Forms :: Expand From One Size To Another Using A Slider Animation
Apr 25, 2010
I am trying to make a form expand from one size to another using a slider animation.
The problem is when I run it the form resizes but without the animation. I'm not sure how to use the animation when resizing the form. It works if the form is a set size and then I run the animation.
The form is borderless and starts out with a width of 11 and I want the final width to be 285.
The resize and animation are triggered by clicking on the form.
Here is the code.
Private Sub Form3_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Click
Me.Width = mintformmaxwidth
I have a routine which allows me to expand the size of my DataGridView within a TableLayoutPanel. Effectively it repositions the DGV to the first row and first column of the TableLayoutPanel that it is in using the SetRow and SetColumn methods of the TableLAyoutPanel. Then it sets the column and row span by passing the row and column count properties of the TableLayoutPanel to the SetColumnSpan and SetRowSpan methods. It work fine. There are two buttons on the form, One expands the DGV the other returns it to its original state.
My question is, how would I set this up if I wanted to do this for all the controls in this TableLayoutPanel and/or every control on every other TableLAyoutPanel on my form. I am assuming I have to use a class as I would have to create an abundance of public variables to pass the row/colum and row/column span starting positions to.[code]....
I'm using VB.net 2005 to code an application that will be a used as a "digital sign" to report factory production levels and will be displayed on a 55 inch wide screen LCD TV/display. So I am putting my controls in a TableLayoutPanel control so they will expand to use the whole TV screen and can be view from a distance. (I have my FormBorderStyle = None and WindowState = Maximized.) My Form is set to AutoSize = True and AutoSizeMode = GrowOnly. My TableLayoutPanel AutoSize = True, AutoSizeMode = GrowOnly, and Dock = Fill. I'm using Label controls to display the text on the display and they are set to AutoSize = False and Dock = Fill. When I run the app. the Gauge control expands on my 19" monitor like it should, but none of the Label Text expand. How do I get the Labels to enlarge / Fill there area? Is that not possible?
I have a picturebox that I am importing an image to. I need it to expand but not expand past my buttons at the bottom of the screen. When I import the image it takes up the whole screen and covers up my buttons.
i have a panel which in runtime would slide to show it.. but the animation seems not visible...
Dim intanimate As Integer Private Sub btn_delete_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btn_delete.Click Me.Label7.Text = "Delete Criminal Record"
If I have form say sized 1300 x 800, I would like to proportionally size the form to the computers screen size. I can get it to size to the screen size, but it is not proportional
I am after a property that makes a control (textbox, datagrid or other) move according to the forms size. Because some of the controls I got does that, and I really don't want it. I've been looking at them but could not find it
I originally developed my VB 2010 project on an older PC in a resolution I cannot recall.I set my forms to be 1024 x 768 in pixels. When I purchased a new PC, a high-end gaming desktop, I copied the project to the new PC running at 1920 x 1080 resolution and continued programming and everything was fine.More recently, I bought a high-end gaming laptop and copied the project to that PC, a laptop, with the same 1920 x 1080 resolution and my forms changed size inside the IDE.All the 1024 x 768 forms are now 1362 x 943 (not just on the screen; the dimensions properties of all of the forms have changed), representing increases of 33%/23% respectively of the two dimensions.
I am upgrading from VB6 and started working with VB.Net (VS2005). One problem I have was controls avilable in VB.Net. I can use a slider bar in VB6, but couldn't find any quivalent in VB.net(.Net Framework Components)!! I don't know why I can choose one in COM components, but these requires project generated DLL's to run. I want to distribute just the executable. My questions are:
-Is there any slider bar in VB.Net Framework Components?
-If there is none, Can I use COM component and bundle everything into one Executable? Also is it possible a list of controls in .Net as I find in vb6: url....
I have a label in my Form which on loading, displays the contents of a text file. The contents of the text file may change and if so, the number of lines also will. I would like the Form to automatically resize itself based on the number of lines in the file. If there are more lines that the size of the label can take, I would like it to either resize or show scroll bars.
I would like to create a vertical slider similar to ones you would find designed in AJAX but I need to do it in a VB.NET Windows Form. I'm hoping that someone has seen this done.
the value changes correctly but the textboxes don't change their values and the info sent to the server isn't the value just changed because is made in js to get the current displayed value.
a way to update the value needed to the server, and make all textboxes update dinamycally?
My program has two lists, one a listbox and the other a listview viewed in details mode.
