VS 2008 Popup Boxes That Auto-close?

Microsoft's scripting languages (VBScript and JScript) have a POPUP method that allows you to control the time span a message box is displayed on screen before the message box closesI've searched but I do not believe that this functionality (i.e. ability to control the display time) is included in the VB 2008. If I'm wrong can someone point me in the right direction? If I am right and VB2008 only offers a standard message box, can anyone how they have created popup types of messages that only exist for a specified amount of time.
I have a situation where I would like to display an informational message box on screen when an event takes place but I don't want the user to have to acknowledge the event by having to press the OK button as the machine may or may not be attended at the time the message is displayed. If someone is present they can either acknowledge the event by pressing OK or simply waiting for the specified timeframe has elapsed.

If you open up a PDF file and select File > SaveACopy you'll see the Adobe acrobat SaveAs dialog that I'm working with. Typically I'm dealing with it when the PDF is showing in Internet Explorer (I'm automating PDF downloads by controlling the File > SaveAs option).
If the destination file already exists, the dialog will popup a tiny messagebox asking if I want to replace the existing file Yes or No. It is this popup that I'm trying to close, but I can't seem to find it. When I run enumWindows to get all the top level windows, it doesn't show up. That's probably because I can see, in Spy++, that it has a parent window (the Adobe SaveAs dialog box). So i tried running EnumChildWindows to get all the child windows of the Adobe SaveAs dialog - but the popup doesn't show up on this list either (I know this because I did a WM_GettText on each child window and nothing matched the tiny popup).
I'm not sure if FindWindow would do it - but i'm leery of that because, at least on my home computer, both the popup and the Adobe SaveAs window have the same title text, namely "SAVE AS" so i'm not sure which one it would find - in fact I seem to recall I tried that already.

Is there a way to repeat two popup input boxes (in succession) until the user presses cancel?

The input boxes continue to repeat but when I hit cancel nothing happens... I'm sure I'm missing something to tell it when I cancel to go back to the MainForm I just don't know what it is.....

I have VB.net code (2005) that updates an Excel (2003) file but on close I get a pop up from Excel when my code is trying to close it. How can I close and save changes and not get the pop up? ("Save Changes Made").
I tried this:

xlWorkBook.SaveAs(Filename:=excelFileName2, FileFormat:=Excel.XlFileFormat.xlExcel3)
But it renamed the "Sheet1" tab and I got more pop ups from Excel.

i have a few buttons on a form that link to website url's that i would like to login to automatically, But they have a pop-up login that is displayed. I have a text file where i store the user names and passwords and then read them as variables. How can i get them to be entered automatically when i click on the link buttons in my form?

In VS 2008, I built a touch-screen Windows Form aplication for selecting organization names. I have a combo-box with all of the org names.I have a button array with each of the letters of the alphabet wich the user can touch to start populating the combo-box. I have AutoComplete set up so that as the user types, the org names come up and the user can, with just a few taps, select his organization.
Everything functions properly and is really slick, but...The font size in the AutoComplete list is too small and any given entry cannot be easily selected by touch.I can easily increase the font size in the combo-box, but for the life of me I cannot figue out how to change the font size in theAutoComplee list.

I'm not 100% sure where to post this, as I'm making the program in VB.net, however It is linked to access and is getting the information / saving it into there.
I have a customers page and a jobsheet page,
the customers page is where the information on the customer is stored e.g. "Company" ,"First name" and "Last name".
When I Go into jobsheet, I have made it in so that company searches for the record from access so there is a list e.g. "Big W" , "Bunnings" etc, and tied up to the company is a name of the person in that company.
My question (after all the babble) is how can I make it so when I choose "Big W" from the list, it auto fills in the "First name" with 'John' and last name with 'Smith' , and if I choose Bunnings it uses the name associated with that and etc for the other companies.

Im new to vb (used to dreamweaver doing all the work Now im in to progging for pc instead of web LOL
right I have 8 text boxes restricted to 4 characters each, have set the tab order but want to curser to move to the next text box automatically after the 4th character has been entered in each box (if that makes sense!)
An example would be on windows xp setup when you type in the product key the curser moves to the next box after the 5 chars for that box have been entered!

I am writing a program for FEMAP API interface in VB 2008 Express. Some API commands open user dialog boxes which requires yes or OKcancel inputs. So much for automation "Sendkeys" do not work, because code execution stalls at the line which opens the dialog boxes. I need stg that runs in parallel, watches for these dialog boxes, and sends the right keystroke at the right time.

The auto complete dropdown will NOT close, no matter what I do. When I load the form, the dropdown is down with all the options displayed. I can type anything, and the options will narrow down, until an option is selected, then all the options reappear in the list. If I select an option, hit tab, enter, any key or mouse click, the list still doesn't close. If I change the DropDownStyle to DropDown or DropDownList, it works fine.

I am building a form in access database.
I have a combo box which is linked to a query which is looking up a unique reference number from a table called Tbl_Submitted_Requests.
What I need the form to do is auto populate the other text boxes when the user selects the unique reference from the combo box. How can I get the text boxes to auto populate with the data that is associated with each unique reference?

I have set up a notify icon for my form. I want to make it so that when the user clicks the close button that it doesn't close the form it just takes it to shows the notify icon. They can exit the program from the notify icon. Can someone tell me how to keep it running?

I'm trying to use the WebKit-component ([URL]) in VB with the help of Visual Studio 2008. This is running without problems, except for two following two issues:
1. Hints/Tooltips are not shown (e.g. as there usually will appear one if you stay with the mouse over the Google-logo)
2. If there's a popup-window, I don't know how to get the new desired URL.

I'm working with a Silverlight Popup control (SL4). I would like to update data shown on that popup every time the user opens it (IsOpen=true) by passing a string and calling a Private method located in the Popup control behind code to fetch updated data.
I was hoping to place code to make this happen in the Opened event of the Popup, but such an event does not seem to exist (even though I found some documentation on it).

I have a usercontrol that has a popup that displays another usercontrol when the user selects an item from a listbox. When the parent initializes, all the usercontrols initialize.

I have combo boxes for user choices on the form. One combo box for name, one for phone number and one for email. I first created that to allow user to make select in each combo box. As more "user friendly" interface, I I would like to associate the selection made on cmbBxReqstrName with corresponding phone number and email and cause the phone number and email combo box to "auto fill" in their respective combo boxes based on the selection in the cmbBxReqstrName. It was suggested to me that a two dimesional array might be an option. I read up on arrays but don't quite comprehend the coding part to access the data in the array and fill that to the combo box or I guess use the index from array to index the combo box list.

I am trying to follow the book 'Sams teach yourself VB 2008'. It was going well until the end of hour 4. For exercise 1 I have created the form with a button and two text boxes, but cannot work out the code I need to move text between the two boxes. The Object Browser does not seem to help - am I reading it wrong?

I'm currently in the process of building a text editor type program, and have run into a brick wall. I haven't done VB in years, so I may just need a little reminder on some things. I have coded everything so far as far as opening files, saving them, changing fonts, colors, etc. However, I'm looking to add a Close button to my menu strip that will just close the currently opened file, and not the entire program, while also ask the user if he/she would like to save before closing the file, and then if they select yes, it will show the save dialog, and if not, it will go ahead and close the currently opened item.
