I want to make it as an Installer.how can i make it a setup file so that user double click it and the software get installed silently? I used in my program ms-access 2007 database and some other sound files which i linked to my project and some vedio files.Suggest me how can i make all the files as in a single installer or setup.

The program installs fine, but If I want to reinstall it I get an error message saying the program is already installed and I have to uninstall it first. Is there a flag somewhere when I create the setup file to allow it be installed over itself?

The user could double click on FileA and my app opens and displays the file contents (the path of FileA has been passed as a parameter) No problem there. The problem is that if the user then double clicks on FileB and I read the parameter it still contains the path to FileA. What trick am i missing here?
(If i add a debug line that forces the code to be FileB's path the the app works correctly in terms of opening a new tab, reading the contents etc.) (vb.net 2010)
I have a situation where I am handling both single & double mouse click events on a form. In both cases something has to be loaded, however when a double click occurs, I do not wish to execute the code attached to the single click event.Is there a way to intercept the mouse click's and check if double or single and then execute the right event appropriately?
View 2 RepliesI have a vb.net application that uses Flash movies (AxShockwaveFlashObjects.AxShockwaveFlash). I have buttons in the flash movie. When they first start using the application, they can single click on the buttons in the flash movie and button responds accordingly. But after a while (and I haven't been able to pin-point an exact thing that changes it or my issue would be solved), the user has to double-click on the button in the flash movie for them to work.

View 2 RepliesI have created setup file and installed successfully. while removing the Application from my system by using Add/Remove programs I got the Error as below,"Error 1001. Exception occured while the installation.System.Io.filenotFoundException.could not load the file of assembly file or one of its dependencies. the system cannot find the file specified."..After that i got one more Error box that says "fatal Error during installation"..By the above errors i could not uninstall the Application from my system.How can i solve this error? and is there any other way to uninstall the application from my Machine?

I have been trying for days now how to create a process to the user to easily create a connection to any installed data types they have installed. I have found an example right inside vb2008. I never use this because I code my own connections, but this would be real nice if I could include it or duplicate it.

View 5 RepliesI have a problem with a Save button on a toolbar firing the click event twice if the user double clicks the button as opposed to single clicking.Disabling the double click on the toolbar itself seems to make no difference as it is the actual save button that is being clicked twice.I have tried setting a Boolean to stop the event firing twice but it is just too quick!I didn't have this problem with my code before as the server call was not async... and reverting back is not really an option.

However, the image is small and they can't see it clearly. So I would like to make the image clearer by making it bigger when mouse hoover and double click. My program will lunch when you double click a .rtf file but doesnt load the file. Can someoen help me on this. The next step I would like to take, is for the web page to programatically go to the local *.tiff file, and simulate a double click in Windows Explorer.
This should then either Open the file, or ask what program should be used (as per all non recognized file types in windows).
When I read a value from text box I want to make sure user has entered a number(int/float/double etc.) not a string. Is there any function to check it? otherwise how do i validate it.

I'm coming to end of a program I've been writing for quite some time now. In this program, I use text files to store/retrieve all the data I need for the program. I've save each file with text characters, with a file extension of .fad.
The problem is, how do I make it so when someone double clicks on one of my .fad files, it launches my program and opens that file?
how can I get my own icon to appear on my .fad files?
My Program is selected as the default program in the registry for any RTF file that is double-clicked. I want my program to load the RTF file when I double-click it in windows explorer, however, I also have my program set up so that it always opens the last file I had open, which is stored in an INI file. I do not know how to detect that a file have been double-clicked in Windows Explorer within my program as it loads (FormMain_Load), and then load that file instead of the last file open.

It looks like it is basically working - I can create a new windows project and add items from the toolbox, edit the code etc. If I open an existing project (created on another box) things load properly but I cannot open any forms in designer view (I can open them in code view).
