Im planing to make a little radio application for my own use,I want a Combobox with list of items and a URLs binded to them.for example i got 3 items in the combobox:
Radio1
Radio2
Radio3
I want it to be like when im choosing the "Radio1" and press my Play button ( AxWindowsMediaPlayer2.Ctlcontrols.play() ), the 1.1.1.1/Radio1.asx will open.
I have a list of 100,000 urls in list(Of string) which can contain urls in the form. [URL] i have tried using a combination of regex and the Uri class, but that didn't help, so i dumped the code. How do i filter these duplicates and keep just one of these url

I'm making a combobox on a form. I want the combobox to have a list of choices from a table in a db. The two columns are a String and a Date. I want the date column to only show the year. I'm hoping I have the code right as it is above, but I'm not positive I've done the whole date thing right.

Mi'm working with a list box usually when i want to get the selected items i write something like this
listbox1.selecteditems(0).tostring
but when the listbox is databinded then i when i write this code i get the following string
datarow.view etc.
it seems that the item is the datarow and i can not get the actual selected items
When i use the code below to delete an item from a comboox, the text of the combobox deletes but the item still exists in the list

I have a datagridview binded to a list of objects... I have a column named Selected containing a checkbox. When these checkboxes are checked and a button is clicked, I want those particular rows to be removed. I initially set it out to iterate through the grid's rows and RemoveAt(SelectedRowIndex) but of course when it removes an object from the List of objects at the selected row (IE Row 1, 4 and 6), the list indexes change and it fails to work properly when it goes to remove the next row since Row 4 is now row 3 in the list...? What is the best way to do this?

I added a few items in the combobox dropdown list at the form load event. [code] At the runtime I dont want to allow the user to write something in the combobox as a text.The user can only select an item from the dropdown list of the combobox.

all URL are of different domains, but can usually have duplicates like the example i gave above
also, am using .net 2.0, so i can't use linq

View 4 RepliesI'm pretty new to visual basic .net (have been a hobby VB6 developer for a few years) but now i have moved on to vb.net and i must just say it, what a difference in the language!So im trying to make a program that connects to several websites and parses some information out and then add the information to a listview list. The listview have 2 columns: Site and Nuts. So i load a bunch with urls in the site columns (that isnt a problem) but the problem is to take 5 websites at the same time and connect to them and then write "OK" in the Nuts columns.

i have 6 combobox and all of them have the same items. the items are random numbers. the problem is that i want the user to select a number from the first combobox but i dont want him to select the same number from the second one or the third. I hope you can understand what i mean.

So far this has gone without a snag and is working as planned except for one thing, Comboboxes. I have browsed through the various types of settings I can save to and the closest is a "System.Collection.Specialized.StringCollection", however VB is throwing up an error saying that:

I have struggled to find a way to make this work. I have a listbox that has 5 items. These items are lets say Company Name, Address, User Name, Phone, Fax. On the form I also have the same labels with richtextboxes under each of the above names.What I am looking to do is have each listbox item equal the text that is related to each textbox. View 4 RepliesI have a listview (details) with owner draw set to true (so i could make rows alternate in color, looks cooler) which basically contains items and subitems whose texts reflect status info that updates constantly
the problem is, sometimes (if the task runs quickly) the status changes really quickly, and as a result, listview items "flicker" for a millisecond no error, no real problem, its just really annoying and makes the program look less professional.
Is there a way to make the listview not flicker? Or maybe there is a way to make it so that the listview doesn't process too many drawsubitem calls during the same time interval? or maybe there is some customized list view out there that does the trick better?
NOTE: i tried with owner draw set to false. it flickers less, but still flickers. same problem :S
Also NOTE: i am not making cross-thread calls. i have 50 items in the listview and 4 colums, mainly the last 2 subitems change.
I've searched on the Internet and I can't find a solution to this simple problem. I've also looked on Microsoft's MUCH improved MSDN site and haven't found a solution, so here it goes.
