In short, I can't seem to get the xml serializer to serialize an array of one class type embedded within an array of another class.I have two classes, one of which contains an array of the other class, as follows (there are other objects in the classes that I've not included):

There must be a simple way to get the XML serializer to serialize the array of the class embedded within the array of the class that I am serializing. Am I missing something?
I have an error in the the following class, but am unsure where it is. The class will return correctly in my service but does not serialize and return any results.

I'm designing a small GUI Windows program that allow staff at a cinema to reserve seats for customers. There will be a total of 60 seats in the cinema. I have two classes in my program:-
1.) MainForm.vb - used for I/O actions and user interaction
2.) SeatManager.vb - used to hold and handle the background methods and functions that make the program work
Here is the code for my MainForm.vb class thusfar:-

Basically, when the program opens, the lstReservations list in the MainForm class will be populated with a total of 60 (m_totalNumberOfSeats) entries to represent 60 seats. Each of these seats will contain the index number from the array m_nameList; this index number (+1) will represent the seat number and then in the lstReservations list, after the seat number, I'd like it to contain the respective entry from the m_nameList array. As all entries will be held in RAM, when the GUI is opened, all m_nameList array entries will be empty. As the user uses the program, they can highlight a row in the lstReservations list and then use the GUI textboxes to enter the customer's name which will then be populated into the respective array entry.
how to, when the GUI opens, ensure that the lstReservations list takes all of the blank entries from the m_nameList array and from there, I can highlight a row to carry out further methods on?
I need to avoid serializing an Event class member because when the event is handled by an object that is not marked as Serializable the serialization will fail.
I tried using the NonSerialized attribute on the Event class member but it fails to compile. This line of code:<NonSerialized()> Public Event PropertyValueChanged()
produces the following error: Attribute 'NonSerializedAttribute' cannot be applied to 'PropertyValueChanged' because the attribute is not valid on this declaration type.
Public Event PropertyValueChanged() ' compiles but needs the extra handling described below
Is there another way to avoid serializing Event members? This is not a problem if the event is not handled and I can work around it by cloning the objects (and ignoring the event) before serializing them. Just wondering if there is a better way.

I have put this code in the global form Inherits System.Windows.Forms.Form. And then in the form that will inherit this from the global Inherits MenuStrip. "MenuStrip" is what the global form is called. so I used to mess around with C#, just a little. And someone had helped me make a class for Visual C# that was supposed to do the math parts for "internal structure" - which the program used for a part of its calculations and screen... Basically there were 2 options. Endo-Steel and Standard. The user would use a updownbox to determine weight of the machine and then internal structure was a % of that total. If it was standard then it was 10% of the overall weight, if it was Endo-Steel then it was 50% of standard (so 5% of total weight) rounded to next 0.5 (so .25 was .5, 1.25 was 1.5, 1.75 was 2.0, etc).
