I'm trying to list all files in my desktop folder.But strUserDir value is "0" any ideas why?

I need to obtain a list of desktop icons and add them to a ListView. I'm currently doing this:

It gives me alot of information that I dont need, I know that I can use:
request.Method = WebRequestMethods.Ftp.ListDirectory
Which only retrieves the file name but when I try to change it, it gives me an error. Error number 550. ListDirectory so I can only get the file name?
The code uses dynamically backgroundworkers which all workers great, but with one problem. If you were to look at line:
For Each folderPath In File.ReadAllLines("file path here")
You would see that it loops the text file, and starts background work.
The problem is that it does not list the files in order.
For example were you see "file path here" that were you put the file path.
The text file itself would look something like this:
C: est
C:VB
The program starts listing file from the C:est then goes back to C:VB then back to C:est.
I know the reason why, but I can't stop it. I tried pausing that code inside the loop, but with no luck. How would be able to list the files in order?

Basically I load a list of files (path/clubs/) and it lists them into a list box as club1.adf club2.adf etc. I then select club1.adf for example from the list box, and hit a button. View 10 RepliesI have a SQL Server table with a list of files (path + filename), and a folder with multiple layers and files in each layer. I'm looking for a way to reconcile the two without having to process the list twice. Currently, I'm doing this:

Is there a better way to do this? I'd like to avoid converting all the matching files (of which most will be) to FileInfo objects twice. Since I'm a T-SQL developer first, I'm picturing something like an OUTER JOIN of the two lists where they don't match. Something LINQ-ish?

and that displays only the file name, like text.txt but i want it to display C:/Text.txt and all the files in the subfolders too, like C:/Program Files/Test2.txt but i just get test.txt from only the c:/ .

When switching to a new desktop it starts a new instance of my app in that desktop (works) and on the form load event it says process.start("explorer.exe") <- here is the problem. It only shows a window not the actually bar.Also this may be important it shows the window, but when I navigate to explorer.exe 'C:Windowsexplorer.exe' and open it there. The explorer bar does show up.
