I'm trying to display a list of "bank transactions" (these are fake, it's a game) so no need to worry about security but what tool should I use? I've use a Grid view for other parts of the game and don't want to "overuse" this tool.The list may have 2 rows it may have 30 rows although I might limit this? It will need to be able to use a date, a text reason and a value.

I need to write a program to display the seating chart in a list box, when the person clicks on the desired row in the list box, the row number and the status of the seats in the row are displayed in seven read-Only list boxes.Now, I know how to create a listbox and the make the text boxes, my problem is how to display what is in one row into 7 text boxes.Then the person click on any of the text boxes a second form with 4 radio buttons is poping up. Just like when you search in google or youtube, once you typed in the initial string on the textbox or combo box it will show a drop-down list. I tried to use it in my application using linq method but the problem is it would duplicate on the first string that you entered on the dropdown list if that record exist on your database after you press the space key. I used the code below which duplicates the records on the drop-down list when you type in your string after the space key.
I just want it to be like in any search engine that when you type in the string or your initial string, it will display on the drop-down list all the records from the database that contains the string you entered without duplication. In my case, I'm trying to query a name from my database. This is how it should work, For example, if you type an initial string in the textbox or combo box a named 'Mark', it should display all the names from the database containing 'Mark' into the drop-down list before it changes into its final string that you entered.

Write the program in VB.Net (not Web based) and have it accept user input of the amount, term and interest rate. Display the mortgage payment amount. Then, list the loan balance and interest paid for each payment over the term of the loan. The list will be longer than the screen, so use loops to display a partial list, hesitate, and then display more of the list. Insert comments to document the program.

I am trying to find some source code that is reputable such as code created by Microsoft or a similar entity that has released the source code for AES 128 encryption in the latest VB .net framework. My understanding of encryption methods is sufficient though, I am not an expert on the subject. The following source code [URL] on the MSDN network works very well in VB though with the advent of more secure AES encryption, I would like to be more prudent by using a more secure method. Unless someone can prove or explain that this source code is at a level of a "bank standard encryption" or better I would like to be pointed in the right direction of more secure code or advice from experts.

I am doing an assignment for my intermediate programming class. It is due tonight at 730. Anyways, I am almost finished, but I have run into a snag. I have this "bank application" and we are storing the info in a text file. However, whenever there is a deposit or withdrawal, the "accounts.txt" file is to be updated. All of the new account info is being written to a "Temp.txt" file and eventually will be renamed to the new "Accounts.txt" file. The problem I'm having is that it isn't writing non-updated account info to the temp file and I don't know how to make it do that while keeping the accounts in order and not rewriting the same account info more than once.

View 7 RepliesI have installed SQL Server 2005 Express and VB 2008 Express.
For testing, I created a database with 1 table with 4 columns. I used SQL Server to add 2 records. I then created a new project with 2 forms. On one form, I put a DataGridView control. On the other, I used bound text boxes. Both had a ToolStrip. I made changes to the data through the forms. Both forms seemed to work properly, except when I looked at the data again using SQL Server, the data had not changed. Opening the forms again, the data had reverted to the original data.
I am using the code created by controls, so it should work. When I use the Database Explorer in VB, it shows the table and the data and I can make changes to that data. So why is my code not committing the transactions?[code]...

I have a label that is supposed to display a word for 5 seconds and then move down the list in a text file and display the next word.I'm oddly able to make it work in random mode, but not going down the list in order.. random would be ok if used words didn't come up again.
