VS 2010 Add Compile Date To A Label?
Sep 28, 2010
In several of my apps I have Build Date shown in the Help -> About screen, just so that people can see how recent the version of the app they are using is. I just manually set the text of this label to the current date whenever I compile a new version of the app, but on more than one occasion I have forgotten... so I'm wondering if there is any way I can automate this?So just to clarify - I do not want today's date (as in the date that the program is being run on), I want to get the date that the program was compiled (either at runtime or compile time, just as long as I dont have to manually enter it)

Is there some clever way of getting the date and time of when the dll was built/compiled?
I'm using the assembly version numbering and reflection to retrieve and display this info when the app is deployed. But in some scenarios it would be more convenient to know when then dll was actually compiled rather than the auto incrementing version number. I don't think the modified date on the dll file itself is reliable due to the way the app is deployed.
Dim assemblies = AppDomain.CurrentDomain.GetAssemblies
Dim assemblyName As String
Dim assemblyVersion As String

It is supposed to change the forecolor if the listview date in the first column is less than label 3's date.
For ii = 0 To Me.ListView1.Items.Count - 1
Dim iInvoiceDate As ListViewItem = Me.ListView1.Items(ii)
If iInvoiceDate.ToString < Me.Label3.Text Then
[Code]....
No errors and all the variables are returning what i am expecting but it doesn't change the forecolor.

I have a "ClickOnce" application and on the Splash screen I display the Version. I am also displaying the "CreationTime" (see below) that I thought was when the Build or Publish was done. Today I realized it is displaying the date/time when the application is actually installed on the PC. How do I pull the date when the this version was compiled, Built, or Published? I really do not care which -I just want a constant date the sticks with that version. I'm using VB 2005.

I'm using VB.net 2010 express, where can I find the compiler option for 64bit? or, it will compile for 32bit only? or, it should work for both 32 and 64 bit in most case?I'm using a 64bit component in the program, vb express reports error when I compile it, but if I use the 32bit compnent, then it is ok.does it mean express 2010 automatically compile to 32bit? or somewhere I should set the win7 64bit (which is what i'm using).just start using win7 64bit & vb express 2010, got confused

I am having trouble finding a code for visual basic 2010 (or 2008) that will compile batch files to a .exe format. (So they can no longer be edited.)So far I've only found one program that does this (And was made in Visual Studios) and the program doesn't even actually work due to some unknown error. It'd be a great help to get a source code or just told that this isn't even possible.

I've found that when trying to compile any program I receive this error on build:[code]I've tried reinstalling/repairing VS, resetting my settings and changing the target framework with no success. I even tried installing VS on another PC (both are running win 7 Pro 64 bit) only to still receive the same error.

Assign the current Date to a label.
Example, if the current date was 25th December. Then the lblDate.Text property will be set to 25.
Also, how would you do this to get the month, but only the first three letters of the month?
Using the example above, the lblDate.Text property will be set to Dec.

How do I approach this? I'm wondering how I could write a new date to a label every four weeks. If I establish a start date, saved somewhere, I need the label to say 'Your next payment is due on: (a Friday, every four weeks ahead). Is there some way to use the date time picker using date difference? I would like this to continue updating so it shows a new payment date every fourth Friday. My difficulty is that the calculation is 13 payments a year, not 12 so I cannot just pick the same date each month.
