I am having trouble loading and displaying my .rdlc report file in my reportviewer. I've been all over the internet and nothing worked.I think it might be because i am using vb.net 2008.
Also I am wondering if there is a click event in Microsoft Reports or in Crystal Reports where I can link certain data in my report to other files in my project, eg. form2.vb

View 1 RepliesI need to know if the report displayed in the ReportViewer control was printed by the user and on that basis to maintain a log of printed documents. Originally, in VB6, with ActiveReports performed it with a very simple instruction:If Me.Printer.Status = ddJSCompleted Then...
I can not find a similar property in ReportViewer. Is there any way to tell if a document was printed?
Where can I find resources on authoring Reports. Say, I have a VB project and I want to add reports to it, do I have to add a ReportViewer for each report or can I use one ReportViewer for all?
What is the difference between a Report created using the Report Server Project of the Business Intelligence Projects and one created using the Visual Basic/Reporting Project tab? Which one is more suited for creating reports?Only performance counts!
I created a Report in Crystal Report Designer. In this report, there is a place for image. I want to insert image in the report at runtime (not desgin-time). Because in my application, there is a pool of image files from which a user can select image. Is there any function in .NET, that can insert image(.jpg) at run time in report from file
like---: i am atteching the file in my query....Attached image(s)
When I load the report from my c: drive it works fine:
[code]...
Now when I load the report from solution explorer it tells me "Load report failed. The system cannot find the file specified"
[code]...
I have added the report to solution explorere and part of my project
i do not know why data type image on ms sql is not working ! so i choose to use varchar(max) as my datatype to store images.. but i do now know how to load it on crystal report..
View 1 RepliesCan you look at my coding and let me know what I'm missing or doing wrong?I have a SSRS report that is called from a ReportViewer control and the ProcessingMode for this control is Remote. The report also has 1 parameter in it's DataSet.In the code I placed a MsgBox to make sure the code is finding the parameter and returning the parameter name. I am trying to stick the value of 10 into the parameter for playerID 10. Data for this player does exist.
I believe I need to add some more code to make this work but I'm not sure what else to add.
When the code executes the report is displayed but no data is shown in the report.

I am trying to display a report in a ReportViewer. I am using the BindingSource component in which I specified my Data Source. I set the Data Source Instance to the BindingSource. Both Data Source and Data Source Instance are visiblein the ReportViewer Tasks.
However, I keep getting the following error message: An error occured during local report processing. An error has occured during report processing. A data source instance has not been supplied for the data source...
I want to create a report in Reportviewer in Visual Basic .Net (2005). This report generates a list of Userid's but I want the user to enter a userid group which it should display only the users within that group.
I created a View in SQL 2000 and also a stored procedure. The code for my stored procedure is described below
CREATE procedure dbo.display_users_summary
@user_ccsm smallint AS
set nocount off

Not sure if this is an IDE issue or General VB issue, but its my best guess ;)
I have installed the ReportViewer with SP1 as recommended by this page: [URL]. I am running VB Express '08.
I added ReportViewer into my toolbox. I opened a new form and dragged the ReportViewer on to the form. I set Dock to Fill Clicked on Create New Report in the Quick Tasks
Nothing happens...
Searched for a few hours and read a ton of stuff from '06 through '09 and it seems I could not find an answer to this problem... Something about Express not having a report deisgner maybe? I have the SQL Buisiness Intel Studio installed and can design reports in there all day long. I was hoping that I could use this report viewer/designer to access similar if not the same reports in my local application project. My application will be based on a local SQL Exp. db as the data source and I am trying to avoid buying anything.
I am using VS2010. I am trying to make reports using Report Viewer. This is how I have arranged my fields (using Table).
I want to make it look like this
I am using the vs2008 ReportViewer control, and I'd like to filter the date range on the report by selected it from (2) DatePicker controls. There are a couple of ways to do it I'm sure, but I would like to write the filter as an expression in the reportviewer designer. How can I target a control(s) on my form to filter the expression through?
View 2 RepliesThe report sits on the Report Server and requires ONE parameter "GROUPNAME". my code gives me a cast error when I try to set the parameters.

View 11 RepliesI have a report viewer that i would like to display different data in depending on the report button that the user clicks. The data is stored in access databases. I am able to retreive the data and display the initial report but i have not been able to change the report/data that is being displayed.
View 1 RepliesWithin vb.net is there a way I can dynamically create multiple reports using the same rdlc but with different SQL statements. So in essence I want to write a loop that will open the same report multiple times within the viewer which will end up having many pages..
View 1 RepliesI'm hoping someone can provide me with some help in regards to this, here's a quick overview of what I'm doing: I'm using user32.dll API on a 2 second timer to detect which window is open, FindWindow(), once I've found the window I'm looking for, I use FindWindowEx() to get the child window of the previously found one.
So I've got my window which contains 2 items. An image, and an Input box.
2 questions (Minor, and Major)
Minor: Is there a better way to monitor when a particular window opens?
Major: How would I extract the image that is held on the form? And then insert text into the input box?
Note: The image is variable - it's polled from a website.
I am new in VB 2005 I have problem loadind data in report viewer ,data loaded suceessfully but it is not the current data. Deatailed: I am entering production details into the database (access 2007) .it will add successfully. Then i open production report there is no current updated data.It will show when i close the vb 2005 and reopen it.

I am using the Microsoft ReportViewer 2005 in one of my VB.NET apps and a couple of users are having image display problems (red X) on the reports. They have the correct version of the WinForms DLL on their system and the app does verify that the image file exists before passing the location to the ReportViewer. This problem was reported on XP and Vista. No other users have reported this problem and it is not something that I can reproduce, so I am stumped. This is a sample file path that is passed to the ReportViewer,
Code:file:///C:UsersRandyDocumentsLisano EnterprisesDerbyDMVImagesUS PresidentsGrantUlysses.jpg
My app provides sample images and they can't get these to display either.
I have created an application using vb.net 2008 and for reports Crystal Reports Basic for Visual Studio 2008 but the problem is, when I run the application in another machine away from developing box, I get the Load report failed notice. I don't have any idea on how I should approach this issue. I tried installing the CRRedist2008_x86 and CRRedist2005_x86 but still the problem won't go away.

I have a picture box on SSRS. I want to load a picture to it, for exam from D:\Pictures\TV1.jpg (actually user will decide it by using OpenFileDialog)I have set the Source to external and in Value expression I tired
="D:\Pictures\TV1.jpg"
and
Also
="/<d:\pictures>\TV1.jpg"
but my picture box shows error picture in both cases.
I have put folders in my resources folder and I am trying to load the pictures when the user presses the right arrow key. The code I am using is:
picCharacter.Image = Image.FromFile("ResourcesRight MovementRight-01.png")
What do I put in front of the "Resources.." that would make it load it from the projects folder?
I have a contextmenustrip with 10 options on it. Each option calls an image from my resources and changes the background image of my form. When i select an option how do i save it and make sure thats the image that loads next time i run my application ?

The thing i was worried about was the seccurity but i think i have it now, im using a program called Hamachi that gives you a IP through them that links to ur computer w/o accually giving out your IP.
