Is there a way to programmatically send information from a text box into specific columns in a DataGridView? I tried

and it obviously does not work.
I wonder if it is possible to find a specific row and specific columns in data base file (Access) . You see , I am using a DataGridView control to show only SOME of the columns (fields) of a table from an Access file . For example , lets say that in the DataGridView control I only show the following fields :Field1 , Field2 and Field3 .Now , when the user selects an entry in the DataGridView control , I want to insert the text from Field4 into a text box on the form .
The problem , however , is that I don't know how to get the specific row in the data base file and also I don't know how to get the text in column (field) Field4 of that row .One thing that might be important is that the index of the row in the data base file is not necessarily the same with the index of the current row in the DataGridView control . This is because in the DataGridView control the rows are order by the contents in the ID Field .ol .
I only want specific columns to show up in my DataGridView, so I run a dynamic sql query to select specific columns from a table on a sql server(I know its slow, but its only used once a day). However, every column from the table shows up in the datagrid, and I can't figure out what i'm doing wrong.

I want to be able to have a dozen or so text boxes be emptied into separate columns in a row of a datagridview. This way the text boxes can be cleared and have new values entered then save the new values as a second row in the datagridview. This is so my VB gui which which runs everything through an old cmd line program, can do batches instead of one run at a time.
The problem is I have absolutely no idea how datagridview works. I've tried searching google and only found some vague things and stuff about databases. I also tried the MSDN library and that was of no help either, couldn't find anything on simply adding stuff and if I had it'd probably be to complicated to be of use to me.
I have created a Datagridview with 4 Columns, EJ: ID, Name, Quantity, other..But i want to fill these 3 Columns from MySQL EJ:[code]but this creates new columns and does not write to the existing, took a while looking for a solution but only find methods like this.

My goal is to connect to my database either manually or using an sqladapater, and get information from two of my databases on sql server 2005. Then I want to take this information and on run-time begin to add/subtract/divide/multiply certain columns and place the information into other columns. I have column memo in datagridview memo column cells has some time various number of words. If I put more words in memo column it gives scroll bar at the footer I don't know how to wrap text in them cells programmatically. Just want to fix column width and wrap text vertically. does it increase height of cell as well.

What I want to do is when I click on each grid on the form (Touch Screen), a tooltip of some stored information about the grid appears on screen. For example, if I click my mouse on square 6,8 then some stored information such as grid number, grid name, level...etc appears on the tooltip on the screen.
Currently I have been using mysql connectors to send and retreive information from my database. Someone suggested that a web service (wdsl? etc) would be a more efficient way of sending information both ways.

How to change the font color of the column header text in my datagridview if the entire column is read-only. I basically use a loop to add columns to my datagridview and then set the properties of the columns. So i have a datagridview with two combos, when the form it's created i fill the first one with all the MainValues, and the second one with all possible values for the MainValues (called SecondValues) (1..N).Now my issue, when the user selects one value from the first combo i want to fill the second combo with all values related to the selected MainValue, i can do this for example by filling the datatable again with a parameter that filters the data, but if the previous rows have different main values, the dgv throws errors because it doesn't find the binded ones in the new filtered datatable.
How can i handle this? One datatable for each line?! Other thing, i'm using the SelectionChangeCommited event for handling the values change (in theEditingControlShowing), but if the user uses the keyboard to select the values the event doesn't behave in the same way or the way that i need. The values in the combo are numeric values (1001,1020,2010,3010), when the user select one of the values, i need to fill another cell in the same row with the number selected plus some string, example combo:1001 cell:1001XPTO. So if the user presses 1 in the keyboard the combobox selects the 1001 and fills the cell with 1001XPTO, but if i keep pressing the keyboard to select the 1020, by pressing 0 and 2, i get the 1020 selected in the combo, but the cell remains with the 1001XPTO.

How to programmatically change foreground color and make bold text in individual cell location on DataGridView control (Visual Basic)?
I use "dgMatrix.Rows(r).Cells(c).Value = x" to assign individual numeric values to individual cells in a DataGridView control. My question; is there a similar way to change foreground color and make bold the text in this cell, by specifying the individual row/column cell location?
For example; for cell (row 3, col 5) in the DataGridView make text in cell say red and bold or blue and bold so as to highlight and distinguish individual cell contents. As needed, I will also need to reset these properties (foreground back to automatic/black and font from bold back to regular); the reset could be done globally to the whole DataGridView as opposed to indiviaually by cell.
I am working with an Unbound DataGridView. I would like to vary the contents of a second combobox based on what is selected in the first. I have code to add the columns and populate the first combobox, but I can't figure out how to do the second one since it can (and usually will) have a different list for each row AND the list must change when the selection in the first is changed.
