See If The Values A User Inputs Into 2 Textboxs Equals The Values Assigned To A Picture?

Apr 21, 2010

I want to be able to see if the values a user inputs into 2 textboxs equals the values assigned to a picture. I put these values in the picture's name and tag. Also the picturebox is getting the image from a random function correlating to an imagelist. How would i go about thisI thought of maybe using a checkbox and coding

If picturebox1.image.tag = ("12") _
and textbox1.text = 1 _
and textbox2.text = 2 Then
checkbox1.checked = true

unfortunatly when i debug it says the picturebox1.image.tag = Nothing

Improve Speed Of Program - User Inputs Min And Max Values

May 3, 2012

I'm currently trying to improve the speed of my program. Basically the user inputs min and max values for a, b, c, and d and a constant n, and then it tries to find the curve/line in the form a (x/b + c) ^ n + d. However for large ranges (1-100 for a,b,c, and d; total of 100 million values to try), it would take around 100 minutes at the current rate (approx 800k values/minute). I'm wondering whether I can further improve the speed. [Code]

Validating 3 Textboxs For Numerical Values Only?

Feb 26, 2012

I've made a temp converter and i'm looking to get some validation for it. I have looked online, but most do it in a way that i don't want.

I have 3 text box's, of which i only want numerical values and nothing else to be entered into the boxes. However, i would like the validation to run when a button is pressed (in this case, the calcualtion button). I would like a messagebox to pop up stating there is a non-numerical value entered into any of the boxes and for the calculation code to not run.

Testing For Month Equals Zero With The Values Returned By An SQL Query?

Aug 3, 2011

I've got the hang of using dates now, but I haven't learned how to test multiple results of a query. I can return a value from a query, but I'm unsure how to return many without putting them into a data grid view or an object on the form. (In Visual Basic)I have to check when a particular investment needs to be bought or sold, there will be more than one in almost every case. I've got the function to find out the interval between the months, checking if the asset is bought or sold in month x, but I'm unsure how to test it against multiple assets at once - nor do I know the best way to do so.

Getting Inputs Values To Display True Or False?

Nov 18, 2011

I have several text boxes that I will input answers into and I want them to catch the values if they are incorrect or correct.

Example: the user will input a Letter for the answer, A or a, and I was curious to how the correct input can detect if the answer is correct. If the answer is A B C or D then no message should display but when it's some other value this message will come up.How do I use true or false in this code?

Dim dbl1 As Double
dbl1 = CDbl(txt1.Text)
If dbl1 Not 'A OR a' Then
'Display message
MessageBox.Show("Enter A, B, C, or D")

FormView - Assigned Values On Load Not Displaying

Jun 7, 2011

Normally I've been lucky to find someone who has had the same problem and applied their solution but after hours of searching I'm not able to find a solution to this one. I've got a FormView which is default mode set to Insert. When the page is loading I'm checking to see if the session variable which the formview datasource is set to has a value. If it doesn't I've coded in the onLoad that some of the controls in the InsertTemplate would be set to specified value.

Using The Button Store (btnStore) The Values Are Perfectly Assigned To The Array?

Jul 24, 2009

In my example, i use a class array to which I assign values looping through textboxes in my form. Using the button Store (btnStore) the values are perfectly assigned to the array (i use an msgbox to check). The problem is that when i created another button (btnTest) to test if these values can be read outside the btnstore code, I get an error (NullReferenceException unhandled) which informs me to use the new keyword (cannot be used with arrays).I suppose the same applies when trying to access the array from another form. The question is how can i assign the values to the array "forever" and be accessed from "everywhere" in my program ?(tried public, friend, redim preserve the array with no luck).

VS 2010 - Making Grid Or Picture With X / Y Values

Dec 16, 2010

I've been trying to make a grid to test some AI stuff I'm working on. I managed to do it using rectangles and graphics.rectangle (pens.black, rect) by using a vid on youtube, but it made the application virtually useless because of all the memory it was using. I don't need it to be an actual grid, but I do need it to have values as if it was a grid, so that I can issue commands (x,y coords). (I have been searching the forums for over an hour, but all examples are either useless or cant be converted correctly).

