VS 2008 Mscorlib.dll Error On Some Installations?

Background info: I have an app that I recently had to upgrade from VB6 to VS2008. It was only an upgrade so there are still some VB6 components in the app.My problem is that I get the following error from one of the forms in my app.
Err Number: 5
Source: mscrolib
Err Decription: Exception has been thrown bt the target of an invocation.My problem is that I don't experience this error during debugging. Out of 20 computers 5 will have this error, the rest will be fine.
The exception occurs when a form is opened that has: The form has an AxMSFlexgrid on it 2 textboxes and a command button. where to look for the problem, or a possible solution.The Problematic installations is running XP SP3 and .NET 3.5 SP1 (installed)

I've written a VB.NET program for a client that stores all of its data in XML files. I use the XMLReader to read the data into a dataset. When I run the sub to encrypt the XML file, I'll get the following message: Error: mscorlib: The requested operation cannot be performed on a file with a user-mapped section open.
It doesn't happen all the time, so I know it does work. But on occassion, I'll get this message. I've been all over the forums and I've tried everything I've read to try and stop this error.
I close the reader object and set it equal to Nothing. I've even tried using DoEvents to make sure the object finished closing before running the Encrypt sub. Nothing has helped.
I develop on a x32 PC. It works fine on the development machine. But then, when the client runs it on a x64 PC, he gets these errors. Could the x64 system really be running so fast that the .Close() and the = Nothing and evern the .DoEvents() can't keep up?

is there a way to keep the settings stored in My.Settings from being "reset" during an upgrade installation? Every time I put out a new build of any application using My.Settings the settings in My.Settings are reset to whatever they are in the visual studio designer.

We have developed a mail server. It's working fine on all Windows7 machines. But on XP machine, it gives the error of system.fileloadexception and file which is shown in error message is mscorlib. And one more thing is, this error message is not coming on all the XP machines. We have searched a lot on google to resolve this problem. And many developers have faced this problem. But we have not found any solution.

I have a VB.net application that has been built for awhile. I recently added a barcode in active reports 6 to one of the reports. everything works fine on my machine as well as others, but a select few get an error relating to the following: [Code] Do I need to update the mscorlib.dll on the users machine? I wrote a POS system a few years back, about 5 Then updated it about 2 years there after, so it has been running without problems for about three years now.All of a sudden of saturday, The following error comes up, System.outofmemory exception in mscorlib.All the system does is run the POS. Its not connected to the internet, nobody installs anything on there.And to make it worse, I now specialise in web strategy, and am a 'bit rusty' when it comes to vb.net applications.

I have two Datagridviews, Datagridview1 populates from and excel workbook the user selects. After that the user does a verification on the data. The Requirement I have is for the two grids to mark any records in yellow that are the same so the user knows what needs to be done.
I did the code to match the Cell Contents as there was no other way.Datagridview2 is the sartting point, the value in colum 9 is what needs to be found in Datagridview1 so i loop through the rows, colums by column, It finds the first lot and marks them yellow but then stops with the error. It does not run through all the entries.

This is basicaly what i did but it stops after the 7th or so time it passes through all the code. I have more that 3500 rows of data to verify each time the workbook is opend, that is why i need to mark the Cells in yellow so i know what has been done.im stuck, everything works fine in the whole app, from importing data from excel into datagridview to the marking of other fields for some other reason, This is the ons that does not want to work.

I upgraded a solution with multiple projects from VS2008 to VS2010.One of the projects, a class library project, won't compile, although there are no errors in the error list.On the References tab of the project properties, the above error is displayed: "Could not resolve mscorlib for target framework '.NETFramework, Version-v4.0'.This can happen if the target framework is not installed or if the framework moniker is incorrectly formatted." .NET framework 4 v4.0.30319 is installed, and so is v3.5.All other projects build and work fine.Not all workstations experience this - some workstations can open the same solution without this problem occurring.Computers which have this problem also have VS2008 installed, and the same project compiles without issue in VS2008 on the same machine which has the problem in VS2010.

I am Using Visual Studio 2008 Express edition (.NET Framework 3.5) ... I got this Error when Using A recursive Call To a Function .. I have 3 Background Workers Which Select Data From Database With Status =0 , Take The file Name And File Path Asssosiated With That record, and Then Copy it to other place and on successful completion update the status to 2 otherwise to 3 . and again searech for other record having Status 0 and so on ..
i made a method for selection of record from database every worker call this function . Now I have a check when dataset is filled i checked is there any row ? if yes then it do the rest of work otherwise agin call it self to search for the record...ECURSION.. 1/is on my PC's hard drive, its not a web app or on a network share
2/is launched via a desktop click
3/ has a manifest specifying executionlevel "AsInvoker"
It does not occur when the Application is run as an Administrator. It does not occur if I read the value with a non .NET program when logged in as OPER whch makes me think it is a .NET problem not a registry permissions problem. Examining "Effective Permissions" shows that my OPER login has query value permission.I need the application to be able to read the key like the non .NET application while running at USERS level.

I imported an app from vb6 to vb.net It works fine. It has one axmsflexgrid control. Now I want to add another axmsflexgrid control in the same app. I tried to copy and paste from one frame (groupbox) to another and got this error:

I'm using Visual Studio Development Server (Visual Basic 2010) and it works fine. Now I've enabled NTLM Authorization because I want to test the website using a different user account. Now when I try to access the website I always get the following error page:
Server Error in '/' Application.
HTTP Error 403 - Forbidden.
Version Information: ASP.NET Development Server 10.0.0.0 .I'm using a test account which is a normal user within our domain. I've already set the access rights in my project folder to Full Access for this user but it does not help.
