Compile VB 2010 Application With Access2007 Database Inside?
Oct 15, 2011
I am trying to compile my program, and each time i do the access database is outside the executable. I was wondering if it is possible to compile it and the database will be within the executable, or better still how do i make it an installer kind of application that sends all the files to the programes folder on the computer.
We would like to create a client-server architecture application that the server can control all client computers connected to it (e.g shutdown) and we would like to put a security login and a desktop lockeron the clients. The process of the system is that when the clients starts, the desktop is locked and ofcourse the user can't access the desktop unless he/she logged-in. And when the scheduled time (e.g 1 hour) is done, the client computers where automatically shutdown like the Time Logger Softwares
i have learned VB 6.0 a few years back, but started out in .NET with this one..Everything went pretty good, until now! I want to write my data from the application to my Access database (Frituur1).i have tried with several methods1:this takes place in my Module1:
Dim newJournaalRow As Frituur1DataSet.JournaalRow newJournaalRow = frmindex.Frituur1DataSet.Journaal.NewJournaalRow() newJournaalRow.btw6 = btw6
I am currently using vb2008 express, I want to have a database inside the finished application. Not one that connects to an external database or any outside connections but one so all the data is readable, writable, deletable from within the application itself.
Today I investigated a logical bug in our software and figured out that this is related to the way VB.NET thread variables inside a loop.Let's say I have the following code:
Dim numbers As New List(Of Integer) From {1, 2, 3, 4, 5} For Each number As Integer In numbers Dim isEven As Boolean
[code]....
The problem is that isEven is declared but not assigned. In this specific case, it would be correct to write dim isEven as Boolean = false but I haven't done this.In VB.NET, a variable that is declared inside a for loop keeps its value for the next itaration. This is by design: [URL]but this is also dangerous pitfall for programmers.
However, until now, I haven't been aware of this problem/behaviour. Until now. Most of our code base is C# anyway, which doesn't allow the use of an uninitialized variable, so there is no problem. But we have some legacy code that is written in VB.NET that we have to support. So the best thing would be to generate a warning or even an error in this specific case. But even with Option Explicit / Option Strict this does not generate a warning / an error. Is there a way make this a compile time error or maybe a way to check this with FxCop?
Once time, me needed to compile the library with different code inside class which determined with prroject wich inherits this library At first I tried in project declare #const and in library to use condition with #const,
I'm making a Singlish-English Word Prosessor. When user typing in a active window's TextBox those letters were automatically converted to the Sinhala language.I did that hard part with sendKeys() Function. But Now I want to set my application windows's location at Active Window's Blinking cursor(Caret) position. So It will easy to user with English-Sinhala Translation thing.
im new to coding (started coding last month) so im a little stuck on how to do this, im making some emulation programs to learn coding with, and a part of it is to point the app to a .iso/.bin file and scan the data inside of the iso/bin to check if a file exists.[code]My issue is i cant find any class examples, or any information etc on how to code it so my application can see the data inside of the iso/bin instead of just see'ing the iso/bin file, so that i can then check the data inside the iso to see if the file exists etc.Im a novice still at coding so making a new class myself to look inside the iso/bin is to complex for me.
but, when I run it, it produces an error: Compile Error: Variable not defined and it points to the second "Environment" string, the one inside the parenthesis. Is there a reference that I should be enabling?
These days I'm working on a VB.NET application which can be used to edit, compile and run C programs. how I can call a cl.exe process from within my VB program and also that how do I run the program in the console widow itself.
Presently I have only the editor ready. With that one can type in a program and save it with a ".c" extension. Now there are 2 buttons on my form - "Compile" and "Run". When the user clicks on the "Compile" button, the program should be passed to the cl.exe process and the errors should be displayed in another textbox or the DOS(black screen itself). And when the user clicks on the "Run" button, the ".exe" file which just got created should get executed.
Is there any way to attach some files along with my program so that the people who do not have "C" installed in their computers can also edit, compile and run C programs using my application?
I have no idea why when I compile and run my application in x64 mode or anycpu my application crashes some time. some times it returns : Unhandled Exception
Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt. and some times just says x has stopped working w/o details, any one knows anything about it ?
Is there a way to compile my application so it would be compatable with most OS?
When i compile my application, it runs fine on my computer but when i want to run it somewhere lese it asks for .net framework? My app is not even complicated and i wonder if there is a different way to compile it?
i am trying to compile my project into a .exe application. this project has already been compiled already but i made some improvements. i tried build>build solution but the program is not working
I have made a database application that uploads a database via FTP here is the code:
Code:

Code:
ContactDB.mdf is the database in my application what would i have to insert for it to upload the database i have tried it as it is and its failing i could locate its full path on my machine that works but what happens when i want the application to go on someone elses pc?
I need to create a VB.NET function that takes the source code of a VB.NET console application and compile it into a console application. For example, this is the VB.NET source code for the console application:
I am trying to change the Target CPU for my application and have read on the net to go to Project Properties -> Compile tab then click on the Advanced Compile Options. I am using VB.net 2005 Express Edition. Is this not available in Express Edition or am i looking in the wrong place?
I found a forum post about Visual C++, Visual C++ 2008 Express Edition And 64-Bit Targets , but how do I develop x64 applications under Visual Basic 2010 Express Edition?
In several of my apps I have Build Date shown in the Help -> About screen, just so that people can see how recent the version of the app they are using is. I just manually set the text of this label to the current date whenever I compile a new version of the app, but on more than one occasion I have forgotten... so I'm wondering if there is any way I can automate this?So just to clarify - I do not want today's date (as in the date that the program is being run on), I want to get the date that the program was compiled (either at runtime or compile time, just as long as I dont have to manually enter it)
I'm using VB.net 2010 express, where can I find the compiler option for 64bit? or, it will compile for 32bit only? or, it should work for both 32 and 64 bit in most case?I'm using a 64bit component in the program, vb express reports error when I compile it, but if I use the 32bit compnent, then it is ok.does it mean express 2010 automatically compile to 32bit? or somewhere I should set the win7 64bit (which is what i'm using).just start using win7 64bit & vb express 2010, got confused
I use a Vb 2008. I make connection with DB Ms Access2007. it show me this error couldn't find....... DBthen I change the DB Ms Access2007 to MS Access2003, and it works very well
I'm trying to access 2 tables within the same DB in Access 2007, but I have a problem when saving information to one of the tables, I can do it with one table but when I try to save the information to the second table the data gets overwritten, not sure why, because I use the same procedure for both of them, just changing the variables to avoid mixed data, this is the code that I use to connect with the DB and fill the DataSet:
Again, it works fine when saving info to one table, but using the exact same procedure (with different variables) saves the new data but overwrites the previous information
I am having trouble finding a code for visual basic 2010 (or 2008) that will compile batch files to a .exe format. (So they can no longer be edited.)So far I've only found one program that does this (And was made in Visual Studios) and the program doesn't even actually work due to some unknown error. It'd be a great help to get a source code or just told that this isn't even possible.
