I have placed several PictureBox Images of different colored dots(which represent lights) on an image of a Christmas Tree. I can make the lights randomly flash using a randomGenerator and a Select case statement. However, the code is very long. There are 67 lights on this tree and the code is 71 pages long. There has to be an easier way to do this. So far I have tried the following with two images of lights just to see if it would work and it does not work:

View 5 RepliesI want to use an image to some buttons . I know I can set the Image property and select an image file . My problem , however , has to do with the fact that the image in the file is always shown inside a gray contour . I mean the image itself (i.e. an exclamation mark) is shown correctly , but though around it there is nothing (not even a gray surface - just nothing) the image is displayed with gray color filing everything else . Back in VB6 I had no such problem ... I could simply select my image and it was shown correctly .

View 2 RepliesFirst attempt at using the error provider, I've set this up for each of the five text boxes I have on my form, when I click the button it shows the error provider flashing between the various boxes if I leave them all empty. Ideally I'd like the form to show the symbol next to the box thats empty, click the button and remove it from those which are correct leaving only the incorrect text boxes with the symbols. However, right now, i need to create 4 buttons to simulate the diagonal position of the image.Right now, the accelerometer can move the image in 4 directions (mainly left, right , Up, Down).The 4 buttons mention, is in diagonal position( 45 degree Leftup, 45 degree Leftdown, 45 degreeRightu, 45 degree RightUp, 45 degree RightDown).I need to do it the way in which when my image is moved using the accelerometer, and once when i hit any of the 4 buttons, the image move accordingly. View 2 RepliesWhen I set the button background image in properties, it looks great. When the button is clicked, the image needs to change. I tried to use an image list like this: btnSample.BackgroundImage = ImlStimuli.Images.Item(0)and I tried loading them from a file. I can get them to read, but the image always turns out blurry or distorted. I've tried all variations of alignment, BackgroundImageLayout like stretch/zoom/centered, and I changed flat style, but nothing has worked. Is there a setting or something that I'm missing in properties?

They will do this over a background image so the buttons line up with images in the background.Without the background image, the buttons move smoothly and quickly. With the image turned on, the buttons want to move sloooowly and they drag. I made up this code just to show the basic function of what I am trying to accomplish.

It has to deal with LOTS of images (100's potentially) There will be the set of default images, and then the user created replacement images. I started loading all the defaults into a resx file... thinking then I could just pull them out. now that I started setting the default, this sucks! lol the app will do this, on load it will set all the images (variables) to the resx images then when a theme is loaded, it will replace the default with the user image (if the user img exists) otherwise, the default stays. Then the "screen" is drawn to show the user. so, here is just the images to build the wallpaper, dock, and status bar...

Alright, So i have two forms open. One in a listview and i have another window with a browser control in it. The browser is adding data to the listview but i made it so it hides while doing this using Me.Hide(). I can make it appear if i click the menu item "Show browser" i made.when im on Form1 (the listview) and its doing its thing with the browser window hidden. It keeps making form1 flash. Well not flash but like the browser window is poping to the front (while hidden) causing me not to be able to click on anything on Form1.This happen everytime the web browser navigates somewhere.Making Form1 always on top fixes it, but it also gets on top of other programs like my web browser . I want it to be on top only to the web browser.
View 1 RepliesProblem: I have a listview control that gets populated with devices that are offline and after so many failed attempts, it will begin to flash, alerting the user.The code I use currently works, but seems almost random. The first time an item is added, it flashes just fine. Once a second device gets added, both items will stop blinking. A third item being added causes only the 3rd item to blink (first 2 still not blinking).

I have a datagrid with planned orders for loading (like the flight schedules at airports). If the status is "ready for loading" I would like that value to flash based on a timer. I managed to do it with text on a button, but because this is a datagrid it is more difficult for me and I am a bit confused.

Everything works fine. The column "Dock1" has the right color and the statuses have the right colors to, but; I want the "Ready for loading" status to blink based on Timer_2 which I have put on the same form.

View 3 RepliesI have a piece of software with two tabs, inside each tab there are buttons (the user can add the buttons when they want). when tab1 is full tab2 should start to fill. I currently know how many buttons fit on the screen so I just say something like if buttons > 150 then start to populate tab 2 The problem i have now though is if the resolution is changed then a different amount of buttons can be displayed. so if I put my screen to 1280x720 some buttons are left of. I was thinking of detecting the resolution and then using different cases for different resolutions but this seems very inefficient im wondering if there is a different way?

I have a button on a form that when clicked i want to have it flash a few times. I have tried creating a for-next loop using the visible true/false property but I only get one result, that being false.
I also want to vary the lenght of time between the flashing.
I'm making a HTML Editor. There are uttons in a toolbox they can click and it will add that HTML code. I don't know how to make it add the code to wherever the little falshing line is in the textbox.

What I would like to do is to have four different buttons (e.g., buttonA, buttonB, buttonC and button D). I wanna give the following instruction to the people: press these buttons in the following order: first buttonA, then buttonB, then buttonC and last buttonD. If they obey this instruction then a picture will be displayed, for instance a happy face. All the other combinations will not activate this picture to be displayed, or in other words, there won't be any consequence. I would also like to save this data using windows note pad e.g., writeline (1, xxxxxx). Is there any chance I will make it?
