VS 2008 Mshtml.dll Can Not Be Added?
May 11, 2010how to reference/add mshtml.dll to project as described on this url. It explains how to reference SHDocVw.dll but not mshtml.dll. I can't see it in the list and when I browse to the file on windowssystem32 an error pops saying I can't add it to the project.

Researching the error tells me that HTMLDocument isn't fully qualified. Isn't this fully qualified? If I change it to Microsoft.mshtml.HTMLDocument then it says it's not defined.

Sep 21, 2006I seem to be in a quandry over an error that makes no sense to me.In following some examples I have found on the Net, I've been attempting to use the MSHTML library in vb.net to access the HTML DOM.[URL]...when I look at the error message, it tells me that memory could be corrupt elsewhere. I've attempted this line of code by omitting the "http://"portion of the URL, byt trying numerous web sites, and with various other arguments in the 2nd parameter, such as "", ControlChars.NullChar and "null". May 20, 2009I am using mshtml to parse HTML in my ASP.NET-MVC application. Works great on my development machine, which has VS2008 Professional installed. Works great on my staging machine, which has VS Express 2008/WebDev installed. But it throws a FileNotFoundException when trying to load the COM object on the production server, which has no versions of Visual Studio.
Exception type: FileNotFoundException
Exception message: Could not load file or assembly

I don't want to install Visual Studio on the production box. I have read a suggestion that running C:Program filesCommon FilesMerge modulesvs_piaredist.exe solves this problem but this directory does not exist on my production box. How can I use mshtml on the production machine?

Jan 31, 2012Below is is an HTML form and below that, is a vb procedure, "LoginExamp" that enters in the username and password. I am unable to locate the button however and click it since it does not seem to show up as a mshtml.HTMLInputElement. "htmlInput.click()" never runs. How can I adjust the loginExamp code so that the button is clicked.

Apr 15, 2011I'm calling the following method from a button click event to export a datatable to excel. After the export is completed, the excel application object is quit, released and assigned to nothing. But in reality it's not getting released and stays active unless the entire application is closed. So every time the button is clicked for export, a new excel application object keeps on running. The problem doesn't occur if two of the lines from the method below are not used. But I can't omit them as they are really needed. Check the * marked lines.

VS 2008 Visual Studio 2008 Randomly Crashing When Simply WRITING Code?
Oct 25, 2009i'm running Visual Basic 2008 Express Edition (latest service pack ... 9.0.30729.1 SP) on XP Pro SP3 with .Net Framework version 3.5 SP1 I have a rather large project I've imported from Visual Studio 2003 (Standard).The project compiles and runs just fine ... my compiled program itself never crashes.
But while I actually have the code up in the IDE, and simply adding/deleting code the whole IDE will randomly crash (usually without warning) and I loose my changes since last save.If/when I do get some hint of why it crashed, I get a window about illegal whitespace or something.... but that's rare ... usually it just crashes without warning and the whole IDE completely shuts down instantly. just deleting/adding a character is enough to trigger it maybe once every 30 minutes.
This is on a computer that is otherwise very rock solid .... no other program ever crashes, etc.
