Sep 15, 2009I've been digging around but I can't seem to find anyway to adjust the volume controls (the windows general ones) using VB .NET.Basically, I want to make a program that's always on top that allows me to changemute the microphone and the other volume values on a specific device - not necessarily the one set as default.
I got this weird feeling that I'm missing something quite simple but I simply could not find anything. I saw some media players and such but nothing similar to what I was looking for.

Apr 7, 2010I'm trying to make a utility that will fade out the system volume (for when I fall asleep listening to my music). In XP and prior, controlling the system audio was very simple, however, in Vista and 7, I can't figure out how to do it. Because in Windows 7 each application has it's own volume control, lowering the volume doesn't affect the system overall - only the current app. Can anyone point me to a resource how to do this? Every forum posting that I've found on this topic is about XP, and doesn't work under newer versions of Windows.

I can find C++ coding which, sadly means nothing to me. There's also quite a lot out there for VB4, 5 and 6 but I can't get any of that to relate to .net. Most of those seem to want to invoke the 'Slider' via the mouse which is not what I'm after.
I would like to be able to: -
Record the current Audio Volume setting,
Change it (up or down),
Play a *.wav file, then
Return it to it's original level.
I've had some success with 'AxWindowsMediaPlayer' but only with it's own increase / decrease functions. I can only get it to increase the volume as far as the main system volume is set, so if that's at zero I get no output at all. As for part one of my requirement, record the current level, I've got nowhere with that at all. I tried putting the one file I want to use in resources but can't find how to access it, I have had to put the file in a folder and call it from there, it works but it seems a little crude.

The javascript wizards display the code required to put in their own sites. But trying to locate source codes to these things is very aggravating on the web.So what I want to do is create my own "form wizard" like out of javascript, that allows the user to put in some information then get the displayed code to put in their own websites. I'm not looking for the generator such as the online form generators.But the javascript source code(s) for the generator itself.Then I could simply put a form generator inside of my VB-app, that will allow the user to use the wizard, then get the html code to paste in their own sites. Preferably not the PHP one because the php backend is very difficult to put in a VB app.I know that it can be done. For example copying a web pages source code then putting it inside a string, then calling that string from a button click that will open the javascript page in the webbrowser inside the VB app.

It will then count the number of guesses and the time taken. I have searched up how to do this and I can't seem to find out how. I think I just put my wording wrong when looking it up. May 24, 2011in my company intranet, there is a webpage with a js slider. While moving the slider, some textboxes are updated dinamically.
I am trying to change the slider value and submit the form programmatically, but the value sent to the sevrer is always the original "step 1".
If I change the value using the usual
document.getElementById("slider").setAttribute("value","2")
the value changes correctly but the textboxes don't change their values and the info sent to the server isn't the value just changed because is made in js to get the current displayed value.

Binding to the PlaybackVolume property will cause the setter to fire while still dragging the thumb. Because of the network latency issue, the slider is locked for however many miliseconds it takes for the request to complete.

Oct 6, 2008At work we have this really old excel spreadsheet with movable points in it.This feature no longer works in '07 so I have decided to try and make a VB form to replicate it's functionality.I have the concept down of what I'm gonna do, I'm using sliders for the movable points and I'm using a data grid view for all of the numbers they are just going to type in, and then I have a button that saves all of the data to the database that it links with.I've figured out how to get everything working except the button that saves the data. So there are 4 separate databases attached to sliders and another one that is part of the data grid view. What am I going to have to put into that button under the click event in order to make it save the values in all of these databases?

Apr 25, 2010I am trying to make a form expand from one size to another using a slider animation.
The problem is when I run it the form resizes but without the animation. I'm not sure how to use the animation when resizing the form. It works if the form is a set size and then I run the animation.
The form is borderless and starts out with a width of 11 and I want the final width to be 285.
The resize and animation are triggered by clicking on the form.
