I have a custom bordered groupbox with a different bordercolor as the default. I found the code on the net. It works, but when I drag the groupbox on a tabcontrol, the border goes through the text. Why? How can I fix it? Here the code:
Public Class mygroupbox
Inherits GroupBox
Private BorderColor As Integer = 9922355
Public Sub New()
Visual Studio 2010 (vb.net window form application)
Access 2010 database
Form1 holds a datagridview bound to bindingSource
I pass this binding source (current selected row) to edit form edit form contains 2 tabs On form_Load of edit form:
Private Sub frmEditCust_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load 'TODO: This line of code loads data into the 'AutoBillDataSet.Customer' table. You can move, or remove it, as needed.
I updated a VS2008 vb.net application to VS2010 targeting the .Net 3.5 framework. This application has a windows form that contains a tab control. This tab control contains 6 tab pages. The tab control's tab pages contain group boxes. The group boxes have their anchor property set to Top, Bottom, Left and Right. The tab control's anchor property is also set to Top, Bottom, Left and Right.
When I open this form in VS2010 and resize the form, the tab control is automatically resized. The group boxes inside each tab page appear to automatically resize. If I close the form and immediately reopen it and click through each tab page; the first tab page's group box is resized, but each of the other tab pages's group box has not been resized.
I reported this issue through Microsoft Connect - [URL]. This worked in VS2003, VS2005, VS2008 but was broken in VS2010. I really want the behavior that existed in the previous versions of visual studio. Right now, I have to manually resize each individual group box every time I bring up the form in the designer.
I have a Custom Groupbox that overrides the OnPaint event to do some custom drawing, backgrounds, etc. The problem I have is that when I use it in an application and want to draw text on the control, it gets drawn first, then immediately afterwards the OnPaint from the control gets called and draws on top of the text. Is there any way to get the text drawn after the control's OnPaint?
I'm fairly experienced with making user controls and have never had this happen to me before. All of my custom properties (gloss opacity, border color, header color 1 and header color 2) are all grayed out in the properties window on the form designer when I try to add my groupbox to a form.
Here's my Imports System.Drawing.Drawing2D Public Class DanGroupBox Inherits ContainerControl Dim _GlossOpacity As Integer = 50 Dim _HeaderBackColor1 As Color = Color.Silver [Code] .......
Is there anyway to add custom styles to a tabcontrol? Like the tabs themselves I want to have a different background to the normal one. Just so I can style it to look nice
I'm using Microsoft Visual Basic 2010 Express and I've been trying to make an application, a word processor, which has it's own custom tabs, I'm not making a new control, instead using a trackbar and adding richtextboxes to a panel for add tab and removing them for remove tab. and when the user changes the value of the trackbar, the richtextboxes too get changed by using the bringtofront property of the richtextbox with the index that is the same as the trackbar value. basically, as you drag the trackbar, the rtbs should get changed here is the code: the following is for a timer that keeps updating the number of rtbs, etc. [Code]
I tried to make a 'custom' tabcontrol such that when I click Button1, panel1 is shown, and when I click Button2, panel2 is shown. But if I have a lot of panels then it'll be very messy when creating the gui at design time.(There'll be many panels overlapping each other.
I'm just not able to add a custom TabControl to my project. I have found a custom tabControl here: [URL]. The CustomTab consists out of 4 .vb files. Normally I would add a component (.dll or exe) to my project. I tried adding the 4 .vb files but unfortunately no CustomTabControl.
Wondering if its possible to move the tabrect areas? For example:
[Code]....
I can already paint the tabs to the new location, but not sure if I have to override onmousedown or onmouseclick or what to have the tab selection area match up with the new painting. I haven't found any example of what I am wanting to do.
I can only add 4 linklabels no matter how big is the groupbox, i tried autoscroll but nothing. How can i do to store minimum 20 linklabels in a groupbox? Here is the whole code i used:
When you INHERIT from TabControl to create a different version of the TabControl, then BUILD the designer will add 2 TabPagesby default when you add your new TabControl from the ToolBox to a Form.
Here using VB .Net 2008. I seem to be having trouble getting group boxes to appear when I click a radio button.
For example:
CODE:
This indeed brings up the first radio button however I have other groupboxes underneath which with the same code will not appear when the radio button is checked.
Eg:
CODE:
The second groupbox does not appear and is directly behind the first groupbox. The Top code doesn't seem to be working either.
Can a vscrollbar be used in a groupbox. I have a group box with lots of items in it, but my program window is not long enough to diplay all of it. I wan to tuse the scroll bar in the groupbox.
This is what I would like to achieve:To create a custom messagebox, with varying number of buttons with custom .Text descriptions, and other features. I intended to have a property array that would be redim-ed and have values (.Text values) set by the calling class:
I came across this great article on creating a custom datagridview column which creates a graph-like effect in the cells of a custom datagridview column:[URL]..Does anyone know how you would edit this to format the number in the cell as a percentage? And does anyone know how you would set this up to take 0 values which do not create any graph effects at all.I have been trying to do this but keep getting errors.
I was trying to block the closing of a custom combo box popup window in my custom DataGrid. The popup window comes by pressing F4 or ALT+DOWN keys in my datagrid which is getting closed if I press the down arrow for the first time, after showing the first value in the combo box as selected. Next time onwards, if I press the F4 key and down arrow, I can move to any item in the popup window and select the item using keyboard and in that case, the popup window is not getting closed till I press the ENTER key or selection using the Mouse. Is there any specific reason for this behaviour or something is missing in my code part? [code]...

how to specify a custom icon for display in the toolbox window when you create your own custom control? Something other than the dreaded "gearbox" icon.
I have a need to add 16 radio buttons to a groupbox but I want to be able to select 2 radiobuttons per groupbox. (2 vertical columns of 8 radio buttons each) The radiobuttons are created dynamically and each set of eight have different names to distinguish them. Do I really have to create 2 groupboxes and put each set of 8 in each groupbox and put those groupboxes into my parent groupbox? Is that it with radio buttons...if they are all in 1 groupbox then there is no way to select more than one at once?
I want to clear all of the text boxes in a groupbox without hard coding them all. I tried the following snippet, but it also clears all of the form labels which I would like to keep. For Each TextBox In GroupBox1.Controls TextBox.Text = "" Next

In my card game program, I have used 4 main GroupBoxes to act as dialogue boxes. Some contain additional GroupBoxes to house such things as RadioButtons, TextBoxes and CheckBoxes.Software places them when and where needed, so I usually move them apart in the Design screen to keep them all visible at once. However, with each new GroupBox I added to the program, their behaviour became increasingly vexing. In the design window, they are not allowed to overlap, or they will either partially or completely disappear. When they disappear, I have to find them with the Properties Viewer (when selected, the 4 sizing blocks appear and I can tease the drag symbol to appear).Worse, when my program is running, a GroupBox left in the Design mode in an "unfavoured location" (for lack of a better term) will refuse to appear when called.
I have single stepped past the code that positions the GroupBox and makes it visible and I have noted that the top and left positions are correct, but when I let the mouse hover over the word 'Visible' in the line "GroupBox1.Visible = True" the popup reports it as False. There is nothing I can do at run-time to make the GroupBox appear. I must return to the Design window and try moving it to a more favourable location.
