VS 2010 - Creating Non Click Once Application

I want to create a simple Hello World or whatever kind of application I want but I don't want it to be a ClickOnce app and I'm using Visual Studio 2010. How would I do this. I'm interested in this because I'd like to have a custom add/remove program icon for my application and not the standard ClickOnce icon that you see. I'd also like to create a custom updater that wouldn't use ClickOnce, and I'd like to bypass all the "Are you sure you trust this publisher" messages that you get when using ClickOnce.

I have two forms , say FormA and FormB..In FormA, a Button Click i wrote FormB.Show.When i click again the button its creating another instance of FormB.i want to make FormB as single instane, if again the button event raised i need to focus the FormB rather creating another instance.

I'm trying to develop an application in VB 2010 that will monitor files in a directory that the user specifies. The problem is, this application is going to be installed in diferent computers with diferent Operative Systems (windows 2000 and XP).Is this possible? or should i change mi programming lenguage?Another thing that comes to my mind is that maybe i should use diferent frameworks (i'm afraid that framework 4.0 may not work in Windows 2000).I apologize if i'm posting in the wrong place, i'm new here.

I have a do until loop. But whenever my program get's to it, it always locks the application so I can't click on anything until the loop is finished. How do I fix this? I want to be able to stop the loop with a stop button.

Basically i am creating a console application that will create and store client information as a .txt file it is going okay but i have come across a slight hick up i want to use something on the lines of this .....

this works fine to trap out numbers from letters but the problem i am getting is when the program calls uppon LastName it is recording 0 and wanted to know if there is a way of getting past this ..... so basically i need a way to allow letter but not numbers and symbols and then dispay a pernolised error message but at the same time use Stream writer to save was the answer is in a .txt file.

I'm writing an application where when you click the "load database" button, it opens up a dialogbox where you have to go and open the database.txt which has a bunch of questions/answers.I want to make it so that after the user does that, the button disappears. But I can't get it to work at all. Here's what I have:

I am currently developing a small capture system program. What I intend to do is to create a hot key for my program to capture image (press F8 then it will invoke a button to click automatically). What I manage to do for the time being is only registerHotkey procedure. (Please refer to the coding below). I am unable to create a hot key which perform like a button click.
This is just a testing program: I have 2 forms specifically. Form1 with a button and form2 with a picture box.
I would like to run this program where I can just simply click F8(for instance) instead of clicking the button.
For the time being I am able to run this program and put it in the system tray when I minimize/closed it. When I click F9 the program will pop up again. What I would like to do now, is clicking F8 (for instance and the program able to click a button from form 1 automatically). I had used PerformClick but still unable to do so.

I am creating a program that requires the user to click a checkbox and then select a date in a Date Time Picker Control. There will be up to 20 entries. I need to know how to take all of the dates entered and display on a diffrent form the latest date selected by the user from all the entries on a form. All the options will be training selected and when the last training item is selected and a date entered I need to be able to output the training completion date wich will be the latest date entered in the form.

Im trying to create a diary system that on click event of the built in calander in vb.net opens the current diary entry for that day. i am using the my.settings variables to store the entrys the problems i am having is how to create a my.settings variable automaticly if one dosnt exist for that date (will be using the date of the clicked day as the name e.g. 10/5/2011)
So basicly i want the user to be able to click through the dates on the calander and the entry be displayed in a text box next to it, blank if nothing is there and the user can edit/save them after just need the code to auto create and i guess how to search the my.settings im quite new to using this storage, i normally use text files. the pic shows the program so far, it has one diary entry but it has no relation to the date. the label is linked to the calander also , displaying the selected date.

I have 2 listboxes on a form. Each listbox has a few items. As you know, I am able to have 1 item selected from each listbox, therefore making it 2 selected items from different listboxes.
I want to create a keyboard + mouse shortcut so I can de-select or change the selection mode of the listbox when Alt is held down and Left button on the mouse is clicked on the selected item. Here is the code that I wrote, which does not work.

I created 2 forms in Access 2003 (Form1 & Form2) for the purpose of creating a 'smartform' of sorts for my company. In essence they can click on a search feature in the top cell and input an employee ID # which automatically fills in about 10 to 15 fields.
- There is only 1 table attached to the forms.
- The group I created this for is uncomfortable using Access.
What I would like to do with VB.net:
- I thought I would create an internal webpage using VB.net so they wouldn't need to log into Access [the DB would be stored on a separate server.]
- I would need a clean & simple interface that has 2 buttons, one for each form.
-When the form is called up I would need a search feature "EMPLID _________" which would connect to the Access DB table and retrieve the correct information.
-Id also need to have the form printable & have the ability to search again or return to the front page.

I am trying to write a program using Visual Basic 2008 Express Edition that will automaticlay generate multiple Command Buttons that have different Texts and perform different commands.For example I want to generate Button_1 and Button_2 where Button_1 when clicked enters the value "1" into a textbox and Button_2 enters the value "2" into the same textbox.I know this can be simple done by using the designer and wirting the code in the Button_1_Click, but what I want to eventually achieve is for various buttons to be generated across different Tabs in a TabControl.So far I can create a button on a windows form using code, but the button has no purpose so command is assigned to it. i made a program and used a program called Advanced Installer to put all the files from the build folder into one big install exe file to send to people but one they've installed it and go to open it they get an error saying: "the application has failed to initialize properly (0xc000135). Click on OK to terminate the application" What does this mean? do i need to have the NET framework on the machine its being run on?

I have a smart client application deployed as a click once application called "PDFSplitter". The link to install this PDFSplitter is on our company intranet and when you click the link you get a "The publisher could not be verified. Are you sure you want to run this software?" message. Is there any way to make this message go away?

I am doing a project on the CRM application which can sending or receiving of emails and sms. Most of the CRM application that has been build is using the web form which mean the application of the CRM is build as website. But the problem is that I am doing it in the windows application. The CRM application that I am doing is the the admin can send/receive emails and sms. It is some sort like microsoft outlook. but the difference is that in microsoft outlook it can only send emails. When i search the internet for the gateway, there is no free gateway. Is there any examples for sending or receiving of sms and emails. My group partner is doing on the emails which he uses the SMTP server.

I am doing a project of CRM application which does sending and receiving sms/email. I am doing this using the visual studios 2005 ans SQL Server Database to store the send or received sms/email. I have search on sms in the internet but the problem is that it is using C# as I am using the vb.net language. Even though some of the research that i came across is in vb.net but the application did not work.
In my research, the sending and receiving of sms application uses sms gateway, AT command. But I am not sure which one to use becoz I am doing this application for my project. Hope for any recommendation on which one to use either the sms gateway or AT command or any other device. My lecturer said that my project is most likely like the M2U Mozat. Not only that I am doing the sms but also the email. The email part is done by my partner but the problem is that he creates the email using the SMTP server. How can using a SMTP server to create sms? It is because the part that I am doing which is the sms and the email to combine together.

i am kind of new to the programming scene, i am creating a battleships application and i want to know if it is possible to drag an image from a picture box, to another picturebox image at a specific spot in the image, like placing your ships? perhaps set the board as a background imagine, im working with visual basic.net for experienced programmers, and i ahve gotten the idea from the chess game they make,unfortunatly they dont mention dragging from one picture box to another.
