i'm making a "guitar pro" with vb. when i click a note on the piano, for example, the same note turns red on the guitar. so, i want to know how to reset the colors, because when i click on other note, the first one stays red...
My VB2010 programme changes the background colour of a button (butExtra.BackColor = Color.Red). But how do I restore the colour to the default "Control" colour?
I want to implement a button that will reset everything so the user can start again. I have done this but it still triggers off all my validation coding i have. Is there something against the button so it will bybass all validation.
Ok, so I am building my own program to control a video player I have through telnet, I have everything else working except one thing.I have a reset button to reset the player, when I press it, it sends the string "Reset" and the unit resets without a problem. But when I add a code to close the winsock connection upon reset, it doesn't send the string to the unit. I am sure what is happening is the winsock is getting closed at the exact same time it is trying to send the string and so it fails to send, how do I make it close winsock AFTER the string has been sent? [code]
I know this is a really noob question but in my program when my button is enabled true/false I change the colour so i was thinking if there is an easier way to do this? or is the following the best way?
I wrote a custom installer that installs my software as well as sql server express 2005 on a pc. Now the client needs it to install on 64 bit pc's as well. It worked well on 32-bit but I had hard coded the install path of sql server as:
[code]...
this works on a 32 bit pc. But on a 64 bit I want it to detect the Program Files(x86) folder. How can I do this reliably?
sometime in 2007, I created a program for a few people that play a game using AOL. I had 75 buttons set up, and when you click on it a certain amount of times, the colors change... click once changes red, click 2 times changes blue, etc. Well, a few of them had lost the program and I had lost my project files when my old HD crashed. and I cant remember what the coding was for changing the buttons colors... One of them had the First one I made, which I had made updates to that (it was a beta), but I dont have the correct files to open anything to see what the coding was that I used..
I have the setup.exe, filename.application, filename.version#.application, and a few other files, but none of them that I open shows any kind of coding at all. Is there any way I can open something to view that coding again? or could someone explain how you can change a buttons color when clicking on it?
What I need is:
click 1 - Red click 2 - Blue click 3 - gold/yellow

Im currently using VB 2008 EE, What I made the program in before was VB 2005 EE?
I'm working on a game in VB.NET and I had an idea that lets you change button colors before launching the game (made a game launcher) but I can't figure out how to do it. The original code I set:
I am just creating a simple card game which uses three labels, which using the random function, generates random numbers and and assigns them to clubs, hearts, spades or diamonds. I have a counter which counts how many times the use has clicked the generate button using the following coding: toclick += 1 txtTimesAttempted.Text = toclick.ToString How can I reset the counter? Because I need a reset button...
I used to do a lot of programming in GW-Basic and QuickBasic (ah, the good ol' days), but I'm a total newbie at VB2010. I'm trying my first programming sessions and using forums and ebooks to learn. There is one thing that puzzles me and I just can't figure it out.Private Sub btnOK_ Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnOK.Click..When I click btnOK, certain codes are activated and Sub 2 is being called.Sub 2 calls Sub 3 and Sub 3 calls Sub 4.When Sub 4 is done, I want it to call the first form again, with the mentioned 'OK' button and have it wait for the button to be clicked again. My problem is, when Sub 4 calls the starting form with the 'OK' button, the program seems to "remember" that btnOK has been clicked and proceeds to run the code that follows. It does not wait for the button to be clicked again. I can't find out how to tell the program that the button has not been clicked on. What should I do? Is there a way to "reset" this button, so it doesn't remember it has been clicked on before? Or is Call in this case the wrong method to go from Sub to Sub and to the Form again and should I find another way to go through the program?
To .NET after getting tired of using VB6 due to the lack of functionality. I'm trying to create a log on method for a system which will involve users selecting a colour from a paint panel and then placing/drawing the colour in 1 or more tiles of a grid, basically a 3x3 grid in which for example they selected the blue colour and drew in the top left tile and the bottom left tile. The logon is selecting the correct colour and placing the colour in the appropriate tile. What i want them to be able to do is place even a single pixel of colour so it has a high accuracy. So far i have a timer which loops from the width of the grid to the height of the grid.
