VS 2008 : Get The Contents From Textboxs That The User Has Typed In
Oct 6, 2011
I currently run several online leagues for sports games such as fifa, pes, and rugby, across both xbox 360 and ps3 platforms. I want to produce a program so that basically they fill in their online name, what platform they play on, and what game they prefer. So basically, how do I get the contents from textboxs that the user has typed in and then e-mail it to an e-mail address that I can access?
I am working on an internet cafe program for the desktops. This is how it works, the login files are stored on a ftp server in the form of txt files (E.G. USERNAMEpassword). The files are opened in the background of the program. Then once the login button is clicked, the two text boxes (passwords and username) will combine together and then in the background will look for the username and password as a single line of code.
I want to be able to see if the values a user inputs into 2 textboxs equals the values assigned to a picture. I put these values in the picture's name and tag. Also the picturebox is getting the image from a random function correlating to an imagelist. How would i go about thisI thought of maybe using a checkbox and coding
If picturebox1.image.tag = ("12") _ and textbox1.text = 1 _ and textbox2.text = 2 Then checkbox1.checked = true
unfortunatly when i debug it says the picturebox1.image.tag = Nothing
I'm loading a text file into my textbox via stream reader however when I view this in notepad I see these things in it, then on my form the convert to new lines, how can I remove them?
how do I access the information that the user has typed into my datagridview. In my case, I know I want the information stored in column 1 of the datagridview one row at a time. How can I get at this information?
I have a TextBox, and I want to force the user to type an email format in this field like ([URL]) ? I don't want to use FilteredTextBoxExtender or the RegularExpressionValidator. I want to do it manualy.
I have a Windows vb.net project that does an occasional "auto refresh" based on a 20 minute timer. I want to avoid any type of auto-refresh... if the user has manually had any interaction with the program (mouse move, click, keystroke, anything) in the past 5 minutes.
I added a global variable "Dim g_LastActivity As Date" so the timer can detect that 5 minute mark.
Is there some place to put my "g_LastActivity = NOW" line that will ensure it will happen during ANY user activity? All mouse clicks, on all buttons, all mouse moves, anywhere, all keystrokes, basically EVERYTHING.
I have two text boxes on my form. text box 1 allows a user to type in a number (decimal) and text box 2 will display the smallest number typed in so far. The idea is to find the smallest number typed in by the user in text box 1, by using the Math.min method to compare each number typed in by the user to a variable that contains the smallest number to the point. Then replace the variable value with the smaller of the two numbers. To make it work for the first number. I have to initialize the variable to 99999. (no if else statements should be used).
I would like the autocomplete list of a textbox to be the words that the user has previously typed and saved. For example if they enter "dog", "cat" and "fish" I want the autocomplete suggests to show these three options. So far my Code only shows the last user input. I expect there is an easy solution as I am new to all this, but I can't seem to find it on my own.
When the user clicks an "Edit" button on my form, I want a box to come up which allows the user to edit a DataTable in a strongly-typed DataSet. What's the best way to do this?
I'm in the process of adapting a current program that I've created to automate it. **Current State***User selects an excel file and the contents are loaded into a DataGrid User can select which environment to run their query against (stage/prod) Program completes processing and updates datagrid with new values User can export datagrid to excel What I'd like to do is centralize the program on one computer and have it monitor a network folder for creation of a specific file type (*.xls or *.xlsx). If one of these is created in that folder then I want to add that file to a queue for processing. Once done processing I want to send the results as an attachment to an email to the user that created the file. After a file is processed I would like to remove it from that folder as well (into a diff folder of completed items).
I am deleting a row from a row that is currently selected on a datagridview.I am using a Typed dataset and my datagridview is bounded to a binding source. However, I think my technique is not the best, even though it works.
Dim drDelete() As DataRow ' Get the value of the PK from the currently selected row Dim drv As DataRowView = CType(bsAddressBook.Current, DataRowView)
I'm working on an application (ASP.NET, Webforms) that generates a list of outputs based on a user input. I want to allow the user to save the contents of said list as text file, or possibly as other filetypes such as .csv.Can it be done client-side with Javascript?
I am trying to do the following: Public WithEvents frmButtons(999) As Button
And then use it like this: Private Sub frmButtons_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal index As Long) Handles frmButtons.Click
Where the index variable has to represent the object in the array like this: frmButtons(index).Text="..." But it gives me an error: 'WithEvents' variables cannot be typed as arrays.
I have a single instance app that is working fine except for this strange (to me) issue.
The user could double click on FileA and my app opens and displays the file contents (the path of FileA has been passed as a parameter) No problem there. The problem is that if the user then double clicks on FileB and I read the parameter it still contains the path to FileA. What trick am i missing here?
(If i add a debug line that forces the code to be FileB's path the the app works correctly in terms of opening a new tab, reading the contents etc.) (vb.net 2010)
I am using VB 2008 & Access 2007 for windows forms application having typed datasets while creating connection to DB vb asks to store connection string so i did it now that i want to know where is the actual path of file where these connection strings are stored. b'cas after runnig a macro in Access Database i lost all these connections from Data Source Configuration Wizard Combo Box & also i am anable to create a new connection to Databases.I have tried to reinstall the entire Visual Studio couple of times .
I'm trying to do a LINQ Query against a typed datatable that will return me duplicated data. With out going into too much detail, here's the basic setup:
strCode1 - string type intCode1 - int32 type intAdjustor - int32
There are more fields but these are the ones that are important.I'm going to do my best to describe this, as it's kind of confusing. In theory intCode1 is a key for strCode1 (hence the names). So each time intCode1 is duplicated, the same strCode1 should appear. Example:
[code]...
Ultimately I'd like to get a List(Of T) - where T is my typed data row. In SQL, I would simply use a sub query, to get a distinct list of strCode1 and intCode1, then do a count, grouped by strCode1 where I get more than one row.I'm not sure how to translate that into LINQ, AND get the original types data rows returned in a list.
i am trying to do is i have two textboxs which have figues in them and need the 3rd textbox to display the figure the code.[code]I want the answer doesnt display in the textbox as i want it but when i click on the text box nd type anything the answer shows but in the error
