I need to control the main computer volume in vb.net. I have searched the web and tried all the examples I could find. None of the have worked.Does anyone have some snippets of code that work with vb.net 2010 to control volume?
I'd like to make a program that allows me to see what the current volume of my computer is. It would be nice if I could also hire and lower the volume with my program.
How can I control the volume of only the sound coming from my program rather than the system sound with a track bar? If this isn't possible, how can I control the system volume with the track bar?Bgeo99
I'm making a media player that is using the Windows Media Player component and I have the visible property set to false. I'm going to make all of the controls but one I'm having trouble with is the scroll bar. with the scroll bar if you move up the track bar up a little it should increase the volume like the one on the component. The code that I though was AxWindowsMediaPlayer1.CtlControls. but there was nothing there that could be used to control the volume.
Here is simple and effective code using API acting like Windows volume control, you can use to increase, decrease or mute overall computer volume

here is the problem : in vb i added the volume meter dll and did :project reference to add : progressbargradient.dll, Microsoft.DirectX.dll, and Microsoft.DirectX.DirectSound.dll
and connected webcam with microphone but i get the error "Microsoft.DirectX.dll' is attempting managed execution inside OS Loader lock. Do not attempt to run managed code inside a DllMain or image initialization function since doing so can cause the application to hang."
There are lot's of examples for volume control in VB6, however, I can't get them to work inside VB.NET!! how to get and set volume control (WaveOutGetVolume, WareOutSetVolume) in vb.net.

I've got a Panel on a main Form containing a PictureBox control on Top of a TableLayout control. Both the child controls have their docking properties set to Top. The Picture control has sizemode set to Zoom.
What I'm finding is that the picture doesn't size properly when I start the app. There is a border at the top and bottom in the PictureBox control. It's only when I resize the overall form that it's correct.
So at the moment I've got this ugly bit of startup code, just to fix the problem Me.WindowState = FormWindowState.Normal Me.WindowState = FormWindowState.Maximized
I have searched the web for code relating to changing the system volume, muting the system volume, and outputing the current level of the volume as an integer, using VB.NET.
All the code that I have found either doesn't work, or is very long.
I am in the process of designing a computer control program to control a HF communications receiver (radio), and have found a problem with the Serial port. I am using VB Express Edition 2008. This module of the program is supposed to take an input string from another part of the program, format it, break it into 4 bytes, and send it to the radio in hex form via COM port 1. The problem comes in when you try to enter a frequency with an 8 or a 9 in it. The 8 or 9 is usually replaced by 45, ex.-input 9900, receiver tune 4545. The exact same thing happens with 8's, input 8800 and receiver tune 4545. All other numbers other than 8 or 9 work fine. The strange part of it is that sometimes the 8's and 9's work, and work correctly. For instance, 900, 1900, 2900, 3900, 4900, 5900, 6900, and 7900 all work correctly. This led me to believe that is may only be when the 8 or 9 is in the first position, but that is not the case, it also shows up in other positions as well. All other frequencies that do not have 8 or 9 in them also work. I ran into this same problem with VB Express 2005, and worked on it for weeks before giving up and going back to VB6.0. This same module (with exception of the port open command) runs flawlessly under VB6. I have even tried importing the MSCOMM control from VB6, but it gives the same results. In de-bugging mode, all of the inputs, decimal and hex seem to be correct, so the problem must come in after you click the command button, but before it leaves the COM port.
I can find "Horizontal Scroll Bar" control in ToolBox, but I can't find the "Scroll Bar" like used in Sound Volume Control. Where should I get this kind of scroll bar?
Any way I can set parent of the MainMenu control? I don't want to use other controls because there is no windows 7 or vista style as in picture. Other controls have just ugly blue and white color. When I add MainMenu it sets position on top of the form. I want to set MainMenu Parent to one Panel. Other controls have just ugly blue and white color.
I am looking for a way to be able to use the tab control on my main form and transfer all 3 other forms onto that main form that has the tab control. Problem being is that some functions are named the same in each of the septate forms i want to bring into just one for the tab control. Is there a way to separate the code for each form ON the main form of the tab control so i don't have to rename/recode each of the 3 forms i want to place on the main form of the tab control? [code]so when i put both form1 and form2 code on the main form where the tab control is, its going to tell me that i have a duplicate function name.
I have controls like buttons, textboxes and all on all the forms in my project, by applying Application.EnableVisualStyles() before Main() Thread starts the controls will have look of XpStyles.
Suppose if i need the Font Size for all the Buttons in my project i need to write the Font Style Property on each form... but this process is very long as my project is big
is there any logic that without writing code on all the forms to update the button Font Size..
I have a main form and a user control form. The user control form is on the main form. How can I send data from user control label1 to main form label 1?
What I'd like to do is in my application move a control like a groupbox or frame with content on it from e.g the main form to a tabpage on that same main form using code.
I can change the position of the control using it's location, but I haven't got a clue on how to move it from the main form to a tabpage, or from 1 tabpage to another.
-Is this at all possible and if so, how can it be achieved?
