View 3 RepliesI'm currently working on my listview, I have got three columns in my listview and I want to add the items in each column, but I don't know how to do this.
View 5 RepliesI have a DatagridView with 12 columns. I would like to insert 3 Columns AFTER it has been filled with data from the table.The first New column should contain the total of Col1, Col2, Col3.The second new column should contain the total of the (old) Col4, Col5 , Col6...
View 2 Replieshow to print, and got it working pretty well. The text string I have printing into a rectangle, and if a word does not fit it will wrap down to the next line, and then keep going like that, but now I need to split my page into three different areas that will each print different text.I am pretty sure I could draw three different rectangels then draw the text I need on each of them, but is it possible to somehow merge them together into a single rectangle that will be printed?
View 9 RepliesI have a datagridview that is bound to a datatable. When the form is displayed, the column headers have no sort glyphs and the columns will not sort.
I don't see a property on the form that controls column sorting - at least not one that's obvious. This is an area of the code that another developer wrote originally, so maybe there's something going on that I'm not aware of.
if i want to match the first recod with database so i use the following procedure. If it finds the record so it binds the data which i mentiond in bind function. right. suppose if i want to match the data which is rows 0 item 0 and rows 0 and item 1 then please assist me what chagnes i made in this for loop?
dss.Clear()

I need to set some of the columns in a DGV to specific widths. What I am looking for is to line the columns up with the labels above them. I am trying to do it like this(the numbers are just for testing):
Me.DataGridView1.DataSource = dsForm.Tables(0)
' column 6
Me.DataGridView1.Columns(6).Width = 100
[Code].....
what I might have to change in the properties of the DGV for the code to set the widths, I've changed so many that I am not sure what the default settings are any more. Also the look of the form is not open to suggestion as this is what the customer wants.
Is it possible in to filter out certain columns from a datatable? If suppose a datatable dt1 has 3 columns and I want to have a new datatable dt2 with the values of only 1 column from dt1 then what is the best approach to do it? I know a rowfilter exists for dataview of a datatable but there is no column filter as such.
View 3 RepliesI'm trying to allow users to resize columns of my datagridview, but it's not working. I have this line:
DataGridView1.AllowUserToResizeColumns = True
I want users to be able to resize columns the same way they would if in excel.
With .net 05 and datagridview
Error: Index was out of range. Must be non-negative and less than the size of the collection.Parameter name: index
I am just looping through a datagridview cells of some columns, my datagridview is having 134 rows and 09 columns, but my code stopping at row 124 stating above error.
My code is here:
Public Sub IScoLP(ByVal dGRid As DataGridView)
'SHUNTING
Dim w As String = "SHUNTING"
Dim T_wTYPE As Object
Dim T_ALp As Object

I have an integer array which contains the different col widths for an range of excel worksheet.when i use Range.ColumnWidth= ColWidths (Colwidths is the int array), it takes lot of time to do all the process (i.e opening excel , formatting range, setting values)But when i use Range.ColumnWidth = 15 then all the process is done in a flash.Why using an integer array takes time? I did even try replacing int array with string array, but same time taking result?
View 1 RepliesI am working with two different connections because the information I need is stored in two different locations. One being Oracle, the other being Access. I pull all the information I need from Access with the exception of one field which I pull from Oracle. When I add this field to my datatable, it adds it to the end. I am wanting the column that I add to be between column 1 and 2 of my current datatable. Anyone know the best way to do this? From what I could find, there wasn't a way to re-arrange columns. Here is my code.
Dim da As New OleDbDataAdapter(" SELECT tblSummary.WorkOrderNumber, tblLabor.Crew, tblLabor.NumberOfMechanics, tblLabor.NumberOfHoursPerMechanic, tblTasks.TaskNumber, tblTasks.TaskDescription FROM (tblLabor tblLabor INNER JOIN tblTasks tblTasks ON
[code].....
OK, folks, help me figure out what I'm doing wrong. I have the following
Dim table1 As New DataTable("Table1")
table1.Columns.Add("column1", GetType(Integer))
table1.Columns.Add("column2", GetType(String))
table1.Columns.Add("column3", GetType(String))
table1.Columns.Add("column4", GetType(Integer))
[Code]...
table1.Columns.Add("column7", GetType(String), "parent(Relation1).column6")On the last line where I try to add column7 I get an error saying "unable to find parent relation 'Relation1'". I thought I just added that relation?
I have an unbound datagridview with a whole bunch of columns.I need to sort based on 4 columns, the first three are simple strings, the fouth is a date string (which in itself presents a problem, since it wants to sort lexically but I need them in date order).
View 3 RepliesI want to make labels in RDLC columns. Each label must have his own column in the RDLC report. Does anyone know how to fix this. I put an example as a image!
View 7 RepliesDecimal type columns have Precision and Scale where the length of the integral part of the decimal would be Precision - Scale, if the Precision is 4 and the Scale is 2 then the integral part can only contain 2 digits (4-2). As such I will probably need a control that I could set how much it should accept on its integral part. In that regard I am not sure which control is best for such cases, I could try to make a usercontrol that will handle that but is there any other control out there that I could utilize for this purpose, intrinsic to .Net or a custom control out there? I could also just validate the data keyed-in but the above solution seem to be more user-friendly. Curiously, when databinding such Decimal type columns, how is it handled when the specified integral part exceeds the allowable size (Precision minus Scale)?
View 1 RepliesMistakingly I have deployed an application on 20 laptops and discovered that one of the columns text size to 2 characters to small. How can I check and set this in code? If I can do it this way I don't need to get all the databases back and do it manually.
View 2 RepliesAll fields from my class objects are added to the columns collection of DataGridViews, when the forms or custom controls that contain them are viewed within the VS 2005 designer. I haven't been able to figure out how to stop the designer from auto-adding all of the fields found within the bindingsource object.
View 6 RepliesI have a datagridview that I'm populating from a SProc. The data coms back fine and is presenting in the DGV without any trouble, but I don't like the order the data is being returned in.A long solution might be to modify the SProc to return the data in a different order, but I prefer to handle this on the UI for simplicity. Also, I know the user can re-order but that presents a specific poblem in the way the columns are structured.Is there a way to programmatically change the order at runtime?Here's the ode I have on the UI. If you need to see the adapter class also, please let me know and I'll present it, too.
Code:
Private Sub UpcomingInspections()
AddHandler mAdapter.ErrorOccured, AddressOf HandleDataError

