VS 2008 Check All Labels On Form To See If Label Name Has Certain String Within It?

I have a form that has a large number of labels. Is there a way I can move the focus from label to label. After I move the focus I'll check if the name of the label has a certain string in it. If it does then I'll leave the focus at that label. If it doesn't I'll move the focus to the next label and check if that label name has the string in it. I just need to know how to move the focus from label to label. I was trying SelectNextControl without success. Maybe I can tab programmatically to the next label but I don't know how to do that.
am a undergraduate student from malaysia have some problem in my project i want to add the marks of five subjects in one label named total marks, and that will display total marks when subjects are selected from database i.e.
Is there an effecient way to give one label the ForeColor, BackColor and Text of another one of 3 possible labels? I need to do this frequently for a dozen labels in a windows form.
All 3 labels are named the same. The one i am most interested in is a progress % counter (1%, 2%, 3%, etc..)How can i get the value (using a timer of course) from that label without knowing the caption of it at any given time?
I need to create a form with radio buttons, text boxes, labels, etc.. This information needs to be pulled from a database. For instance, I have a form that displays information that needs to be inputed to a database, based on what test is being done for a specific product. Each product requires different tests. So each product may or may not have the same information that needs to be inputed..
What I have done is made a database and filled a table with each product and what tests apply. I then call that database after the product has been selected for the tests. It will then fill an array for that products information for what texts boxes and labels need to be shown. I wanna take this further and have it create a form through code and align all the controls to specific spots so that it will look nice. For example I wouldn't wanna create a control and have it be cut out of the form, or have other controls overlapping others.
I am writing a program in which I need a particular set of buttons and labels to perform the same function... in a manner such that only the button next in order can be clicked (following which an input box pops up to offer options) I tried to define a new button and a new label object which is assigned the current label/ button.
B = Button1 L = Label1
but it doesn't work. I'm not sure if this assignment is allowing only the reference to be passed as I require (so that Button1 reflects changes when I write code for B, etc.) Also i learned that arrays of objects are no longer supported in Visual Studio 2010. Is there an alternative way to do it?.... If I could define an array of objects or something similar I think I'll be able to manage..
I'm seeing a strange problem with the labels on the X axis of my charts. I've setup two chart areas and aligned them (which displays fine) and the user can manipulate the chart by selecting different date resolutions (Year, Month, Day, Week, Hour) and different time periods.
The issue I'm seeing is that if a user selects say Months as the date resolution the X axis label display is inconsistent. If a fairly broad range for the dates is selected the X axis displays absolutely fine but as the date range narrows the X axis starts to duplicate labels ( please see the attached images). The second Image had a date range of 1st of May to 1st of August and as you can see the labels are duplicated. This is my first go with the chart control so I could be missing something basic. [Code]
I have 10 labels (Label1, Label2, Label3, Label4, etc...) in an Array and I need to change the Text property with a timer, I have the timer working well, but I don't know how to change one Label at the time( this second the label1, the next second label2, the next second label3...etc)... I'm using VB.NET with the .NET 4.0 Framework in Visual Studio.

so i have this code which is trying to allow the user click the label (of which there are 26) and then decide whether the letter in the label matches the letter that has been generated in the radio button. I KNOW there is a more simplified to do this and much less code to write but i cant work it out. this is an image of what im trying to achieve but instead of buttons change those to radio buttons x 3.
I want to check 4 labels for text, if all four dont have a value, change text in a label to "please enter all four values" if 4 labels have values, remove all text from label.
I am trying to create a macro to enter data in a label printing application for hundreds of labels- I use an external third party software that's not very user friendly. It has several fields that accept text. The problem is, manually entering the data and clicking "print" each time is very time consuming. I am developing a windows application, how can i store the view state of a page in vb.net. i have 12 labels on a page and when i click on each label the color of the label changes to black, what i want is when i come back to the same page, i want the labels to retain their colors....
I have a program which is made with 12 labels, the first set of six are randomly generated and the second set are values obtained from the first set and the user has to choose in ascending order the numbers on the first set.The values chosen will be trasferred to the second set and then with a "check" button that set of labels have to be rearranged and compared to the user input.If the user for example manage to choose the right order, he will obtained a 6 of 6 and he will recieve a message.My problem is on the rearrage and compare part.
The code I made is very simple but is not working, basically it only check if the next value is smaller that the previous and changed its back color according to the case.

I would like to have a correct rearrange of the numbers and introduce a message according to the accuracy of the user.
I want to check each of the strings in an array (currently in a hashtable, but that shouldn't necessarily matter right?) with the user's input, if the words in each of them match. This might have sounded a little tricky so let me elaborate.
Problem: Comparing an input string with a collection of strings, and know which string in the collection matches the input string the most - based on words. What I'm trying to do here is a chatbot that works with keywords. For example, in the bot script, you could find "HOW ARE YOU" and the response "I am fine." If the user then sends input to this bot, it could look like this: [Code] This may not sound like a tricky thing, but the tricky part comes when I want to know which of the strings (e.g. "HOW ARE YOU") match the input string the most, based on the words.
I want to check for the letters of the given string. for example: the string = Visual Studio next is i want to check per letter of the string. next I want to change V to x
Is there any function or collection in VB.NET that checks if a string is a word? Like a dictionary?I'm making a random word generator, and I can get it to generate random strings, but it's be better if they were actual English words..I know something like System.Collections.Generic.Dictionary would work, but wouldn't you first have to add all of the words into the Dictionary?I guess what I'm looking for is a Collections.Generic.Dictionary with English words preloaded into it?
I need to get some text that I generate to appear on a label on another form. I can get it to appear on the same form, but can't figure out how to transfer forms.
I'm trying to position a small form that will have its top left edge exactly lined up with the bottom left edge of a label. But I am finding this to be impossible to accomplish because of some magical hidden offset that exists somewhere ... I don't know where.
So here's what I got, if I can manage to pilfer out only the relative portions... For the sake of simplicity, I'll focus only on the horizontal positioning below:

I'm making a class to basically print the screen. I'm going through each field and doing a drawstring, but things aren't lining up correctly. I tracked the problem down and don't know why it's happening.Take this line of code as an example:
This should draw the same text that is in label1 directly below label1 on the form. However, the drawn text is a different length than the label's text. Courier draws shorter, Sans Serif draws longer. It's doing the same thing going to a print document; it isn't matching how the label is being rendered.
when i run following code it runs ok and problem is that during running code when i minimize the form and then restore again the form, it not display changing value into label1 and progressbar also the form looks like hang what is its solution?

What I'm trying to do is when I click button 1, timer start countdown from 15 sec. I want to be able to show this timer in sec and millisec in form in a text label so the user can see how much time they have left. (example: 12.56 sec remaining)
I have a P/L chart which has a left scale (Y axis) which starts from a negative value. I want to format the axis labels (the major tick mark labels) so that the negative ones are red. Something like;

Of course that doesn't work since MajorTickMark doesn't have a value property. How does one make this work?
i have a form that opens every time the application is launched to welcome the user. I have created a checkbox control with the label "Don't display this again".When the check box is checked, i dont want the form to be displayed when the application is launched again. When the checkbox is not checked, i want the form to be displayed as usual.
