Create Own Track / Volume Sliders / Even A Custom 'screen' To Play Visualisations / Movies?

Feb 1, 2009

I've recently been working on a simple media player (following some guide and using my small brain ). I have created a simple playlist, with load/ save ability, add remove track and play and all the normal bull . However I was wondering if I could get some help making it more advanced: How do I create my own track / volume sliders - and even a custom 'screen' to play visualisations / movies? how do I create skip buttons (the ones on the media player controller don't work :@)? I know how to make a button skip a track (I think), but how to I make it skip to the next track in my playlist box? [code] I have created a context menu for my playlist, with buttons such as play, add and remove, but I want it so that when I right click on song the code activates on the song I right clicked on. At the minute whatever song I right click on it still runs the code on the song that selected not the one I right clicked on.Also my playlist, displays the whole file location of the tracks, how to I make it display only the tracks name. Also I have an open dialog control, I know how to set a filter, but how do i set it to filter more than one extension.please note that most of this code is from various guises, and I have simply edited it and merged different codes to suit my needs. Scroll Bar - Use To Control The Volume ?

Mar 28, 2010

I'm making a media player that is using the Windows Media Player component and I have the visible property set to false. I'm going to make all of the controls but one I'm having trouble with is the scroll bar. with the scroll bar if you move up the track bar up a little it should increase the volume like the one on the component. The code that I though was AxWindowsMediaPlayer1.CtlControls. but there was nothing there that could be used to control the volume.

Audio Volume Controls Windows Vista/7 VB 2008

Sep 3, 2009

So I'm a bit new to the whole Vista/7 audio setup. My understanding is that a new "mixer" is created for each application. Is there some new .Net function which interfaces with these mixers? I'm actually trying to create an application which can adjust the MAIN system volume level as well as the mute function.

I was looking at the Endpointvolume API however I cant get it to work for me :(. Does anyone have a vb.net demo of how to harness this API?

VS 2008 - Reading And Setting System Sound Volume

Media.SystemSounds.Exclamation.Play()
Over time I like to ramp up the volume to 80% or until one clicks the Alarm off button (then stop the timer, no sound, and reset volume).

VS 2008 Get Current Master Volume (Audio) - Win7

Jun 1, 2011

It seems like this would be a very easy thing to accomplish, but, from what I can tell, it's most definitely not. My OS is Windows 7. All I need to do is get the current volume/audio level - the master volume. When you click the little speaker icon in the task bar and change the volume - I need that number. All I need to do is get the current volume and assign it to a label. So if the volume is at 74 when the application starts, I need my label to display 74. I've been searching for days now for a way to do this and I'm starting to get frustrated. I've looked everywhere. I've tried 3 different classes, at least a dozen different codes, assorted imported dll's- none of it even came close to what I need. From what I can tell, the current methods are all designed for windows xp. I need a way to do it in windows 7.

VS 2008 Getting The Volume And Pitch Of The Sound Currently Entering The Microphone

Sep 12, 2009

get data like the pitch and volume of the sound currently being "heard" through a microphone?

Do you know the little graph which the Windows 98/XP sound recorder used to show? It used to show the pitch and volume of the sound which was being recorded. Like I want to get the data from that.

Basically, I will start experimenting this stuff by showing the volume of the sound entering the microphone in a label. And maybe the pitch too.