I'm getting this error 'column' argument cannot be null. Parameter name: column at the bold character instruction. Also I would like to know how to relate two tables with two key columns in each table
Dim connection As New OleDb.OleDbConnection(strTextoConn)
Dim EnPartesdataSet As DataSet = New DataSet("Enpartes")

I'm using VB.net 2005. I have working programs that I populate DataGridViews with something like the following:

My goal is to connect to my database either manually or using an sqladapater, and get information from two of my databases on sql server 2005. Then I want to take this information and on run-time begin to add/subtract/divide/multiply certain columns and place the information into other columns. I can do this in queries, however, I want to do it on run-time what is the best way to achieve this.I had some of this working, but I just want to start fresh and see how you would go about doing this.

I have simple columns and their respective sums. However, I exclude 1 particular value from each sum, like so [code]...
Now I need to exclude another value ("Awaiting Progression") from a second column called "PROGRESSION".
Since I already exclude value based on 1 column called CATEGORY, how do I change my =Sum(Code.ExcludeOthers(Fields!CATEGORY.Value,Fields!ACTION_PLAN_NEW.Value)) to exclude a value from the PROGRESSION column if it's = ("Awaiting Progression") ?
i.e. How do I exclude multiple values, depending on values in 2 columns in SSRS 2005?
I have the below Linq query that is returning the data but I need to aggregate the columns to group on the Period and Sum the Count columns. How do I go about doing this?

Order By t.Period

I am using the following code to alter an table imported from an Excel spreadsheet
Dim SQL As String = "ALTER TABLE receipts ADD payee integer, account integer, category integer, reconciled boolean"
Dim dataread As New OleDb.OleDbCommand()
dataread.Connection = Connection1
[code]....
Both ExecuteNonQuery() actions yields the exception message {"Syntax error in field definition."}The error message does not happen with the first if the boolean column is not there (I tried Tes/No as a definition - but that also failed.The second query to modify the ID column from autonumber to integer I assume fails because it is a Primary KeyHas?
Imagine the following scene: I have one table which have tree columns (ID, Number, Name).
A Select query result on this:

Now, the user deletes the Number 3 and 4. So, now the Select query is going to be:

And I want to have:

How can I organize the column?
I've the following code which successfully makes an average for all the columns from a table. What I need to do though is ignore certain columns in this equation.
Dim totalNumber as Double = 0
Dim count as Integer = 0
For x = 0 To xyz123.Tables(0).Columns.Count - 1

View 5 RepliesI have a datatable property called prpParametersTable in a class called clsBatch. I have a procedure that sets a datatable variable called dtP equal to prpParametersTable at the beginning of the procedure. I then add three new columns to dtP.Here is my problem. When I add the three new columns to dtP my original table prpParametersTable also gets those columns added to it, why? I only want to add the three columns to dtP and not prpParametersTable. How can I do that?
