VS 2008 Set The Default Size Of The Control When It Is Created?
Jul 29, 2009I recently made my own custom control, but is there any way to set the default size of the control when it is created?I did a bit of searching and found that I could change the size of the control at runtime with:

But the size doesn't update in the design view until I run the program;?

Custom Control Losing Size Around Edge When Added To Form
Dec 7, 2011Having some issues with creating a simple control in vb.net.
I create a control with a single label in, I don't change anything except the colour of the control and the label and also making the label anchor to the edges ( with a small border around the edge)
When i then build it and add this control to a form. Some of the edges are cut off and it isn't anchored the way it was in the control.[url]...
as you can see in the second image the control has lost its white border at the right and bottom.
VB 2008 Express/ Webpage To Fit The Size Of The Webbrowser1 Control Size?
Jul 13, 2010I have wondered the solution to this question for many years! I doubt if anyone else knows much about it because the internet is absolutely zero help in this!
I have made a form1 with a webbrowser control on it. When the program is run it brings up the homepage (which is Google). However the homepage doesn't seem to fit inside the webbrowser control.
So I am hoping that someone could tell me how to make the (...I dunno how to ask this retarded question...) webpage fit completely (100%) inside the size of the webbrowser control. Meaning...I would like to see the entire webpage from the internet in the
size of the webbrowser control. To fill the entire size (whatever size I want).
Etc... if my webbrowser ontrol is seh, set to 600px by 400px, how can I program this so when it brings up the homepage (or any other page), it fills the entire size of the webbrowser control? Without any scrollbars. How to make the contents from the web
(or local) fill the size of the webbrowser - almost like a mini browser if you will.
VS 2008 IDE Default Window Size?
Mar 17, 2010I'm a new user of Visual Studio 2008. While I am a fan of Tabbed Browsing, I am in no way a fan of Tabbed Programming, so I have my "Window Layout" set to "Multiple Documents".However, I have been horrified to find that the default window size for any form or module opened is about 9/10ths of the work space. When I resize the window and close it, it opens back up again to 9/10ths of the work space. This is going to very seriously impact my work flow.There has to be some kind of mistake. I've looked for a way to set the default window size, but to no avail. I've searched the web for 3rd party plugins that would let me have more control over the IDE, but also to no avail.Is there some way to set the default window size in Visual Studio 2008? It would seem remarkably amateurish to not provide this extremely basic functionality.

Aug 10, 2010I'm writing a couple of custom controls in VB.Net 3.5, in VS2008, and would like to resize the font size based on the height of the control, and vice-versa. Is there any way of converting a font of say 38.25pts into a me.height, or the other way round?
I realise the font width will change dependent on the font used (which isn't an issue for my purposes), but as far as I know, the font height is usually consistent Accessibility/Large font settings won't be an issue with this application.
Change Printer Default Paper Size?
Aug 10, 2011What i want to do is simple but at the same time complicated. I have multiple .PDF file and i want to print them all. Thing is, all the .PDF are in 8,5 X 11 paper size. The printer is also on this paper size by default and i want to print them in a different size. I want to change the default printer size programatically so it prints in the right format. I need to change this in the program because i need to print in a few different paper size.

Changing Text Of Custom Control Based On Text Of Another Custom Control
Jan 11, 2010I am using custom textboxes and I need to be able to set the Text on txb1 based on the Text of txb2. I have simplied my code to the following:

So, when txb1 looses focus, if its Text is "fried", then it sets off txb2's ProcessAlert function. I had tried to change the value of txb2 Text in ProcessAlert function, but didnt work, so I tried to get it to raise an event instead, which then tries to set the Text property. However I still cant set txb2's Text property. The Text property seems to be set for the duration of the "life" of the Event handler. When I step through the forms controls within the Event handler, the changed Text value is there, but not outside of the Event handler.
Designer Changing Location And Size Of Custom Controls
Oct 8, 2011I have come across a problem with visual studio 2010 & vb.net. i have a few custom controls on the form and few standard controls. When i build the application, the custom controls automatically change size and location. Anchoring and Dock properties are fine. Anchored to Top Left without dockstyle. Even if i fix the location and size in design mode, after i run the application the controls again change back to weird position.
