.net - Mousewheel Scroll An Usercontrol?
Mar 4, 2009I have a usercontrol I created. I added a panel and a vertical scrollbar to the right of it. I'd like to be able to scroll it with the mousewheel. The problem is there doesn't seem to be any events that fire on mousewheel. If I take the panel off then the usercontrol has focus and it will fire on mousewheel in the form. But with the panel on it doesn't seem to fire the mousewheel event of the panel, or the usercontrol within the control or even on the form. The best solution would be to have an event fire in the usercontrol but I'd even accept an event on the form and feed it back into the usercontrol.
I'm using vb.net and vs2005 if it matters.

Mousewheel Scroll In Panel With Dynamically Added Picturebox Controls?
Dec 2, 2009I've dynamically added 20 pictureboxes to a panel and would like to see the panel scroll when I use the mouse wheel. To implement this I have tried to set the autoscroll to true on the panel control. Here is the code.

It works for "button" control, but not for the "picturebox" or "label" controls?

The output WILL be 189 when I press the - sign. But when I check "Keys.OemMinus" it stands for 189 and when I replace "Keys.OemMinus" with 189 it won't work either!
I checked the Resources file and it's correct. The picture just doesnt change, only shows the last pressed button...
VS 2008 : Use The Keydown/keyup Events With Buttons In The Same Project And It Not Working Properly?
May 12, 2009I am trying to use the keydown/keyup events with buttons in the same project and it not working properly. I have 4 red boxes and when I press an arrow key the box should change to green according to which arrow key it corrosponds to. I have this part working fine, however only when there is nothing else in the project. When I add in say 3 buttons, Button1, Button2, Button3 and try runing the program instead of the correct red box changing to green, button outline just moves between buttons 1,2 and 3. I have tried turning tabstop off for the three buttons but that didnt work. how to read the keydown/keyup while still having buttions that can be pressed with a mouse?

Get MouseWheel Events With A UserControl?
May 23, 2011When I look on the Internet I find many want to know how to get MouseWheel events with a UserControl.I'm getting scrolling with the mouse wheel and don't know why.It doesn't seem to be the default since I have other usercontrols that do not respond the the mouse wheel.In one UserControll I find if I move the mose wheel the contents moves. Actully moves too much for good viewing.I've searched the code for "Wheel" - no hits. Also for e.Delts - no hits. Finally I tried:

Commented out as shown I do not get the unwanted mouse moves.If I remove the apostrophe I do get them.
Questions:
Is it OK to not call the Base sub in some cases?How do I find out if it is OK? (For example I don't imagine you'd want to not call it in New()Secondly and most important, What is going on? Why and I getting scrolling with the wheel in a Usercontrol and not getting it in other UserControls?

The problem is that this works perfectly if I use the left and right arrows and it also works perfectly if I use the scroll bar's slider SLOWLY. If I scroll using the slider and move it quickly then the scroll gets out of sync.The small change and large change are both set to 1 and maximum is set to 8

I have a DXF Viewer (with measure) control I wrote in VB6 that is quite frankly... Huge. It would take an inordinate amount of time to rewrite the whole thing and supporting tools in VB.NET. The MouseWheel event is used to Zoom in and Out. The control has a MouseWheel_Input() method to accept MouseWheel data from the host.
I added all the VB6 Mouse events, the Enabled Property, and The ActiveControl Property in VB6. Recompiled and registered the control on my VB.NET development machine. Added the control to my new VB.NET project and verified it has a focus method.
Get System Wide KeyUp Event?
Jul 15, 2011Currently I am able to see if a key is currently pressed via the GetAsyncKeyState function. Currently I just simply have a timer running in the background that constantly checks if a certain key is pressed in order to run a command. However my issue is if the user holds down the key it will continually run that bit of code over and over per timer tick. Is there a way or another function to detect a keyup or keypress only. This is my current code to detect keys:
