I am using a ToolStipMenueItem so that when the user right clicks on the form a menu pops up.I'm not sure how to control the location of this popup menu. Sometimes is pops up where the cursor is, in another case it pops up in the top left of the form.I cannot find any 'position' properties - how do I control it's position?
View 3 RepliesAfter a little research, I managed to get a working Help button added to my form. I did this by setting the MinimizeBox and MaximizeBox properties of the form to false, set the ShowHelp property of the form to true and added a HelpProvider component. I then added a string to each control's HelpString property that I want to display help on.
Everything works with one minor exception. When I clcik the help button in the form and then select a control, the HelpString (tooltip) is displayed in the far lower left corner of the screen. I assumed I would see this pop up at the cursor rather than where it is. I cannot seem to find a property to control the position of the HelpString popup.
so i made a from with in it a WebBrowser now i added a Toolstripmenu and added some text in the toolstripmenu how can i make it that when i click in the toolstrip menu to go to an web browser

I was using this old method of creating a bunch of rectangles when I need to get the location of a certain point within a grid so I could draw images on the grid. The thing is, I don't want to use rectangles, I want to be able to just round the location as if I were using rectangles. I need it to be able to round the point (66,70) to (50,50) so if you can imagine a grid and the mouse position being within that square in the grid, I need to get the location of the upper left corner of that square.

I'm working with a Silverlight Popup control (SL4). I would like to update data shown on that popup every time the user opens it (IsOpen=true) by passing a string and calling a Private method located in the Popup control behind code to fetch updated data.
I was hoping to place code to make this happen in the Opened event of the Popup, but such an event does not seem to exist (even though I found some documentation on it).
I have a usercontrol that has a popup that displays another usercontrol when the user selects an item from a listbox. When the parent initializes, all the usercontrols initialize.

Using VB.NET 2010:i'm making a simple "launcher" application for our work applications. I have already created the ToolStripMenu that contains the menus I want. I am looking for a way to create a popup that will be shown like a 'somebody has come online' on msn , nod32 has 'scan results'. Howver I am unable to figure this out with 'tutorials' that dont work or projects that are out of date / canceled. I am looking for something thats being shown above all other apps that are open but without losing control over those apps. The fading etc is not that important I will figure this out when I get there.

These three buttons are on all 6 Tabs, but I don't think they actually have different button clicks for each tab. I have a situation where I would like to display an informational message box on screen when an event takes place but I don't want the user to have to acknowledge the event by having to press the OK button as the machine may or may not be attended at the time the message is displayed. If someone is present they can either acknowledge the event by pressing OK or simply waiting for the specified timeframe has elapsed.
I have created some labels and i need them to display a popup message when you hover the mouse over them at runtime. I searched for a solution but i only found out how to display popups when hovering over a button and also the code for that was overly complicated.

The sites login is in a popup and what appears to be happening is the popup is launching outside my application (has IE in the title). If I enter uers/pass and try to login the information is not being passed back to my webrowser form.
View 5 Repliesi am using an unbound datagridview so i can dynamiclly add rows. all that is working fine. but the grid is not is the location i have coded.. i am using the defualt form as a base then coding the unbound stuff in.. should i just create a blank class file and do everything? the only problem i am having is the grid must bees in the correct location according to the pixel point that i have given it. Right now it is placing the grid at point (0,0) no matter what point is entered on the line for location. so what am i missing??????
