I have a Vista Glass form using dwmapi.dll. I have a problem, which is whenever I put the form over a white color, the text becomes very difficult to read, as it is white as well. But if I put it over a black or darker color you can read it fine. I want the text color on my form to be able to change when the form is moved over a certain color. No, I'm not trying to make a virus / automater...

View 3 RepliesThis is my source that I created
Private Sub FontToolStripMenuItem_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles FontToolStripMenuItem.Click
FontDialog1.ShowDialog()
RichTextBox1.Font = FontDialog1.Font
End Sub
Private Sub ColorToolStripMenuItem_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles ColorToolStripMenuItem.Click
ColorDialog1.ShowDialog()
RichTextBox1.ForeColor = ColorDialog1.Color
End Sub
When I want to change color and font in richtextbox, all of text in textbox is changed. How to make source code that change color and font in text that we highlight.
I am building a text editor kind of like Notepad++ and I would like to set up the color coder for key words such as And. I will be doing this for VBScript and Java.I would like the keywords to change when the file is saved for example, when the user loads a blank document nothing will be color coded but if the document is saved as .vbs the keywords for vbs will be blue and comments ' will be green.
View 2 RepliesI've been following you for some time, and many of the things you've done have helped me a lot, but this time I got stuck and need the help of an expert.I'll explain my case:I'm developing an assistance programme for an online game, and being this the 10th version I release, I wanted to do something special for the users, so I decided to make the programme based on tabs and give it the aspect of a new skin of the game that will be released soon.
As you may have guessed from the Title, I want to change the gray that is arround the flat buttons and on all the border of the tabcontrol, which is docked to the form. Here is a picture of the programme.To colour the tab buttons I used the following
Private Sub TabControl1_DrawItem(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.DrawItemEventArgs) Handles TabControl.DrawItem
[Code]...
The problem is that I don't understand how to apply the "A Completely OwnerDraw TabControl" to my project, my knowledge isn't so far yet. Is there any way I can achieve the same results using something simplier? Or if not, could someone explain to me how to apply it without making any mistakes?
I'm using VS 2005 and I've created an Excel spreadsheet and written a lot of data. I've also modified some of the cell interior colors via commands like this:
objWorksheet.Cells._Default(Bline + 2 + i, 1).Interior.Color = System.Drawing.ColorTranslator.ToOle(System.Drawing.Color.White)
But what I am finding is that the borders are getting wiped out.

Im using vb2010 express. I have a datagridview in my form. All my cells in the datagridview has a "sunken" cellborder. When mouse is over a cell, i want to change the cell border of that cell to "raised". I tried lots of thing, but i havent suceeded to change just "one" cell's border.
View 3 RepliesI have a RichTextbox set to Border style FixedSingle.. I want to have a blue boarder around my richtextbox, but it is always gray.. How do you go about changing the border color of a RichTextBox?
Obviously this doesn't work:
RichTextBox1.bordercolor = Color.Blue
I have been googling for a while and haven't found anything useful yet...
I want the background of my form to be the same color as the window frame color that the user selects, even if that changes. I selected System->WindowFrame as my background color, but it always remains a dark grey, regardless of what I have my window color set to. How else would I achieve what I want? I assumed I was doing it the correct way. Do I actually need code that gets the system window color and then apply it?
View 4 RepliesI'm working in VB, VS2008, winforms.I've got some labels to create, and I'm using the BorderStyle = FixedSingle.Is there any way to change the color of this border?It is always defaulting to black.

View 4 RepliesI want to change the border color of a textbox. I have tryed to override the onpaint event (setting userpaint to true), but in this case I must control all the painting events of a textbox. So, this isn't a good thing. This seems to work, but the user control has no text property. And I woult like to override the gotfocus and the lostfocus events.

the weird problem im getting is if i run my program and click the add button with the textboxes being empty it correctly changes the bordercolor to red but if i press the tab key it removes all the red bordercolors, why is this?i dont want the tab key to clear the red bordercolors.
I'm currently working on an application that I'd really like to be able to have a custom form border. I have it set up right now that the close, minimise and maximise buttons work, as well as moving it around. The issue however is that, although the movement is working, once it starts, it does not stop. So I can drag it around and it works perfectly, but if I want to stop dragging it around and click elsewhere, the form moves to the position from which it was being dragged.
Public Class Form1
Dim clickhold As Boolean
Dim doonce As Boolean
Dim mousebase As Point

I need a check that will see the location of the edge of the form. An example would be (for what I am trying to do) is, when a form is moved, the main form will get bigger depending which border and which way the second form is going.So basically I need some way to make Form1 get bigger if Form2 is near the left border or near the bottom border.
*I have a mini system for making it grow(LocationChanged) on the form I want it to work for.
*I also know about ".left" and ".top",
I set my FormBorderStyle of my form to none.This is exactly what i want, except I ran into a problem.When the background is gray (background of other applications running in the background), my form tends to fade in with the background (Still active, but i cant see where my form starts or ends).

View 3 RepliesI've created an ownerdraw ComboBox (used as DropDownList only) in Visual Basic .NET 2010. I inherited ComboBox and set DrawMode to OwnerDrawVariable. The control itself and the dropdown items are drawn with Paint and DrawItem.
The control works fine so far, but there is one thing i was unable to change: When i click on the combobox to open the dropdown area, this new area has a very bright border color (nearly white) which I want to change to black. I've uploaded an image of the current control and how I want it to look like:
