Stack Overflowers:I have been racking my brain trying to get an List(of T) type array to be the property of a class. I know there has to be a simple way of doing it and I can't find a good example on google. Everytime I create a class that I think will work I get the "Object reference not set to an instance of an object" error when I try to use it. I have a class library in VB.NET that does a NET-envelope for an USB device driver.There is only one function of that driver that I could not envelope in a traditional class, but I had to put it in a Windows Service as described here:Sharing a class property (field) between applications.The Windows Service works fine, but I have now two projects for my NET-envelope: the one with the class library, the second with the windows service and I do not like the idea to maintain two distinct projects for the same driver.Is it a good practice (or even if possible) to add a windows service class to a normal class library (without creating its own project as described in the vb tutorial)?I know, in any case I should create a separate setup only for the windows service, but in this way I could have together all the classes that envelope my usb device driver in only one project.

I am currently working to transform my code from using Windows API calls to access the INI to using a IniFile class that I found on the internet. I would like the BsfciFile to have a Array of StudyFlashCard objects, but I would like the StudyFlashCard class to use the IniFile class object contained in the BsfciFile class. I can pass the IniFile from the BsfciFile class to the constructor for the StudyFlashCard class, but I want it to modify the same IniFile as the BsfciFile class has later on.

I want to read a number of items from a file and then associate each of those items with a new button at run-time, so that when the user clicks one of the buttons I can display some information about that item.Can I use a LIST to manage these buttons and items? I am trying to find way to design a report using my own custom class. I found links:

They were quite helpful, but I have been stuck in the first step while designing report as my custom class's property is not listed in field list of crystal report design view.[code]When I add my class objects to crystal report I do not get the usertype field from users class in field list.So how can I add usertype field to my field list? Or do I have to take another approach?The reason i wanted to use it as i am:

Basically, when the program opens, the lstReservations list in the MainForm class will be populated with a total of 60 (m_totalNumberOfSeats) entries to represent 60 seats. Each of these seats will contain the index number from the array m_nameList; this index number (+1) will represent the seat number and then in the lstReservations list, after the seat number, I'd like it to contain the respective entry from the m_nameList array. As all entries will be held in RAM, when the GUI is opened, all m_nameList array entries will be empty. As the user uses the program, they can highlight a row in the lstReservations list and then use the GUI textboxes to enter the customer's name which will then be populated into the respective array entry.
how to, when the GUI opens, ensure that the lstReservations list takes all of the blank entries from the m_nameList array and from there, I can highlight a row to carry out further methods on?
I'm trying to code a class of RandomNumber. One of the class methods needs to populate a "List (Of RandomNumber)" ... which was passed as a parameter to the method ... with 10 random numbers between 1 and 50. DEAD SIMPLE :)

I have a class library called Encrypt.dll that I added to my project (that class encrypts strings..). I have a problem that when I drag the app out of the Release folder, it crashes, giving me this error:Could not load file or assembly 'Encryption_Class, Version=1.0.0.0...' or one of its dependencies. View 4 RepliesI've got a form which is populated with text fields and listbox's etc. I've connected it to a database and i'm going to populate these with results from one selected row. Should I create a class object that will have a variable for each textbox and then in one function add or remove this object from each textbox Or Should I via a sub when selecting a row add each result to it's respected textbox.
