Jan 23, 2011I am creating class libraries in my project so that I can update code without having to update the whole app.I created a class library project and added some code to it. I also added a reference to System.Data.SqlClient and also imported it into the class file.I am getting an error and I have never seen it before. Been looking online and not able to find an answer yet.

Jan 26, 2009i am trying to connect to an MS Access database and I am getting an erro message on the following line of
searchtable_command = New SqlClient.SqlCommand(searchtable_string, testsearch_connection)
Error:'System.Data.Odbc.OdbcConnection' cannot be converted to 'System.Data.SqlClient.SqlConnection'.
Here my connection string:

May 4, 2007Is there something wrong with my connection string that I would get this exception thrown back at me from my code? I have the string saved in the code and when I try to create an SqlConnection I get the exception above thrown and below is my connection string which is actually the address to my DB file.

Even with a Backgroundworker. So my question is : is there a way to keep a constant connection between the form and the host? And not LAN ,I mean that doesnt need to be on the same router.

How can I control the component? For example, I want my component to not have a visible design view, I want it to stay below like the stopwatch component and the notifyicon component and such, it is not something to be designed. Then, how do I edit the possible properties a user can control, and make them effect the end result?

The new work needs to allow the users to create .dot files and perform mail merge operations. I have gone down the road of using the dsoframer component in the past and would prefer to avoid it if possible.
Can anyone recommend a good third party component that will allow me to do this sort of thing?
I have noticed that the controls I have looked at seem to be viewer controls allowing read only operations which is not good enough for this task.

Actually, what I really want to know is whether or not the order in which you Close them matters. Does calling SqlConnection.Close() completely close the connection, or will it remain open if you do not call Close() on a SqlDataReader using that connection?
I don't think I really understand how connection closing works.

This variable is sent to every class I need to execute a function or method. Instead of checking the connection in every single operation, is there any way to monitor the connection state in a centralized way ?