Both of them change heights (get taller) for no obvious reason. I am having to add a call to a method that resizes them to the end of every method, which is kind of absurd, I think. Also, when the window size is changed, these components change size, which means I have to keep track of that.
Edit: I had also thought of adding a timer to handle this.
I am using a textbox which handle the name of the employee and when it get focus i am using a listview with detail view which shows all available employees and user have to select any of them. I am using all this control in a panel, unfortunately listview need more size then panel, and i cannot increase the size of panel. But placing listview inside the panel make its child control and hide the half list view. Is there any way that i can show full list view control under the textbox?
I have a question how can I save in My.Settings only the font name and not the size.I have a form where I can change the font for a label on another form. This works perfect.I can even save it in my.settings.
The thing is though, that on that other form I have 2 labels, thet should have the same font name, but the size should be different. (label1 has font size = 40 (can be changed) and label2 should have a fixed font size (should not be changed)).I tried to use label2.font.size = "14", but font.size is readonly.
I'm currently in the process of making a dynamic signature generator, and I want to make the user be able to see what he would get... So I thought of putting a browse button and allowing them to load up a background image for their signature, but I also want the picturebox to resize according to that image's size. I need them to be the same size because of the image's X, Y are needed for the signature.
It works fine, but it only gets the coordinates for the picturebox, not the actuall image, so I think if the picturebox is the same size as the picturebox it would get them just fine..
I'm binding the value of a Slider to an integer property that represents the volume on a networked device. This network request takes a little time (usually <100 ms), and somehow causes the Slider to feel choppy. Here's my oversimplified code to clarify:
Private _playbackVolume As Integer Private _deviceForDemonstrationPurposes As New Device Public Property PlaybackVolume As Integer
[code]....
Binding to the PlaybackVolume property will cause the setter to fire while still dragging the thumb. Because of the network latency issue, the slider is locked for however many miliseconds it takes for the request to complete.
At work we have this really old excel spreadsheet with movable points in it.This feature no longer works in '07 so I have decided to try and make a VB form to replicate it's functionality.I have the concept down of what I'm gonna do, I'm using sliders for the movable points and I'm using a data grid view for all of the numbers they are just going to type in, and then I have a button that saves all of the data to the database that it links with.I've figured out how to get everything working except the button that saves the data. So there are 4 separate databases attached to sliders and another one that is part of the data grid view. What am I going to have to put into that button under the click event in order to make it save the values in all of these databases?
Iam creating a simple program for a friend that plays different internet radios.. And he wants a volume slider.. So i've used the TrackBar control i VB.net and it works as it should.. I can control the volume with it.. However he wants this application to be touch friendly and as far as i can see its not possible to change the size of the actual slider in any way..
Anybody know a way to detect and set the form size in the child and MDIParent forms?
I'm having all kinds of problems from scroll bars popping up, to can't get the form to fill the parent. Pretty sure I have tried every possible combination in the forms properties 10 times.
I'm really getting tired of beating myself against this. Anybody seen a good tutorial on the finer points of MDIparent / MDI Child page size, etc.
I thought this would be easy but for some reason it's giving me a rough time. I have a windows form with three equal size panels on it. Each panel takes up about 1/3 of the window width, less some inter-panel spacing.
The effect I want is if the user stretches or shrinks the form the panels maintain their relative 1/3 width and spacing, similar to how divs on an html page would size as the browser window is sized.
So I anchored the left panel to left, top and bottom, the center panel to top and bottom, and the right panel to top, bottom and right. This works fine in keeping the left and right panel anchored to their respective sides, and all panels now stretch with a form height change.
So in form resize I adjust the width of each panel to form.width/3. As expected this is close but does not account for the inter-panel margins I want to preserve and the form border width.
I played around with various constants and noting I do gives me the desired effect.I'm sure there is a pretty straight forward solution to this but I can't seem to find it.
Im trying to set a forms size to fill my desktop screen is any function that does this or do you have to set the form size manually depending on the screen size each time ?
i doing asp.net and using vb.net.I have a datalist control which inside it show a product img, description, price the problem is that i was to show the product another img, so i want to have a small picture below the img, so when click on the picture the img change to another.
i want something similar to this link : [URL]..this link they use flash to come out with the effect that i want, but they are not in datalist, so think that i may need to use ajax but which one?anyone have any sample or example ? if i was to use the jquery easy slider numeric navigation how am i going to implement onto the datalist?
