I'm working on small project for my site... basicly we have over 600 memembers.. and every day new member registers as we can keep of track of all the new members we would like to do the following
By CLicking Button Importing members.php list in to our program so we can see all the new members that have registerd
This is good for our modirator so they can keep an eye out on new members
SO basicly
I click button and my program grabs my user list from my website and puts it in my list box ( but program will have to go to page 2 then 3 and so on and so on )
I have a VB Web Site project that has recently (and mysteriously) stopped importing the "System" namespace by default.
I'm having to either place an Imports System line at the top of each code behind, or preface everything with System, which is fairly annoying, not to mention redundant. I can't for the life of me figure out how to get the System namespace back to being imported by default.
I've already checked to see that WINDOWSMicrosoft.NETFrameworkv2.0.50727CONFIGweb.config contains the <add namespace="System"/> line--it does. That was my best lead.
I have references to several namespaces within the System namespace in the <assemblies> node (e.g. System.Design, System.Web.Extensions of my website's web.config. There is no <namespaces> node. This has not been changed recently.
Im trying to search the entire active directory to look for a group and then see if the current logged on user is listed, then take an action based on that result.So far i have the below code which doesnt return the users who are members of the group MyTestGroup. How to make a text file importer, I want to know how to import list of names from the text file to import it to the listbox component by using browse commands and button. And by using webbrowse component to load the link [URL] and insert the name selected from listbox from loaded names on the text box of my url and click the button signup.
And after the name is added and clicked the signup button from my web automatically to remove the names from the listbox. What I want is: To scan a website every 15 mins or so, (craigslist in this case), and email myself any new posts that come up. I know I need to use WebClient, but I never used that before. Another question would be how to only email when a new post is up and not receive the same email every 15 mins.

However, i cant seem to be able to specify multiple display members.

I was working on a project lately where my manager asked me to develop a vb application that can download files of the website [url]...
i was thinking if i can make a form that display all downloadable files on the website with a checkBox next to every file so that the user can check which files he wants to download and proceed.
So I have a list of names in a .txt file. Where is a place I can type in all the names I want and press save and get a link so they can see the list. Then I can remove a name and press save and the name will be gone. And or add a name. So basically I need a website where I can type something and keep it uptodate. I've tried ripway but after you edit the list and save it it doesn't change.

Lamentably VB .NET in VS 2008 does not seem to be smart enough to distinguish betweem the two (which is odd, because there is no such problem in VS 2003, or in C# in VS 2008) because of it's lack of case sensitivity. Or possibly because of the fact that ikvmc emits an assembly compiled for the 1.1 run time... I'm not sure. I'm also not quite sure how you would resolve this particular issue and given the time sensitivity of this project I do not have the time to learn C# or Java to an extensive degree.
I am trying to import a CSV file to SQL Server 2005. The CSV file has several fields, but I am not sure of the best way to import them. This is what I have so far.
I have an ASP.net 3.5 website and I am using vb.net in VWD 2008 Express, I am also using MS SQL Server 2008 Express, I used ajax tabs and a textBox characters counter control developed by [URL]..The database is attached with MS SQL Server Management Studio Express and the files are stored in the SQL default "Data" folder.
The whole project's code and forms are stored in a folder in my E drive. I need to hand the whole project to another coworker who have to finish it, please describe in steps how can i make my website portable (like i can put it all in a folder that he can carry around in his flash disk).One more thing, I already finished my side of the project, I need to ship it out to this other programmer.
Can anyone suggest something like a: Checklist or Must Do list to achieve this?PS: I have had a problem trying to move the project from one server to the other, the project seems to look for the dlls of the AJAX control and the textBox counter where i originally unzipped the folders in which they cam in, which i think was on my desktop, although when i added those controls to the Tools tab, i created a new tab, then i choose the dll from the where i unzipped the controls source code, aint that enough?
I'm able to create a List(Of String) containing a local directory structure of a LOCAL folder. I'm wondering how I would go about getting this structure for a website, in order to get a listing of all files of a particular type (for example: all .html files)
Something along the lines of what Xenu does would be perfect, but I don't know how to get started. I was thinking of doing something with parsing out "/" of the URL, but then you'd need to know the "deepest" file that exists on the site.. which you won't know...
Is there a way to get a folder listing of each directory of a site without having FTP access or something? (I'm assuming no due to security risks)
My only other option would be to crawl all hyperlinks within the site, and storing all the "internal" ones, but I don't know how to set up that loop, or how to know when it has reached the "deepest" level.
Kinda like when you delete a remote folder from FileZilla, it will traverse all sub-diretories first and delete those files.
I have a VB.NET project in Visual Studio 2008 that I created a specialized addin for. The addin prompts the user to select a database table, takes a template form class's files, copies them to another directory within the project, and renames the form class within the copied files. It then opens the new form and adds controls to it based on the fields in the database table.
The copying of the template form causes the background compiler to give 'duplicate member' errors, such as "Private Sub InitializeComponents(...) has multiple definitions with identical signatures," even though I renamed the files of the new form and the class name within them. Sometimes these errors go away before the new form is opened, but when they stick around the new form doesn't open correctly, and it throws an error instead. I implemented some code to wait until there are zero errors in the error list before trying to open the new form. This has helped sometimes, but for some reason sometimes the errors don't go away at all until the addin is closed.
How to copy the template form and rename the copy without the background compiler ever noticing duplicate members. If that's not possible, then perhaps someone has an alternative?
