys whose address is stored in a textbox.
I am not sure what I am doing with this and need some direction. I have attempted to create a stored procedure in SQL Server 2005 called proc_GetPrefixes with the following content
USE [CRM] GO ALTER PROCEDURE [dbo].[proc_GetPrefixes]
[Code].....
The stored procedure is supposed to get all the records and what I want to do with the result set is to add all the items to a combobox. I have started off with the following and not sure where to go with this:
I have created a class called 'MyAddress' and in the form load event i am adding few objects of that class to the combobox. I want to know how should i set and read the values of the member variables of that selected item of the combobox. I have tried this and is working, but i am not sure whether it is the way to do
vb Private Sub Form1_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load
how to Make Uppercase only the first letter and the rest are small.i found a lot of code here but i don't have clear to want i need [code]it work but the cursor is always move before the letter, result are user has difficulties when typing because it always move to before the first
On the form load event i want to populate my ComboBox1 to display unique items directly from the DB. For that i have set the DataSource property of the ComboBox1 to the selected field. On the ComboBox1_SelectionChangeCommitted event i have set the filter for the DataSource which is working fine.
Now when i select an item from the ComboBox1 i get the filtered result in DataGridView but when i again drop down the combobox i see nothing other than the last selected item. Why is this happening? Is there a better way of populating ComboBox with the items directly from DB with default selected value as null?
I added a few items in the combobox dropdown list at the form load event. [code] At the runtime I dont want to allow the user to write something in the combobox as a text. The user can only select an item from the dropdown list of the combobox.
I am using VB.NET together with ADO.NET to create a program. I have set my TableAdapters as needed and bound the correct tables-columns to my comboboxes. My problem though is this:My combobox2 item is bound to a datatable. The table adapter's Fill method (the select command basicaly) includes a public variable in the where clause to fetch the correct results. I ll put some code here to clarify it a bit more.Public Class Frm_inv
Im trying to format the length of a DataGridViewComboBoxColumn based on the length of the longest string in the comboBox. Here is the code I currently have but it only formats the DataGridViewComboBoxColumn based on the users previous selection in the comboBox.
Is there a way to have the DataGridViewComboBoxColumn at the length of the longest string in the comboBox? Here is my code.
Private Sub comboTest_SelectionChangeCommitted(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As EventArgs) Handles comboTest.SelectionChangeCommitted Dim senderComboBox As ComboBox = CType(sender, ComboBox)
I'm making a combobox on a form. I want the combobox to have a list of choices from a table in a db. The two columns are a String and a Date. I want the date column to only show the year. I'm hoping I have the code right as it is above, but I'm not positive I've done the whole date thing right.
I have a form in my vb.net application used to take the data about the returned stock. The form contains two comboboxes. One, named combobox5, contains invoice numbers and the other, named combobox3, contains party codes. Both the comboboxes are pre_loaded using sqldataadapter.
Now what i want is to change the party code in combobox3 when the invoice number is changed in combobox5. Elaborating it further, When Stock is issued the party code is stored along with the invoice number to keep track of to which party was the stock issued. Now when stock is returned i want to keep track that which party has returned the stock and i want that the party code should be automatically selected when the invoice number is changed and it should be what is stored in the database against that particular invoice number....
I'm using the following code for doing so:
Private Sub ComboBox5_SelectedIndexChanged(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles ComboBox5.SelectedIndexChanged ' defines a new connection to the database Dim con As New SqlConnection("Data Source=TAHA;Initial Catalog=ADT;Integrated Security=True")
i'm creating a simple search application which have a TEXT box and some combo boxes and radio buttons and a search button.radio button names "Videos", "Audios", "Pics" etc..when radiobutton of video is selected, a combobox is appear having options "DailyMotion", "Metacafe" etc I want that when i click "Metecafe" item in combobox of video, an other combo box appear having items Like "Entertainment", "How To", "+18" etc(categories of video search).
if combobox1.SelectedItem = "PAKISTAN" Then combobox2.Visible = True End if if combobox1.SelectedItem = "INDIA" Then
My visual studio 2005 has been running great up till now The menu items in the menu toolbar display exactly as follows:File File Edit Edit View View File File Edit Edit View View Tools Tools Tools Tools Window Window Community Community Help Help Window Window Community Community Help Help
Error List is displayed as follows:(I've excluded the icons)0 Errors 0 Errors 0 Warnings 0 Warnings 0 Messages 0 Messages The standard toolbar images are also displayed in 'duplicate'
This is before I open a project and visual studio is on the start page. The 'duplicates' do not go away even when a project is open. When project is open, Solution explorer displays duplicate images as well
I've tried all the following but still cannot get it to display normally. Restored my computer to a time when it was working ok. Full scan on my computer with AVG premium which includes spyware etc (No viruses , etc found) All software is updated fully
Are there standard controls for formatting, which I can add to the form or the toolbar? I mean font selector, text size selector, bold button, and so on. OR do I have to create them myself. If they are standard,l how do I add them? I can't find any such thing in the toolbox.
are two issues i need to work now in regards to outlook automation.1] text formatting in mail body (eg bold, changing font...etc)2] how to by pass the security prompt "A program is trying to access..."3] add mail disclaimer for every mail generated through vba.
I have a datetime field in a SQL Server 2005 table that has values like this:2012-04-23 09:00:00.0002012-04-23 14:00:00.000The minutes, seconds, and microseconds are always zero.I need to display a "time slot" (basically, the time plus one hour) like this:
2012/04/23 09:00 AM - 10:00 AM 2012/04/23 02:00 PM - 03:00 PM
On another note I am not even sure why this is working since my column value is in string format, i thought it would need to be in some form of integer value to compute?
I have two RichTextBoxes, each of which can have any sort of formatting. I need to be able to take the rich text from box 2, complete with formatting, and add it to the end of box 1, preserving the formatting of both box 1 and the appended rich text.
I've not managed to find anything usefull on this anywhere apart from hints pointing to manually re-building the RTF codes for the result (but no actual VB / C# / C code to perform this or similar).
I have found 4 or 5 examples of "lowercase routes" in C# however when I use the telerik code converter, I get a bunch of errors. Namely something to do with "extension methods can be defined only in modules." how to map routes to lowercase in VB?
Quick question here about how to get it to accept capital and lowercase letters. I am running code that has certain Customer Types such as "T". It returns different information for that customer. There are only 3 types "T", "R", and "C". The rest return the default information. When I enter "t" into the textbox it returns the default information, not the information for "T". How do I go about getting it to accept "T" or "t"?
