VS 2008 Edit Anything In Control Panel
Aug 19, 2009Alright im going to make a new project that can edit anything in control panel.
View 1 RepliesAlright im going to make a new project that can edit anything in control panel.
View 1 Repliesme if it's possible to have a control (e.g. a picturebox) in one panel of the splitcontainer control, and then be able to drag the control in runtime to the other panel?
View 1 RepliesI created a custom control and I'm trying to insert it into a panel, but also center it.The control itself is larger than the panel, so I've set the AutoScroll property of the panel to True. I think that might be affecting it. Perhaps I should just offset the Y axis a bit.But, either way, this is what I'm trying:
VB .NET
'Create the control
Dim AutomationReport As New AutomationReportControl
[code]....
It works just fine with the X axis, but the control is out of bounds vertically. About 1-2 inches of the top is cut off.
I have a panel (A) which has movable panels (B) inside of it. How can I get a rectangle that contains all of the child panels (B)?
I tried to loop through the controls in the panel and get their x y height and width, find the highest, most to the right, most to the left, and lowest and put those numbers into a rectangle, but no luck.
I'm trying to create a custom control that contains a List(Of Panel). I quickly ran into an error about the base class Panel being nonserializable. So I created my own class that inherits from Panel and implemented the ISerializable interface. At the surface, everything appears to work, at least everything at design time. I don't know what would happen if I tried to run the application. Anyway, the errors occur when I try to open a file that contains my custom control. For example, I create a new Windows Form and add my custom control to it. I save the Form and close it.
Then I try to open the form and get the following error: Object of type 'MyTestApplication.SerializablePanel[]' cannot be converted to type 'MyTestApplication.SerializablePanel[]'.
I don't know what I'm doing wrong? I've opened the XML file to see what it's actually writing, and read the header notes about using binary base64 serialization. I think that's what I'm using, but I'm not sure.
Below is the code for the class SerializablePanel:
Imports System.Runtime.Serialization
Imports System.ComponentModel
<Serializable()> _
[CODE]...
Does anyone know if Windows sells this control that is used in Visual Studios:
I'm not really sure of it's name, I just call it a Panel Docking Control. I'm looking for any 3rd party versions of it also.
How to move a label up, down, left, right inside the panel control? The label should move up when I press a "button for up", the label should move down when I press button "button for down".
View 9 RepliesI'm trying to make a label control transparent over a Panel control.However by setting the background colour of the label to Transparent, it actually sees right through to the form itself, not the panel as intended.
As an example we use a panel with a background as white, we make the label transparent, however it gets the forms colour as blue.However, we are using a custom panel control and need the label to be transparent over the panel and not see the forms background.
I've got a Panel on a main Form containing a PictureBox control on Top of a TableLayout control. Both the child controls have their docking properties set to Top. The Picture control has sizemode set to Zoom.
What I'm finding is that the picture doesn't size properly when I start the app. There is a border at the top and bottom in the PictureBox control. It's only when I resize the overall form that it's correct.
So at the moment I've got this ugly bit of startup code, just to fix the problem Me.WindowState = FormWindowState.Normal Me.WindowState = FormWindowState.Maximized
What am I missing?
is it possible to make it so that you can use a button control to initate a drag movemnt of a panel control, that way you can click it move your mouse and when you click your mouse it will move the panel to what ever location you moved and clicked your mouse?

I need to center the red panel in the middle of the dark grey panel, when you resize the form the red panel should be in the middle, and the red panel can't be resize, anyone have a code or property to do this?
View 2 RepliesI have an application going here Form1 has a panel on it named TargetPnl. I need my TargetPnl to display my user control named Vviewer when I click my SearchBtn and also need it to disappear when I click another button.
View 1 RepliesI am retrieving some records from a database dynamically, not knowing exactly which table I need to query, or even which fields to retrieve. I display this data in a control that looks a bit like a listbox, except each item is two lines: a label and a value. Now, the user needs to be able to browse through this list until he finds the item he needs, and then he should be able to edit the item.
This application will (eventually, this is just a 'proof of concept') run on a mobile device or PDA or something like that, so space is limited. To allow the user to edit a value, I simply show a panel containing some edit control (textbox, checkboxes, combobox, etc), let the user edit whatever he's editing, save the change and display the list of items again.[code]...
is it add control to a form and add control to a usercontrol is using same method like me.controls.add(newpanel)?im a little bit confuse here because that way is not working. im trying to add a panel, to a usercontrol at runtime. the usercontrol is also added at runtime. for e.g. i have click add bar menu, than a usercontrol appear. then, when the usercontrol is selected and i click on add note menu, it will add a panel that contain labels to the usercontrol. this is what i have done. the 'me' is the usercontrol and i put this code under that usercontrol load event.

