VS 2008 Using Images For Buttons
Sep 4, 2011I want to use an image to some buttons . I know I can set the Image property and select an image file . My problem , however , has to do with the fact that the image in the file is always shown inside a gray contour . I mean the image itself (i.e. an exclamation mark) is shown correctly , but though around it there is nothing (not even a gray surface - just nothing) the image is displayed with gray color filing everything else . Back in VB6 I had no such problem ... I could simply select my image and it was shown correctly .

I'm using VB 2010 Express Edition. The folder name is 'Images'. The image name is 'checked.png'.

Feb 17, 2012I went and created a tab containing a good amount of controls, most of which are contained within what I'll just call the top-level group box. Now I decide I'd like the text of the top-level group box to be bold, but nothing else. When I set the top-level group box's font to bold, however, all of the controls contained within it become bolded as well, which is what I don't want. I can set each individual control's bold property to false, but it seems like there should be an easier way to do this.

However, right now, i need to create 4 buttons to simulate the diagonal position of the image.Right now, the accelerometer can move the image in 4 directions (mainly left, right , Up, Down).The 4 buttons mention, is in diagonal position( 45 degree Leftup, 45 degree Leftdown, 45 degreeRightu, 45 degree RightUp, 45 degree RightDown).I need to do it the way in which when my image is moved using the accelerometer, and once when i hit any of the 4 buttons, the image move accordingly. And when i use the accelerometer again to simulate, it also move.[code]

Jun 4, 2011When I set the button background image in properties, it looks great. When the button is clicked, the image needs to change. I tried to use an image list like this: btnSample.BackgroundImage = ImlStimuli.Images.Item(0)and I tried loading them from a file. I can get them to read, but the image always turns out blurry or distorted. I've tried all variations of alignment, BackgroundImageLayout like stretch/zoom/centered, and I changed flat style, but nothing has worked. Is there a setting or something that I'm missing in properties?

Feb 15, 2012I am making a simple application that will be able to store competition data into a text file that I have given a custom extension to on saving. Here is an example of the format that i have saved the data in.

When i open the file, i want to redisplay the data in separate text boxes. Later on in the project i want to be able to search within the file for headings for example;
if "[Heat1]" is present then get all text between [Heat1] and [Heat1]
i am currently able to use the streamreader and open file dialog to retrieve the entire string of text fromthe however i am not sure how to go about getting the text between the headings I have used.

Oct 7, 2009My app allows the user to set a new button on a tabpage, move it and resize it. They will do this over a background image so the buttons line up with images in the background.Without the background image, the buttons move smoothly and quickly. With the image turned on, the buttons want to move sloooowly and they drag. I made up this code just to show the basic function of what I am trying to accomplish.

Dec 8, 2011 am trying trying to write some code for a ComboBox that does the following:
1. Allow the user to enter text into the combo box to type entries contained in the list source.
2. Enable autocomplete to assist the user in selecting entries in the list source, both from dropped down state and non dropped down state.
3. Restrict the user from typing an entry that doesn't exist in the list source.
My requirements are:
1. The ComboBox must run some code after a selection has been made or the user has finished typing an entry (not after the focus has been moved to another control)
2. The code must only run once after the user has made a selection from the combobox or has finished typing an entry
The problem: To achieve the above functionality, I had to run code on numerous event's. Sureley there is a better way, here are the events and the reason for the code:

Jun 22, 2009I need to create a form with radio buttons, text boxes, labels, etc.. This information needs to be pulled from a database. For instance, I have a form that displays information that needs to be inputed to a database, based on what test is being done for a specific product. Each product requires different tests. So each product may or may not have the same information that needs to be inputed..
What I have done is made a database and filled a table with each product and what tests apply. I then call that database after the product has been selected for the tests. It will then fill an array for that products information for what texts boxes and labels need to be shown. I wanna take this further and have it create a form through code and align all the controls to specific spots so that it will look nice. For example I wouldn't wanna create a control and have it be cut out of the form, or have other controls overlapping others.

Feb 11, 2009The app i am working on is for creating theme for the iPod touch... It has to deal with LOTS of images (100's potentially) There will be the set of default images, and then the user created replacement images. I started loading all the defaults into a resx file... thinking then I could just pull them out. now that I started setting the default, this sucks! lol the app will do this, on load it will set all the images (variables) to the resx images then when a theme is loaded, it will replace the default with the user image (if the user img exists) otherwise, the default stays. Then the "screen" is drawn to show the user. so, here is just the images to build the wallpaper, dock, and status bar...

Resolution And Buttons - Tabs, Inside Each Tab There Are Buttons (the User Can Add The Buttons When They Want)
Mar 3, 2012I have a piece of software with two tabs, inside each tab there are buttons (the user can add the buttons when they want). when tab1 is full tab2 should start to fill. I currently know how many buttons fit on the screen so I just say something like if buttons > 150 then start to populate tab 2 The problem i have now though is if the resolution is changed then a different amount of buttons can be displayed. so if I put my screen to 1280x720 some buttons are left of. I was thinking of detecting the resolution and then using different cases for different resolutions but this seems very inefficient im wondering if there is a different way?

In the background their is a timer so the value will show after pressing button 1 and button 2 but with time interval for example in 1 second the value is showed in text box in next second text box is clear like blinking in every second.
