VS 2008 - Possible To Retrieve Data From Webpage?

I wanted to create an event that when I hit a button, it will check if the webbrowser has reached THISPAGE.html.
If webbrower1.Url.toString = "thispage.html" then 'this line may have been webbrowser.Url.toString("thispage.html") cant remember I tried both ways neither worked.
do something

But I get a null exception error.
My other question is , is it possible to pull data or text from a website like through the webbrowser control thing and place it inside a textbox or label or something like that?

I have used .NET and ShDocVw for years to grab data off webpages without any issues I couldn't overcome. This website has me beat though. It seems like such as easy task to grab the titles and other information off a library search page, but I can't see the data to be able to grab it. Usually, I just look in the DOM, but the data wasn't there. I did a view source, but the data wasn't there.

The MsgBox() at the end shows the response, which as I've added to my script, echos the result from the $user and $pass variables which are supposed to retrieve those details being written to the stream above, but they show up empty.
I'm retrieving those values by doing: $user = $_POST["user"]; $pass = $_POST["pass"];

I am having a bit of trouble figuring out how to collect a piece of information from a web page. Here is the web page I want to retrieve the information from:

I would like to retrieve the first "Price" of the item and collect the price every time I execute the code. I understand how to retrieve the source code of the webpage and split strings but how would I retrieve that price?

it retrieves all of the text on the document. But I want to retireve all of the visible text from a webpage. Like for Google would be: Screen reader users, click here to turn off Google Instant.

auto filling data into webpages. I need to write a server side application mostly a console host app that makes some queries to the SQL Server database and gets a list of lets say students and their grades.There is a third party website that gets updated at the moment some peoples working and filling that data manually.
I need to write a program that will basically open that webpage, login if required, navigate to certain page, click on certain tab, fill the data and hit the submit button. I don't think this part is that hard but the trouble comes with a client side dialog box. At the moment there is a client side dialogbox that shows up when you hit the submit button confirming the action and I need to press OK on that automatically.
I am allowed to write a windows application if not a console application and also use the web browser control to load the webpage rather than opening and interacting with the browser. If this makes it easier than so be it.

I used to be a web developer in vb.net 2008 , now i get involved in some projects with application development. Which is the right way i mean the proffesional way to connect to database , syntax a query and bind the result to datagrid?I see 2 ways , the first is using the wizard i mean drag to the form the databinder from the toolbox and follow the wizard step by step , the second way is the same way i used in web development i get the connection string from app.config , syntax a query inside my code and follow manually steps to retrive the data from a database.which way to use for a large application projects?

I wanted to ask you something which is bugging me for a while. I work an IT dept at a local bank and I got instructions to make an application which should retrieve some financial info from a financial banking stats page.
The webpage can be accessed through [URL].. and the info can be seen in the web browser but I cannot extract them because the info is not available in the source code of the page.It seems it's generating the info dynamically using a jsquery.js file.
I was wondering if it's possible to make an app which uses some cache or something (I guess the the page is saved temporary somewhere on the disk for the current session) to retrieve that data in vb.net?

My program so far reads a certain webpage's source code and places it in a textbox. This much has already been accomplished.
Now I need to pick certain strings out of the rather large amount of text data and have the lines stored in variables, but the trick of it is, the exact string is unknown. The exact function should be, that the code finds certain tags from the source code, say <td> and </td> and takes the string data in between those tags, what ever it may be.

I wanna send POST data to the current web page viewed in my webbrowser. It's for logging into a page so the fields are "Username" and "Password". And then I might have to make it press the "Log in" button?
EDIT: It was easier than I thought when you don't need to do it silent in the background.

I have programme which contains two list box. when exe is launched it retrieves data from web references [from web services] and immidially it creates folder of cache so when next time exe. is launched it displays data so fast in listboxes. and if cache folder is deleted and exe. is again launched it takes some time to retreave data and again it create cache folder.. how can be this done. if i wish to added controls in cache

I am trying to solve an issue in my application where the following exception is occurring: there is already an open datareader associated with this command which must be closed first. I am using TableAdapters, which maintain their own DataReaders, and everything seems to work fine unless I am interacting with one of my background workers.
In my code, I shadow the Item property of my collections so that I can retrieve the actual data from the database if needed. Here is a sample:

Now each reference to the Item get property instantiates its own DataAdapter, so I am confused as to how the same DataReader will ever be used in this scenario. Is there something I am missing? All the TableAdapters do in fact use the same connection object, but I wouldn't think that would be a problem

I have three tables in SQL server which I would like to show and access on a form. Table 1 contains account data, address, contact details etc. Table two contains data attached to a Person, tel no , Mobile no, Email etc. Table three contains details on what awards the person holds, i.e. one person can hold several awards.
Therefore I have a one many relationship between the first two tables and a one many relationship between the second two tables. This is set up in SQL
The first two tables are shown on a form, table 1 via a set of text boxes, table 2 via a datagrid control.
I would like the functionality whereby I could select a row in the datagrid showing the persons name and find the Persons_ID number then use that as a filter to a second datagrid view so that only the selected persons awards show in the datagrid.

I have the following code to open a webpage:

The page that opens is in xml and in that xml there is the "page_count" that I need to pick out so I can tell my macro when to stop looping. I have dimmed it as "c" in the code above. Following is the XML.

<page_size>100</page_size>
<page_count>4</page_count>
Somehow I need c = "4", which is the "page_count". Does anyone know how I can pick out the "4" from the xml on my page?
