I have a form with around 20 ovalshapes (the one that comes with Power Packs 3.0). I have named them p1, p2, p3, p4 and all the way up to p20. Is it possible to loop trough each shape in the form and check if the name contains a specified number? I'm thinking of something like this:
For Each ovalshape In Me
If ovalshape.name.contains("13") Then
ovalshape.backcolor = Color.Black
End If
Next
How would I go about changing the actual shape of the RichTextBox caret?
I have tried using the CreateCaret and ShowCaret API calls, but they only seem to work with normal text boxes. Is there any way to modify them so they work with RichTextBoxes?
I am working on a contract to repair problems in a application that interfaces with a custom built digitizer tablet. The application recognizes the tablet at startup, initiates calibration to locate the pad limits and then saves those limits to file.During the run of the application the user has a cursor that is changed to a line with a X on the left hand side of it. The user then uses this custom cursor to click in a PDF document where they would like the contents of the Digitizer pad to be placed. When they click a box signifying the size of the digitizer pad along with the same blank and X appears. What I have been having issue with is that the box and the line with the X appear most of the time but on occasion the line and X appears at either the top or bottom of the box and the click is no longer at the line with the X but somewhere in the middle of the box. This really screws up things and often the user has to uninstall and re-install the application to get it righted.
The values that save the calibration points are bound to variables during the build process, there is a separate routine to calibrate the digitizer pad if the user desires to do it again.

View 1 RepliesThis might be a stupid question but I cannot figure out how to do it. I am making an application used as a touch interface. What I want is to make a form in VB.net, ie buttons and a browser window and possibly some images. When I press a button such as next page etc. I would like it to be a new interface ie different buttons maybe a picture instead of the web browser etc, pretty generic. I can see how I can do using multiple forms but I am wanting it to be one application/one window.
Am I missing something as I thought this would be a pretty normal thing to do, ie having different UI's so when you click a button it takes you to the next page. Should I been using multiple forms and then get the form2 to replace form1 etc?
How do I change the Form's Border color?
View 1 RepliesBelow is a short section of code from an application I am working on. What I am trying to do is to get a counter value to show when the application is minimized. When restored back to normal state, the name string is applied. It works, but it takes several minutes to change, and then never updates again. Not sure what the issue is.

I also tried a direct string conversion in the "elseif" part. No difference.
How do I change the font of the Form's Title?
View 3 RepliesI have a project(solution) which aims to lance a Form from a lancer module. On my Form Design the buttons are nice and round. When I go to Run the solution and the the Form is set as startup project, all is OK but when lancer module is set as startup project all buttons change to hard rectangular shapes and rounded corners dissapear (see attachments).

View 4 RepliesI have a form which has a user control in it added dynamically. How can I change the values in that dynamically generated user control? All my functions are in a module and I will just call them in main form. So in module how can I find that user control and change its values? I tried writing a function in user control form. Like it has 10 txt box and I tried to pass a structure as argument in that user control form but I am unable to do so. when I tried to declare the structure outside function parameter in user control form it works well but not as function parameter..

Basically I want to move my mouse to the coords that is received based on the location of a certain coloured pixel. I can get the coords of the pixel but when using them on mouse position, the mouse position is based on the entire screen rather than the form. How could I change the position coords based on the form rather than the entire screen. E.G. If a certain coloured pixel is 2,2 in a form and I put that as the mouse position, it would go outside the form but I dont want that. I want it to hover of the pixel coords
This is my
Dim bmp As Bitmap = DirectCast(PictureBox1.Image, Bitmap)
For x As Integer = 0 To bmp.Width - 1
For y As Integer = 0 To bmp.Height - 1
If bmp.GetPixel(x, y) = (Color.FromArgb(108, 90, 60)) Then
Windows.Forms.Cursor.Position =
End If
Next

I need to be able to change my form's opacity without changing the opacity of the components.
I really only need to do this on one form in my entire app, so this is getting a little frustrating
I've been researching for about half an hour now, trying to figure out if it's possible, but I'm coming up short.
I've seen some WPF examples and if it really comes to that, I'm more than willing to change the app from a WinForms app to a WPF app. I've made a WPF app before, so I'm familiar with it. But, I don't want to have to remake my entire project for this one form.
On that note, does anyone know if I can make a WPF form how I need it and just import it into a WinForm app? It doesn't seem possible, but it's better to ask than not. I'll look into this more.
On my Form Design the Buttons are nice and round.
When I go to Run the program they all change to Hard Rectangular shapes and rounded corners dissapear.
I did not add anything inside the code to do this.
The code was translated from other version.
Should I look in the code since it happens to all of the buttons and what to search?
I used to change the Form shape in VB 6.0 using the following code:Private Declare Function CreateRoundRectRgn Lib "gdi32" (ByVal X1 As Long, ByVal Y1 As Long, ByVal X2 As Long, ByVal Y2 As Long, ByVal X3 As Long, ByVal Y3 As Long) As Long Private Declare Function SetWindowRgn Lib "user32" (ByVal hWnd As Long, ByVal hRgn As Long, ByVal bRedraw As Boolean) As Long

I have drawn lines and boxes on a form programmatically. How do I programmatically delete one of them? Let's say I draw a line and then a box, (using button1). How do I delete the line and not the box? Or can I?
View 6 RepliesIn addition to the shapes you can create with the code from this thread. [URL]. Here is code to make a control or a Form into a vertical cross shape. This will show you how you can do it in Vb.Net 2008 and 2010 using extension methods. The following post will show how you could do it differently in Vb.Net in other versions as well as Vb.Net 2008 and 2010.
1) From the PROJECT menu select
ADD MODULE.
2) In the NAME box type
CrossShapedThings.Vb and then click on OK.
3) PASTE this code in.>>
Option Strict On
Imports System.Runtime.CompilerServices
Module CrossShapedThings
<Extension()> _
Public Sub MakeCrossShaped(ByVal aControl As Control, Optional ByVal CrossWidth As Integer = 10)

View 10 RepliesI have a forms application and I have multiple localizations for it. I've figured out how to add a button to a form, to change the localization and then read all the labels/etc and change them to the other language. What I would want to do instead now is click a button and it changes to the other language the current form but also the entire application so that any other windows opened while the application is open open in that other language.[code]This is the code I use when a button is clicked on a form to change it to Hindi the current form. However I want to when the button is clicked, change application to continue to run on that localization instead for the remainder of the time it is open.[code]
