Loading A Picture Into A Picture Box Control?

Mar 15, 2011

My plan is to use a database to hold her recipes and create a user interface with search controls and different stuff, this way she will be able to add new recipe's and the program will have a much more modern feel to it.

My question is, I have added a picture box control to the new recipe form and when I click on the picture box I want the program to load "my pictures" and let me select a picture to load into the picture box, like you can on ebay when you are selling stuff, you can select your picture and it loads into the picture box.

As far as starting this off, I can add a double click event on the picture box control, this will trigger whatever code I need to use to load the open file dialog.

Can I use simaler code that I used for a text editor program I wrote for opening saved documents?

Loading A .gif Picture On Windows Form (.NET)?

Sep 1, 2011

Problem is, i do have two forms. Form-1 is the parent and Form-2 is the child. Form-2 is having so many executable functions built in. Therefore when i am calling form-2 from form-1, always that takes few seconds to upload(although negligible).

Now I got a very nice ajex_loading.gif picture (moving) form Google and was thinking why not showing that pic in between my form loading process. Added PictureBox property. Telling it to show()...but still that is feeling shy at me

Loading An Image From Browser Into Picture Box?

I have this url as an example: [URL] As one can see, it returns a nice picture--just what I need. Now, I need to put that "picture" inside a picture box or perhaps save it to a file. I would prefer the first as I believe it would be faster. Note the picture comes to us in a .gif format. I use vb 2005.

VS 2010 - Image Resources - Make A Picture Box And Import An Image

Sep 17, 2010

I made a picture box and imported an image named Title.jpg. Later I made adjustments to the picture and imported it again without deleting the original(mistake). The new one had the name automatically changed to Title1.jpg. So I deleted the original image from resources and renamed Title1.jpg back to Title.jpg.

Now I got two problems. First, only Title.jpg is on the solution explorer, but Title1.jpg(along with Title.jpg) still pops up on the resource list when I click on Image property of the picture box. There's only the name and no picture, and I don't see a delete option. How do I get rid of it? Second, even though I changed the image to the new Title.jpg in the picture box, the old one is displayed when running the app. What's up with that?

VS 2008 - Freeing Up System Resources

Feb 24, 2010

I'm getting a collection of processes, adding them to a ListView, and deleting them from it when needed. All of this is done in a timer. The problem, is that after a while, the app freezes. I think this is because I'm not disposing any variables.

Here's my
VB.NET
Private _processes As New List(Of String)()
Dim killedProcs As New List(Of String)(_processes)
Dim processes As Process() = System.Diagnostics.Process.GetProcesses()
For Each proc As Process In processes
[Code] ....
I tried disposing of my process list, but the IDE wouldn't let me. That's the only thing I thought would need disposing since it is what hold all of the processes.
