Apr 24, 2010I am making a simple program that allows a user to add and delete contacts from a database. Whenever I try to delete a contact that was created in a previous session (by session, I mean time that I ran and then ended the program), it is fine, but when I try to delete a contact created in the same session, it says: "Concurrency violation: the DeleteCommand affected 0 of the expected 1 records." here is the code for the delete button: [code] I noticed that, since the error does not happen on a new session, that if I added the code that happens at the form_load, I could fix the issue.

Today, out of the blue, I started getting a DB concurrency violation whenever I tried to update one particular table in the database. After trying to troubleshoot what the problem might be, I just deleted that table and recreated it and the problem went away.

Apr 9, 2010The way I'm doing this is performing multiple reads on different tables to extract data. In this case I'm reading 2 different MS Access 2003 tables. I then dump the data into a "Row" variable that I have Publicly defined for each Class (each Access table is defined as a Class containing all the fields, Add, Change, Delete, and Select functions).For example, my first read extracts all the fields from the "tblClients" table and loads them into the form fields via the "clientROW" object. My second read extracts all the records from the "tblClientAddr" table associated with the selected Client and loads them into their form fields respectfully via the "addressROW" object.

Apr 30, 2009I'm new to vb.net and its database methods so I'm a bit confused by these datasets and grids and table adapters.
I'm getting:Concurrency violation: the UpdateCommand affected 0 of the expected 1 records.
On this line:frmMain.AccountsTableAdapter.Update(frmMain.DsAccounts)
I have a datagridview attached to a dataset. I also have a button that the user can press to update information in the datagrid based on a website. But I often get that error when it comes to actually updating the table.

Jan 5, 2011I am using this code to Add rows to a SQL database, and it adds the row to the SQL database if column 7 is not null. After it adds the row to the SQL database, it deletes it from the Access Dataset, and updates the Access Database. Sometimes double rows seem to get inserted into the database, so I'm thinking there is an error in my logic somewhere here.

I used Query Wizard to show the data of both tables in a single table(3rd Table).I am able to view the content of all 3 tables using datagridview in vb 2008(Using Code), but i am unable to add,delete,save and search the content of the table using code. Jul 27, 2009I am working on a program whereby insert, update and delete of database is required, i have been able to do so successfully but the above error occurs when i tried to insert a new row of data into the database and tried to edit it and update it to the database. The database platform i used is SQL server 2005 and i am using datagridview to display my data, my primary key is "s/n" which is an auto number, however, whenever after i insert data into the database, the newly added row has the "s/n" column blank shown in the datagridview and after i edited that row and tried to update it, the error occurs.

May 8, 2009My client recently got this error but I can't reproduce it on my pc. Any Idea what the problem could be. I have a master/detail scenario. So I have a grandparent/parent relationship, so when I select a product from my product combobox it displays the relevant results from the Result_Header table in my first datagridview.
Then I have a parent/child relationship so that when I select a result_header item from my first datagridview it displays the child records from the Result_detail table. If i'm adding a new Result_Header and then click save, I search for existing tests for the chosen product and insert them as new datarows into the Result_detail table. then I can update the child rows and click the second save button and it saves what I edit. Quite complicated.

Jul 24, 2009I am creating a small app in VS2008 and have to use an Access DB. I have Office 2007 loaded on my machine. I use the Create DataSource Wizard to set things up, when I declare all of the information and test that connection and it works. I save the connection string and click Next: at that point I get the following error message in a popup dialog box:

Aug 17, 2010I have a class project that supplied me with an Access 2007 DB. When in VB and go through the steps for creating a data source. When the Wizard comes up I click on Database, Next, New Connection, Data Source is Microsoft Access Dagabase File (OLE DB), Browse to Database File Name, Test Connection is successful, click on OK, then Next. A MSVS box appears "The connection selected uses a local data file that is not in the current project. "Would you lie to copy the file to your project and modify the connection?"I am supposed to click NO. When I do I get this "Wizard Form" "An unexpected error has occurred. Error Message: Cound not load type." I need to be able to go to the next part of the Configuration Wizard that says "Choose Your Database Objects" I evensaved the file as Access 2003, and it will not work.
