I have a picturebox that I am importing an image to. I need it to expand but not expand past my buttons at the bottom of the screen. When I import the image it takes up the whole screen and covers up my buttons.
View 9 RepliesI'm using VB.net 2005 to code an application that will be a used as a "digital sign" to report factory production levels and will be displayed on a 55 inch wide screen LCD TV/display. So I am putting my controls in a TableLayoutPanel control so they will expand to use the whole TV screen and can be view from a distance. (I have my FormBorderStyle = None and WindowState = Maximized.) My Form is set to AutoSize = True and AutoSizeMode = GrowOnly. My TableLayoutPanel AutoSize = True, AutoSizeMode = GrowOnly, and Dock = Fill. I'm using Label controls to display the text on the display and they are set to AutoSize = False and Dock = Fill. When I run the app. the Gauge control expands on my 19" monitor like it should, but none of the Label Text expand. How do I get the Labels to enlarge / Fill there area? Is that not possible?
View 1 RepliesI am currently working on a program in VB that is 480,600 and am using a panel with a picturebox inside of it so that I can use scroll bars to view a chart in the picturebox since my form will be so small. Since viewing a large chart is pretty irritating using scroll bars to some, what properties can I enable or disable to get the panel and picturbox to expand also when the Form Maximize button is clicked rather than staying the same size up in the top corner?

View 14 RepliesI have a VB.NET (VS08) app that I want to add context sensitive I have added the Helpprovider control and set the helpNamespace to the help file (chm) file.I then went to a control on the page and have been playing with the HelpNavigator properties to have the file open the the correct topic in the TOC, but have not been successful. I can get the file to open to the TOC but not expand and navigate to the topic.
I have tried setting the HelpKeyword to ( my topicid is pending_email_manager):

* html/pending_email_manager.htm
pending_email_manager
And, setting the HelpNavigator to TableOfContents, Topic and TopicID.

I need to create a solution in which I populate some rows with data from a database.In those rows I put usernames and total values (total resulted from products selled in one month by every user)The idea is that I need to make somehow that when I click on one user (event CellContentClick on DGV) to expand the user in the way that I can see all products selled by that user in the selected month.I readed on the internet that I have to use datagridview inside the datagridview.I was thinking maybe I can have some expandable rows inside the datagridview (like in Excel) and when I click on + sign to expand the rows and to populate with selled products.

I have a routine which allows me to expand the size of my DataGridView within a TableLayoutPanel. Effectively it repositions the DGV to the first row and first column of the TableLayoutPanel that it is in using the SetRow and SetColumn methods of the TableLAyoutPanel. Then it sets the column and row span by passing the row and column count properties of the TableLayoutPanel to the SetColumnSpan and SetRowSpan methods. It work fine. There are two buttons on the form, One expands the DGV the other returns it to its original state.
My question is, how would I set this up if I wanted to do this for all the controls in this TableLayoutPanel and/or every control on every other TableLAyoutPanel on my form. I am assuming I have to use a class as I would have to create an abundance of public variables to pass the row/colum and row/column span starting positions to.[code]....
In many apps I have needed to disable the maximize and resize features of the main window because the textboxes and buttons stay exactly the same without realigning or resizing automatically. How can I change it so that buttons maintain their proportions and that textboxes will stretch when the window is resized?

I'd like to show the whole line by using tooltip or right-click context menu.What do you think? What's the best approach for this scenario? Anyway, I can't find how to 'catch' the row that I'm currently holding on or passing over by mouse.

Is there a way that the combo box could be expanded to fit the widest data/text when the Combo is selected?It would be quite neat if it pop out of the form when selected! I guess I could create this effect by creating another form that opens when when that object is selected.

Also, i would like to have the backcolor of the listbox to change from white into red for a brief second and then change to beige and stay beige until mouseleave, you know, make it look a little flashy and stuff.

I am trying to make a form expand from one size to another using a slider animation.
The problem is when I run it the form resizes but without the animation. I'm not sure how to use the animation when resizing the form. It works if the form is a set size and then I run the animation.
The form is borderless and starts out with a width of 11 and I want the final width to be 285.
The resize and animation are triggered by clicking on the form.

When i run my program and then click on the 2nd btn on the top-right corner to expand to fit my screen, i find that my control are not auto align to the expand. It also has the same problem when i run my program on other monitor of different size. Is there a way to make the controls auto align?
View 16 RepliesI have a button that when the user clicks slides a GroupBox out. I intend to start with the groupbox hidden and with a width of one and when the button is clicked to make the GroupBox visible and increase the width with a for.. to.. next counter.
However when I run the code all that happens when the button is clicked is after a short time the groupbox appears full size. So the program doesn't "refresh" the view of the GroupBox while the for..next statement is looping.
How can I make the GroupBox expand smoothly and visibly?

Left - A autosizing panel with a dock fill richtextbox
Right - A constant size panel with buttons and features for editing the text
Effect desired: When scaling the size of the form you cannot scale smaller than the initial size of the form, but when expanding the panel on the right is anchored to top right while the richtextbox in the left panel will scale infinitely in either height or width dimensions.
I am sure this is likely some simple property of the textbox or the panel, but cannot seem to locate it. I have the panel on the right anchored at constant size, but cannot seem to get the panel left to autoscale on dimension change.
Ok, So i have googled my ass off looking, I've seen it somewhere were you can make a hyperlink with one line of text so when they click the button it opens that website in there browser and i cant seem to find it, Dose anybody know?.
Next thing, Dose anybody know how to make it so the richtextbox on my page expands when you make the window maximized, I did parent body thing but it covered all the other content on the page :/