Private Sub Timer1_Tick(sender As System.Object, e As System.EventArgs) Handles Timer1.Tick Dim BMP As New Drawing.Bitmap(1, 1) Dim GFX As System.Drawing.Graphics = System.Drawing.Graphics.FromImage(BMP) GFX.CopyFromScreen(New Drawing.Point(MousePosition.X, MousePosition.Y), _
[CODE]...
To start with i have just hard coded the colour i want it to detect. At present it produces an error. Parameter must be positive and < Width the error is on System.Drawing.Point(i,j). If i place the mouse over the colour then run the program it will say it has been found, but otherwise it wont find the colour. I believe i am not updating the location of the pixel or something to that effect.
I've got a combobox which loads the system colour list, the selected colour is stored in the registry (i've tried storing the index number value aswell as the colour name - how can i get the combobox to display the stored colour as the default colour when the form loads? It always defaults to the first item in the colour list I've tried
So I have got a program with a timer on, a few labels displaying coordinates, and two buttons. Here is my
[code]...
It displays the color of the pixel at the coordinate typed into the text boxes.I have a video of a tennis ball which is bouncing on the spot, and the background in brown, so when the tennis ball comes into view there is a significant color change and i want it to start and stop a timer each time the colour changes significantly. So my question is, how do i get it to check whether the colour chas changed significantly?
I am trying to write a program where I have to create a Reset Button. On the form are two buttons a textbox and a label.I have to put some information in the textbox and if the information is wrong I get an error message, I have finished that part of the program. My problem is creating the Reset button. When I get an error I need to press the reset button to clear the data in the textbox and replace it with the words Reset Button in the textbox. Also I have to create a label that doesn't appear unless I don't press the Reset button to start over. So if I have an error and try to type something else in the textbox without pressing the Reset button then the label appears and say YOU NEED TO PRESS THE RESET BUTTON. That is the only time that the label will appear is when I don't press the reset button.
I made a bowling program, it adds 5 scores from 1 player and then calculates the average. Problem is with my reset button, when i click reset it doesn't change "Enter Bowling score for game #1" to 1, how do I change it to 1?
<code> Public Class frmLab2 'This is a program calculates the average scores of 5 bowling games using array. Dim scoreCount As Integer = 1 Dim intcount, total As Double Dim i As Integer = 0 Dim arrscores(4) As Double [Code] .....
i know how to toggle a button background color when i click on another button? That means i have two buttons on a window form and when i click on button A, button B will toggle its own background color based on the click event in button A.
i am looking to change the windows colour and colour intensity. These settings are accessable through Control PanelAppearance and PersonalizationPersonalizationWindow Color and Appearance But is there a way that i can remotely change these two settings through functions in my windows form application? Also is there any way of removing the slight blur on the window bars/taskbar when using an aero theme?
I'd like to replace all the white pixels in a bitmap image with pixels of the colour "Color.FromKnownColor(KnownColor.MenuHighlight)". Is there some method in the Image, Bitmap or Graphics classes I can use, or will I simply have to inspect each pixel in the image with GetPixel, check whether it is a white pixel, and then set it with SetPixel? Here is the code I am using now:
Private Shared Sub highlight(ByVal b As Bitmap) Dim highlightColour As Color = Color.FromKnownColor(KnownColor.MenuHighlight) Dim whiteARGB As Long = Color.White.ToArgb
I am using the MaskedTextBox and I am wanting to check for the following:
1. If the length of the text = 14 characters, enable the reset and start button
2. If the length of the text < 14 characters, enable the reset button, disable the start button
3. If the length of the text = 0 characters, disable both buttons
I am able to get most of it to work but when the length = 0, the start button is disabling like it's supposed to but the reset button is staying enabled. Any ideas? I have been looking at this code for hours and can't figure out why this is.
Here is the code.
vb Private Sub mtbClientPhoneNumber_TextChanged(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles mtbClientPhoneNumber.TextChanged 'Make sure that there is a phone number entered into mtbClientPhoneNumber. ValidateUserInput
[CODE]...
To see the form in action, you can see it here. The reset button isnt disabling when length = 0
I am running a program that is connected through the internet and i gets disconnected at times.wanted to know how this would be to examine a color of a pixel , If the colour turns changes, my mouse will move to reconnect
