Expand Control Size In A TableLayoutPanel?

May 15, 2009

I have a routine which allows me to expand the size of my DataGridView within a TableLayoutPanel. Effectively it repositions the DGV to the first row and first column of the TableLayoutPanel that it is in using the SetRow and SetColumn methods of the TableLAyoutPanel. Then it sets the column and row span by passing the row and column count properties of the TableLayoutPanel to the SetColumnSpan and SetRowSpan methods. It work fine. There are two buttons on the form, One expands the DGV the other returns it to its original state.

My question is, how would I set this up if I wanted to do this for all the controls in this TableLayoutPanel and/or every control on every other TableLAyoutPanel on my form. I am assuming I have to use a class as I would have to create an abundance of public variables to pass the row/colum and row/column span starting positions to.[code]....

Use TableLayoutPanel Control To Expand Label Text For LCD TV Screen Size?

Jan 25, 2011

I'm using VB.net 2005 to code an application that will be a used as a "digital sign" to report factory production levels and will be displayed on a 55 inch wide screen LCD TV/display. So I am putting my controls in a TableLayoutPanel control so they will expand to use the whole TV screen and can be view from a distance. (I have my FormBorderStyle = None and WindowState = Maximized.) My Form is set to AutoSize = True and AutoSizeMode = GrowOnly. My TableLayoutPanel AutoSize = True, AutoSizeMode = GrowOnly, and Dock = Fill. I'm using Label controls to display the text on the display and they are set to AutoSize = False and Dock = Fill. When I run the app. the Gauge control expands on my 19" monitor like it should, but none of the Label Text expand. How do I get the Labels to enlarge / Fill there area? Is that not possible?

Forms :: Expand From One Size To Another Using A Slider Animation

Apr 25, 2010

I am trying to make a form expand from one size to another using a slider animation.

The problem is when I run it the form resizes but without the animation. I'm not sure how to use the animation when resizing the form. It works if the form is a set size and then I run the animation.

The form is borderless and starts out with a width of 11 and I want the final width to be 285.

The resize and animation are triggered by clicking on the form.

Here is the code.

Private Sub Form3_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Click
Me.Width = mintformmaxwidth

I'm adding controls to a TableLayoutPanel in the form myTableLayoutPanel.Controls.Add(someControl, 5, 5), inserting the control in column 5, row 5. After that line of code has executed, I expect that the ColumnStyles and RowStyles properties of myTableLayoutPanel will contain ColumStyles for columns 0 through 5, and RowStyles for rows 0 through 5. This is not the case. where and when RowStyles and ColumnStyles are added to these properties and the best way to deal with adding styles when inserting new Controls?

VB 2008 Express/ Webpage To Fit The Size Of The Webbrowser1 Control Size?

Jul 13, 2010

I have wondered the solution to this question for many years! I doubt if anyone else knows much about it because the internet is absolutely zero help in this!

I have made a form1 with a webbrowser control on it. When the program is run it brings up the homepage (which is Google). However the homepage doesn't seem to fit inside the webbrowser control.

So I am hoping that someone could tell me how to make the (...I dunno how to ask this retarded question...) webpage fit completely (100%) inside the size of the webbrowser control. Meaning...I would like to see the entire webpage from the internet in the
size of the webbrowser control. To fill the entire size (whatever size I want).

Etc... if my webbrowser ontrol is seh, set to 600px by 400px, how can I program this so when it brings up the homepage (or any other page), it fills the entire size of the webbrowser control? Without any scrollbars. How to make the contents from the web
(or local) fill the size of the webbrowser - almost like a mini browser if you will.

Convert Font Size To Control Size?

Aug 10, 2010

I'm writing a couple of custom controls in VB.Net 3.5, in VS2008, and would like to resize the font size based on the height of the control, and vice-versa. Is there any way of converting a font of say 38.25pts into a me.height, or the other way round?

I realise the font width will change dependent on the font used (which isn't an issue for my purposes), but as far as I know, the font height is usually consistent Accessibility/Large font settings won't be an issue with this application.

Getting The Fixed Size Control?

Mar 18, 2010

I have subclassed a control that would be vastly better if it was a certain size. At first, I thought I could simply set the height and width in the constructor. That would annoy people, as the control would be placed on the form at some size, and the size would then shift when the program starts, but it doesn't work anyways because the control constructor is called before the size properties are applied to it. Is there a way to fix the size of a control at design time? The only controls that I can think of that don't have the ability to be sized are pretty highly specialized.

Set The Tab Size In A TextBox Control?

Screen Designer - Changing Size Of Control?

I have my own set of properties which gets populated from database. Screen designer is working fine but the problem occurs when user changes some properties from property window. Say user changes property 'Width' then I change the width of the selected control in designer but the problem is SelectionOverlay shows the old size. When I select another control and select old control again, SelectionOverlay(resize handlers which appears around the control) shows properly. How can I tell the SelectionOverlay that the size of the control is changed.

I saw there is an ItemSize property of the Tab Controls , but unfortunately I can only modify the height of the tabs .
