I found this email pop code online and I'm trying to get it working. This program simply downloads the emails from a mail server. The GetMessage function works but the output of the msg.Body is not in a email message format. How do I clean it up?

Scenario: We are using a createwizard control to create users for our website. When the user has an email we simply send the user the email with their username and password saying their account has been created. Using MailMessage and SMTPClient.
Problem: When the user doesn't have an email (ex. temp employee, student) I need to be able to generate the email but have it open via the creator's mail client so that they can enter in an email themselves/see the username and password. Similar to @mailto functionality. Question: Is there a way to do this from the code behind? I have tried searching but everywhere is telling me to use MailMessage and SMTPClient which I don't need.

I have developed an ASP.Net 2.0 application and I am facing problem in sending email from my Web Server. Following is the VB code I have used to send email from my web application. Thing is when I try to send email from my local system (laptop) the email goes out fine and reaches the recipient address instantly but when I try to send email from my web server it fails.My hosting provider gave me a relay-host address for sending out email. The email goes out fine but the relay host has an annoying amount of delay in email delivery which is a problem during the sign up process.

I have tried the above settings and they work fine from outlook and the application when tried on my laptop but these settings fail on web server.I want to send email from my web server without using a relay-host.
I want to manipulate the first name, last name and email via code, preferably server side. But I see this is not really how this might work, using asp hiddenfields for example.
So I have to get the values for the 3 fields server side, and somehow post this to [URL] - do I need to build the script in code and submit that? Not use this javascript?

While there are legitimate reasons to send bulk email, one must be sure to follow all the applicable rules. This means following RFC 2821 and forming properly crafted email messages. In the US, it also means complying with fedral law regarding the sending of unsolicited email (express permission must be captured through direct user initiation e.g. user's must choose to check the box to receive your email), and that means including a removal instruction as well as valid contact information.
To that end, here is an example program for sending a mass email to a list of recipient addresses located in a database. The code only cares about recieving an array of DataRow objects, so any database for which you can fill a DataTable will work.

The file size of the attachment is 396KB, upon the recipient receiving the email outlook shows the file size as 543Kb. Strange thing is if I send an email with the same attachment using outlook the file size is 396Kb.I understand that file sizes can increase due to the attachment being base 64 encoded as opposed to just raw binary.What I am failing to see is why outlook send a file which is 396KB in size but in code when sending it, the same file is 543Kb.

I have to make a basic program that: Create a program with a simple interface that
1. Asks the user type his/her email address into a textbox.
2. When the user clicks the "Evaluate Email Address" button, one of two message boxes pops up: "That is a valid email address!" with an "Information" icon, or "That is an invalid email address!" and on a second line, "Please retype your email address.", with an "Exclamation" icon
3. To be considered valid, the email address must -include an "@" symbol, and -it must end in either ".com", ".net", or ".org" or ".edu" (I don't know how to check a string and test if its last four characters end with any of these and make it say not valid email address. I think I might have to use a case statement)

What I am trying to do is to download the "From" person into the "From" columns and the "Date" of the email into the date column, so on and so forth but I'm not able to get them to go into their separate columns.
I am buidling an application that users can use to submit text data and attachments to email recipients. Certain fields, quite a few in fact from the textboxes in the app will be in the email body, and some in the subject line.This is how I am doing it right now, but I figured there has to be a better way. In VB it is one single line of code, not many like it is here. Ideally I would like to be able to better control the positioning in the message body.

The email address is not required, I only want to check for a valid email address when a value or address has been entered into the e-mail filed. Example: If e-mail is not empty or if email field has a value, then check for the follow elements, matched the email address with the required format. If the e-mail field is empty, do not look for anything, move on.