Mar 23, 2009

I have a DEM file(Digital Elevattion Model File) and I am trying to open the file, where we have Latitude and Longitude values inside the DEM file. And, Now I have opened the file using Filestream and Read the file using BinaryReader. But, I am having a trobule in getting the values of Latitude and Longitude.I am getting Byte values randomly as 1,202,31,271 etc. But, we dont have latitude and longitude values more than 180,and also I am not getting 16 bit UInt values. For example, the values should be like Latitude 20.00416666666667 and Longitude 39.99583333333333.So,read the correct Byte values of the DEM file. The code I have used till now is:

Dim fs As FileStream = New FileStream("C:UsersadminDesktopHeader and DEM fileE020N40.DEM", FileMode.Open, FileAccess.Read)
Dim rd As New BinaryReader(fs)
Dim convertDB As UInt16

.net - IEnumerable.Equals Seems To Call The Wrong Equals Method

May 23, 2012

I implemented a PagedModel class to wrap around IEnumerable to provide paging data for grids in my MVC app.I used Resharper's auto-generated Equality code telling it to check the data, total rows, page number, and page size fields.[code]I found the call to Equals(other._ModelData, _ModelData) peculiar, as AFAIK, this checks that it is the same object rather than that the contained items are the same. Because my tests were failing anyways, I went ahead and changed it to other._ModelData.Equals(_ModelData) with no success. Then I reflected into it at debug time and found that other._ ModelData.GetType().GetMethod("Equals",{GetType(Object)}).DeclaringType was Object! Obviously, that would result in the failed comparison.I came up with a solution to create a EnumerableEquals method which compares every item in the two enumerables to confirm the are the same, but it seems sloppy. Is there anything I can do to use the normal .Equals method? [code]

(VB2010) Save The Values To A File Which Loads The Values In The Specified Labels On Startup?

Jun 2, 2011

lets say I have a form (form1) with lables a-z which are all designed with default text "0". So they all show 0 on program startup. which is fine. I also have a dialog with 2 TextBoxes; I want my program to update the default text/value on (only)form1 labels x, y and z to whatever was put into the textboxes when i press the OK button on the Dialog, so these specified labels show the 'new' value on next startup. Is it even possible or should I save the values to a file which loads the values in the specified labels on startup?

How To Find Repeated Values In One Dimensional Array And Change The Values

Jul 14, 2009

I am using Visual Basic express edition 2008.I am trying to know if a value in a single dimensional array is repeated in the array. If yes, then multiply one of them by 100. For example:

MyArray (14) = 12, 15, 18, 15, 18, 11, 15, 18, 16, 14, 18, 8, 12, 17, 10
In the above example:
MyArray (1) = MyArray (3) = MyArray (6) = 15
MyArray (2) = MyArray (4) = MyArray (7) = MyArray (10) = 18
MyArray (0) = MyArray (12) = 12

Averaging Event Values Associated With Date Values By Hour, Day, Etc

Oct 28, 2010

I have a bunch of events with values (how many people went through a doorway). Each event is associated with a Date. There is no fixed period to the events .If no one comes through the door, no event is generated, but often multiple people can go through at once, so the value can be greater than one.

Sometimes events are minutes apart for a time, sometimes there is gaps of a few hours,

Using the Date class, is there an easy way to average my values over periods of time?

Datagridview Bound To Bindingsource: Displaying Both Old Values And The New Values

Mar 23, 2011

I bound datagridview to bindingsource. The bindingsource has its datasource a collection Called Rates which is a collection of Rate items. The rate object has a property called VALUE. I need the user to be able to edit different values for the collection; However, on the datagridview, i need to keep displaying on one column called OldValue the existing Rate value before the change while allowing the user to edit that value in a second column called NewValue.

In other terms, One colum OldValue will keep the existing values from the DB before being edited by the user, this column OldValue is readonly. Another column NewValue will display, the 1st time, the old value from the DB (similar to OldValue when we do the Fetch from the DB), but it`s editable column, so the user can modify each value in the column NewValue without overriding OldValue cells. For now, I bound both columns OldValue and NewValue to the same property VALUE of the Rate object,
