i want to take a screenshot of a webpage in vb, but i dont want the whole webpage, just a section. More specifically...This:

nvm the mix-match points
The webpage will be inside a webbrowser control. So it needs to use the web browser control to take the pic.And i just want the image to save into a folder called 'Accounts'.
I knew everything I needed to save an image, so I type in my code, and yet another error pops up. Here's the bit of code:
screenshot.Save(CaptureMain.picLocation.ToString, Imaging.ImageFormat.Bmp, "Screenshot")
And, the error's kind of lengthly...

when the timer hits a 2 second interval the picturebox on form 3 gets a new image from the screen shot that form 4 takes off of form4's area. i want the user to select a folder with the "folder browser dialog" and i want each frame capture to be saved to the folder (every 2 seconds) that the user chooses as "1.jpg, 2.jpg, 3.jpg" etc .
make a program in VB.net Ultimate 2010 that will take screenshot of the current desktop and save it to MS Access Database 2000 in a single click of button.
The challenge is the form. Form must be hide first before taking the screenshot so it will capture only the current desktop. After that, it will automatically saved to the MS Access database 2000. I hope someone can help me out of this stuff.
I'm working on a UNO (Msn-based) online gaming tool - you know the card game. It's the second version with more features for UNO fans. I would like to get the screenshot function to work.
It's just as simple as this: The UNO main window
The screenshot viewer shows the screenshot of the active window (which appears by clicking on "Screenshot"): (This form is named as "Screenshot", the Picture Box "myPictureBox")
My question is, which code do I need to bind these functions. I think the pictures are describing this good enough. (The "save screenshot"-button is ToolStripButton1, the button for making screenshot is ToolStripButton10).
I picked vb.net for this question since it's the only prgramming language I am fairly familair with, but if C++ or something else is more suited for this, I am willing to learn something new.What I am trying to do is:Retrieve text from database (this already works in vb.net) and copy it to clipboard Switch primary screen to the external application I want to work with (example: word or open office) Emulate key-press "Enter" Paste text and hit enter again Emulate key-press CTRL and then emulate a click on a pre-defined spot on the screen (like 500pixels from left, 740pixels from top). Save screenshot, using a second value from the database as the filename (the naming part should be easy) Emulate another click on another pre-defined spot Repeat for next text in database.I wouldn't know where to start, though. I guess the most important part of what I'm trying to achieve is; switching focus to an external application and emulate keypresses and mouse clicks on it.
View 1 Repliesi just made a small notepad type program. The function for opening and saving are working perfectly but i want it so that i could save the ".txt" as my own filetype lets say ".tox" or something.
View 1 RepliesI have a requirement for a timer that has the following behaviour:
Millisecond accuracy I want the tick event handler to only be called once the current tick handler has completed (much like the winforms timer)I want exceptions on the main UI thread not to be swallowed up by the thread timer so this requires Invoke/Send instead of BeginInvoke/PostI've played around with CreateTimerQueueTimer and had some success but at the same time had problems with code reentrance and/or locks when deleting the timer.
I decided to create my own timer so that I could get a better idea of what is going on under the hood so that I can fix the locking and reentrance problems. My code seems to work fine leading me to believe that I may as well use it. Does it look sound? I've put in a check if the timer is deleted to make sure that the deletion is complete before the timer can be created again. Does that look ok?
Note: I should say that I call timeBeginPeriod(1) and timeEndPeriod(1) inorder to achieve the millisecond accuracy.(The following code is converted from vb.net to c#, so apologies for any missed mess-ups}
ETA: I've found a problem with it. If the timer is running at an interval of 1 millisecond, and I call, say, Change(300), it locks up @ while (this.DeleteRequest). This must be because the TimerLoop is in the this.CallbackDelegate.Invoke(null) call.

