I'm trying to make a program that takes my old records from Access and moves them to MySQL. Its supposed to take records from 3 different tables in Access to 3 different tables in MySQL. The first table is "Orders" and it sorts the ones to pull to the dataset, taxDS, by "Where Status = 'Waiting Payment' OR 'Cancelled'". Then the second table pulls its info(this is where i'm having trouble) by the "Control_Number" in the "Orders" table, so basically if the control number isnt already in the dataset its not going to pull the data into the new table "FNF Taxes".

I'm creating a database management program and I just got started. I will be using a login form and a form that is the management part. The MySQL connection will be created on the login form and I was wondering how to get it to the other form. What I thought I should do is create a public mysqlconnection property on the login form and just use it from there. I don't think I have ever known the correct way of transferring a mysqlconnection over 2 forms.
I am able to copy the complete online mysql database to the local ms access database, but the problem is that the local database needs to be emptied before the new data is being copied. And a progressbar needs to display the entire progress. Here is the code what I have now:

What i have going on, is i have a MySQL connector as a resource on my application, and im basically trying to connect to my MySQL server, to either a) register a new account, or b) check that the account exists and they are premium, and login, Now what i have run into problems with is: My MySQL Database Name has a _ in it which VB is not allowing for some strange reason.

How i can allow the _ into the application, because the only databases that don't have a _ in the user or dbname are a) Paid ones which i DO NOT have the money for or self hosted ones, i cannot leave my computer on 24/7

I am in the process in developing a new version of my software. I have changed my design of my database slightly (added a few new tables and new fields to existing tables). The issue is that my users have user data in the old Db that I would like to transfer to the new Db. Both Db's are access 2003. Because my software is distributed over a wide geographical are it would not be possible to do this manually

I am trying to access a FTP secured site (SSL/TSL) and transfer a file in VB.Net using FTPRequest. When I try to complete the transfer I get an error back "The remote certificate is invalid according to the validation procedure". However when I connect to the same FTP site with FileZilla UI, I can transfer files with no problem. Why can do transfers with FileZilla and not in VB.Net? Does FileZilla have its own Certificate?
I have a problem with transfering data from MSSQL Server 2005 to Access.
I need to make a VBScript that can take out all data from one table in mssql and update one table in Access. The tables exist in both databases and looks the same, but there can be more data in the table from MSSQL Server so i need to update the table in Access with this data.
E.g. I have a table called: SMP_Alert in both database's. So i want to do something like this (dunno if that is possiable):

I am currently building a tool which uses access as the backend and excel as the user interface (I am unable to change the applications).I would like to be able to use the listview option, howver I haven't a clue and searching on the internet is causing me a headache.
Basically what I would like to do is get the heading names from the table in access and populate the listview, later on I will what it to look at specifc data to populate the list view.
My connections is already open, I think I'm ok witht he sql, its just the other bits.
I created a presentation which runs in kiosk mode as a PowerPoint Macro-Enabled Show. Now the problem is, that the presentation resets itself to slide one if there is no user input for 5 minutes. How do I disable this feature?
I am using Powerpoint 2010 (Version 14.0.6112.500 (32-bit))On a side note: I already found an Add-In (KioskAssistant) which enables me to increase the time before the slide is reset. But this change is only done locally for my machine and not saved into the presentation itself. So this not a sufficient enough solution if I want to ship my presentation to my client

I will use the Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS) to transfer files from a client (laptop) to a shared folder on a server within our local network.The problem is a very slow network bandwith, if we transfer a file, the other clients canīt work, all requests to other clients (application) or viewing internet pages needs a long time.My idea is to use BITS in my tool to copy/transfer a file from client to server, also I hope to get more performance for the internet requests.

I need to transfer a block of pixel values as quickly as possible to a picturebox control. The data will be in a byte array representing 512 pixels by 4 lines. The data is greyscale values from 0 to 255 but I could easily store each value three times to represent R, G and B if that made it easier/quicker to write the values to the picturebox.I've used fastpix (by Vic Joseph "Boops Boops") in the past but this seems more geared towards fast plotting of individual pixels and as I have a pre-formatted block of pixel data I was wondering about alternatives. I've done a bit of research and BitBlt seems interesting, but can this be used with a byte array as the "source"? All the examples I've seen are for transferring/merging between bitmaps/pictureboxes. How about Direct Memory Access? I just need a simple "brute force" method of getting my pre-formatted data into the picturebox. Oh, when I say "fast" I mean I'd like to plot my 512 x 4 pixels in less than 10mS.
How will I transfer deleted record into another table instead of deleting it permanently? I think it is what we call "history"..somehow..For example I have 2 tables. 1 is Original_Record the other is Deleted_Record. If I deleted one record in Original_Record, the deleted record will be transfered into Deleted_Record table.
