I'm just not able to add a custom TabControl to my project. I have found a custom tabControl here: [URL]. The CustomTab consists out of 4 .vb files. Normally I would add a component (.dll or exe) to my project. I tried adding the 4 .vb files but unfortunately no CustomTabControl.

View 1 RepliesI'm using Microsoft Visual Basic 2010 Express and I've been trying to make an application, a word processor, which has it's own custom tabs, I'm not making a new control, instead using a trackbar and adding richtextboxes to a panel for add tab and removing them for remove tab. and when the user changes the value of the trackbar, the richtextboxes too get changed by using the bringtofront property of the richtextbox with the index that is the same as the trackbar value. basically, as you drag the trackbar, the rtbs should get changed here is the code: the following is for a timer that keeps updating the number of rtbs, etc. [Code]

I'm coming over from VB6 in which you could use 'user controls' to create reusuable custom controls. They were simple and contained and you can easily create several instances of a user control within the same or other apps. In vb2008 there are user controls but I can not figure out how to add them to forms or or other apps. Can someone please give me the the basic steps to add a custom user control to a form or project.

I can already paint the tabs to the new location, but not sure if I have to override onmousedown or onmouseclick or what to have the tab selection area match up with the new painting. I haven't found any example of what I am wanting to do.
Silverlight project with tabcontrol hosting canvas objects. I want to wrap my entire tabcontrol with a scrollviewer so that on a short display you can scroll vertically to see the whole area on my canvas.When I run my project my scrollviewer vertical bar is always showing even when there's more room vertically than needed for a scrollbar.
All I am trying to accomplish here is a min resolution of 1280x768 to be scrollable and anything bigger than that have the scrollbars hide. My laptop is only 768 tall, but my canvases were developed with 1280x1024 in mind. So I would like a way to set this up so that everyone can scroll or just see the canvas all at once depending on their resolution.
Anyone have any ideas why it is always visible? I've tried setting canvas width and height. I tried setting stretch on alignments on the outer grid. Saw both those tips while searching other issues similar to mine.

When you INHERIT from TabControl to create a different version of the TabControl, then BUILD the designer will add 2 TabPagesby default when you add your new TabControl from the ToolBox to a Form.
View 1 RepliesFor reasons that are beyond my control, I have three Projects. Projects A and B reference project C. Project A references project B so that it can open a large form in project B. I now need to open that large form from project C, but VB won't allow me to add a reference from C to B because that would create a circular dependency. I found a way around it, though. I created a Timer in A, and when I opened C from A, I passed in that timer. When the user performs a certain action, I enable the Timer from A, and this causes C to open B for me.

I am working on a project that has some events already created and working. One of these events is called SelectedIndexChanged Event. I am using it for one of my Subs in my frmNewInspection Class, and I am trying to use it for a second Sub and it says that "Event SelectedIndexChanged Cannot Be Found".

View 5 RepliesI have a dll I created using VS 2008. I was able to add a reference to it in all my VB.NET projects built in VS 2008 with no issues. I added a reference...added an import statement....created a reference in my code and viola! All is good. I recently switched to VS 2010 and tried to re-use my trusty dll file in my new vb.net 2010 projects and all is good until I try to build and/or run the project. I get the following error whenever I try to do either...
'Type 'CustomFunctionsClass2010.CustomFunctions2010' is not defined.'I have tried all sorts of things from rebuilding the dll from scratch in the new VS 2010 IDE to changing where the file is stored on the network to placing the dll on my local drive and nothing seems to get me past this error. I even tried placing the dll in both the debug and release folders with no luck or change in the error shown. View 4 Repliesim still fairly new to this. i have written a program, built it and created my setup project and can install it no problems, however, in the "setup view" where you have the threefolders "Application folder" "Users Desktop" and "Users Programs menu" ... u know "the file system view/setup1" ... well here is the problem, i click on "Application folder" and change the "default location" ... so i can specify the program is installed in "C:ProgramFilesJohns AppCalculator" ...... BUT when i build the setup and install the program it does not appear in this location !! arghh i can see all the program files on my pc ... except mine ( i have tried all day and all night the only way i can get it to appear here is by INCLUDING the "project output" into THIS folder ..... even though i only want it to be on the "users desktop" ....

When the user navigates to a textbox and presses enter the underlying code runs another form and hides the menu form. The form to run and the navigations sequence is controlled by properties I added to the custom textbox. I have done the same with a custom button. Both custom control inherit from their respective Windows.forms controls.

I want my LabelFor to take model properties that are PascalCase and make a label that appears as multiple words. For example the property FirstName would appear as "First Name".
I found this post that shows how to make a custom LabelFor helper that allows the addition of html attributes. I recreated this helper in VB.Net and modified it to do what I want, but I am not able to get it to work.

The sample includes this Module in Namespace System.Web.Mvc.Html but when I add the namespace declaration to this module everything in the rest of the project goes haywire. For example, each of my models has a Primary Key property that is a Guid datatype and as soon as I add the namespace above to the module, I get several errors stating that System.Guid is not defined among other similar errors.
I've tried to import my project namespace into a view in order to use the custom helper, but then I get an error that says Overload resolution failed because no 'LabelFor' is most specific for these arguments.I am trying to avoid having to specify a DisplayName for every PascalCase property I have in many models.

I need to install a windows service via an .msi for many tablets which is nooooo problem. The problem is, the tablets currently have the service running which was installed by installutil. So when my installer runs, regardless of Remove Previous Version is true, it stops stating the service already exists and to uninstall it from Add/Remove Programs.So I wrote a console app which preceeds the primary output as follows:

I am looking for a way to tell when a tab has taken focus. I tried the gotfocus call but it doesn't seem to get called when I click on the tab. Did a quick search on google but can't seem to find the answer.

install.mdiparent to me and then show.
It doesnt show the form.
Its because of the tab control. So i tried to send the tab control to the back, and the install form to the front. that still doesnt work.
Anyway to set the tab page as the parent container?