I want to make a program that will take a screenshot inside the bounds of a rectangle. Is there a way to do this? I don't want to use sendkeys{"(prtsc)"} because that doesn't take a screenshot of only an area on the form.
View 11 RepliesIs it possible to use a timer to delay code? For example:

I'm using Visual Basic 2010 and I'm trying to make a countdown timer and after I close the program the time which is counted to be saved. For example if I make a countdown timer to count 24 hours and I close the program at like 23:58:48 and then I start it again I want to continue the coutdown at the time it stops or to continue during the close time.Here is the code that i use:
Code:
Private alarmTime As Date
Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click
Me.alarmTime = Date.Now.AddMinutes(1440)
[code]....
So with this code i can save the label text but when i try to make it run from it after the close it turns to somekind of a code and it countdown 50 min and the difference in the input time change it very slightly.
Any way to prevent my application from taking screen shot. I am using this method
If Clipboard.ContainsImage = True Then Clipboard.Clear()
If this is correct? And also what about screen capture application they take the screen shot without using clipboard what is logic behind it and if there is any way to resolve it?
pretty much you can understand only form the title what I want to do...I'm trying to make a screenshot tool that when will save the jpeg and will make it in lower quality or compress it.
Try
Dim ScreenSize As Size = New Size(My.Computer.Screen.Bounds.Width, My.Computer.Screen.Bounds.Height)

Im currently writing a sort of Tamagotchi game or "virtual pet". It's really basic, it runs on timers and has a health meter, hygiene, happiness etc. The problem I have is when the program is closed it obviously resets the properties back to the origional settings. Is there a way I can save the state of the program so when the user opens it back up it is as the same as of the point when it was closed?[Just had an idea, would I set a timer to periodically save the value of the variables to a database and then have them load the next time the user opens the program, for example if the health was 50% on closing or at intervals it would save the health into a column in a db table then when the user re opens the program call that db?]
View 5 RepliesQuick question - if I have a timer set to 5000 (5 seconds) and the code in the timer takes longer than 5 seconds to run because of sql stuff, will the timer wait until the code is done till it fires again?
View 3 RepliesI'm wondering what exactly is the difference System.Timers.Timer and System.Windows.Forms.Timer???
View 4 RepliesI have a form with multiple checkboxes what I would like to do is to have it that if someone selects any combination of the checkboxes they could save those selections by pressing a button named save options or something to that affect it would then save those selections then they could load them by pressing another button load options and run them with another button named run options (or the box that loads could run too) not sure the best way to do it the goal is ultimately to have a button that allows the state of the checkboxes to be saved and then run as a custom option.
how would I do this I cannot find anything on the Internet ?
I have a custom timer that acts like a Wait for some number of milliseconds and then execute a function. It looks like this:
Public Class MyTimer
Inherits Timers.Timer
Public Event Done()
[code]....
(So, every one second, Timer checks if TextBox1 is empty. If it isn't, it displays a message box and stops checking.)I get a warning that Timer is used before it has been assigned a value, but it is used in the statement that assigns its value. The timer's interval is required to be greater than zero.
I have this code for custom settings:
Code:
Imports System.Configuration
Public Class setLV
Inherits ApplicationSettingsBase
Private fpListViewItems As List(Of ListViewItem)
ReadOnly Property ListViewItems() As List(Of ListViewItem)
[Code] .....
It works great for saving one Listview and its items but I need to save multiple Listviews and their items. I have no idea how to accomplish this.
I'm creating something that has save files. For the most part, it's just saving objects with 4 values.[code]...
View 3 RepliesI'm saving a bitmap as a jpeg using: savedImage.Save(fileName, System.Drawing.Imaging.ImageFormat.Jpeg) which is resulting in a JPEG with a 96dpi x 96dpi resolution and a 24-bit color depth. Is there a way in VB .NET 1.1 to change this to say a 72 x 72 dpi resolution and a 16-bit color depth?
View 7 Replies(using VB.Net 2008) I am trying to save one of my custom types to the application settings. I've read a variety of opinions on the internet about whether this possible.
When creating an app setting, none of my types appear when browsing. However, previously I needed to save off one of my datasets, and it worked simply by hand-entering it as the setting type (ie, I just typed "MyProjectName.DatasetName"). However, when I try the same trick with another custom type that isn't a dataset, I get a "type was not found" error. So I'm a little confused, can the program "find" some custom types and not others?
