May 9, 2009Im using buttons from A to Z in a toolstrip which I need to capture the text property of the button which trigger click event. I do it this way which took a long coding to mention all buttons (A-Z) click events.

Mar 28, 2012I've got a dynamically filled datagrid view. When a user right clicks a cell in the datagridview, it opens a context menu, located by that cell. The context menu has two choices: A and B. I want to set the value of the cell to A if they pick A, and B if they pick B.I would like to pass the relevant cell as a field in the event args passed to ContextMenu's ToolStripItem.click. So the handler for ToolStripItem A's click event would read the relevant cell from the event args and set it to A , like this...

how to pass a custom event arg. Or if there is some easier way to do this? I can't just use the X and Y coordinates, because the context menu/mouse won't necessary by over the relevant cell.

I used ExitToolStripButton.Select() on ButtonFocusToExit.Click but which seems like its selecting the button ("Exit") but when i pressed enter it never execute the code in "ExitToolStripButton_Click" .

Jun 2, 2009I know this may sound really stupid, however, I really do not know. Though I have been programming with VB2005 for about the last 4 years or so, I have never used toolstrip at all. Just simply never has a need to, until now. So, I tried it by simply clicking it in the toolbox, which is simple enough, and choose the toolstrip button for the toolstrip as well. I change the button image to the image I have and want, which seems to be piece of cake operation. Everything looks good in design time. However, when I ran the program, I have the toolstrip simply look blank (no show of the button or the image at all)! The button was there alright, as when I clicked it, it responded. However, it just simply not visible at all, nor the image. When I ran my mouse over it, it did change color (which I guess indicate it is there), but no image either.

GetWindowLong (and passing to it the handle of the form, and GW_STYLE to get the current windows style)SetWindowLong (and passing to it the handle of the form, the InitialStyle, and ORing with it WS_DLGFRAME) how to remove the MenuStrip and ToolStrip to leave just the main application area?

May 10, 2010Im creating a noughts and crosses game, what I want to happen is for the user to choose either an X or a O from a combo box then click the button to try and win the game, now the game is just about finished, ive finished the design work and all the code is written.HoweverThere is one problem, the buttons are not behaving correctly, when I first load the game the first two button select a character and they shouldnt until a character is selected, also when I choose a character only the first two buttons work, if I press the new game button which resets all the fields then everything works fine.Below is the code I wrote for my combo box - human player is a form level variable as a string data type