How to find out which Control the Panel currently contains.
If I show my forms through a panel , then how can I find out which form the panel currently has ?
Suppose I use a Panel to group collections of controls. How to retrieve a control from the panel? The following code example creates a Panel control and adds a Label and a TextBox to the Panel.
Public Sub CreateMyPanel()
Dim panel1 As New Panel()
Dim textBox1 As New TextBox()
[Code]....
If it is created a library file and added to another project, how to get textbox control in the panel?
with making a PictureBox or a Panel into a control bar like what you get at the top ofwindows. I just need to know how to make it so when you click it you can move the window.Ive put the form so it has no 'FormBorderStyle'

View 1 Repliesi am using a third party tool "lookupedit control" which is similar to a combobox. as we type in the address bar of our browser we get the related items in the dropdown of the address bar. eg: if e type go we get all the items starting from go in the drop down of the address bar. I want to implement the same functionality for lookupedit or a combobox.

View 11 RepliesI'm inheriting a couple of the common WinForms controls and then manually repainting them so that they will correctly render over a WinForm with the Aero Glass effect enabled. I have this working well with the TextBox. I ran into a snag with the ComboBox though in that it would only repaint some of the control. I fired up MS Spy++ and saw that the ComboBox has an Edit control in it (that's not in it's control collection). I can repaint that Edit box, but I need to get the handle of it and a couple of my attempts have flopped. I found some code that used the FindWindowEx API passing the Comboboxes handle but for me it returns 0.
hwndEdit = FindWindowEx(Combo1.hwnd, 0&, vbNullString, vbNullString)
Basically, I need the handle of the edit control inside the combobox (once I understand how to correct get that then I can get the additional controls in other ones I want like the ListView). Here's the Spy++ screen shots to illustrate (from Spy++ I can see the individual handles).
I have just about completed writing an application for college. I load quotes into a webbrowser control for the user to view and print, my question is, can the user edit text in a webbrowser control (I want them to have this option) or am I better off using a text box control.
View 1 Replieshow to add controls in panel control runtime. I mean, I want to add group box at runtime. When I click on my button, it should add a group box in my panel and when I click again, it should move the first group box down and add the second. Every group box should have a label control in it.
View 1 Replies I am trying to control the horizontal scroll of a panel box in vb.net. The problem is that I can only seem to move it just a little bit using the following code:
Private Sub HScrollBar1_Scroll(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.ScrollEventArgs) Handles HScrollBar1.Scroll
panSS.HorizontalScroll.Value = HScrollBar1.Value
End Sub
[Code].....
I have created a custom Panel Control as follows:
Namespace CustomPanelControl
Public Class CustomPanel
Inherits Panel
Public Sub New()
MyBase.New()
[Code] .....
Now I need to use it and make it fade in and out. This is a panel containing typical play, stop, FF, REW controls over a media player. Just like Windows Player or VLC, I want the panel containing the controls to fade out on mouse leave and fade in on mouse enter.
I've got a panel (pnlExpenses) with several labels and textboxes on it. I want the program to go through the dollar amounts entered in the textboxes and put the subtotal in a class level variable (dcSumOfExpenses). However, when the debugger passes through this Sub, objControl always shows a value of Nothing, and the Count of pnlExpenses.Controls always shows a zero. What is my code missing? The panel was added to a tabpage at design time, and the labels and textboxes were laid on top of the panel. Do I need to do something more to establish the panel's controls as a collection?
Private Sub SumExpenses()
dcSumOfExpenses = 0
Dim objControl As Control
[Code]......
I've in my program label+panel+image_control The label size varies according to the included data and I've to show it programatically as soon as the user move the cursor over the image (using the mousemove event), but unfortunately the label seems to be unstable as it appears in different locations in my form & sometimes hanging although i specify the location to appear in.How show the frame in front of the panel even though the frame sometimes may cross the limits of the panel control?
