I have chat that comes from browser, but chat texts that people send for others cannot be found from website Source code, because chat is live with ajax or something.
So is there any kind of way to put my "Webbrowser1" find the word from that ajax/javascript page? Can't use Webclient, because SOURCE CODE doesn't show messages that appears in chat.
Ok, got a simple chat client working. Added code to the ~client~ so that when it receives certain codes it will change the color of the text..

It takes away all { codes like it should, but doesn't quite colorize correctly.

I have a datagrid view with 3 columns and variable rows. I have many rows so it is tough to know what is where so, the first row consists of names.I have a textbox in which I type in a name and hit a button. Doing this, I want the location of the that cell in terms of row.no and column.no.

First it might sound like an ordinary task but keep reading it isn't. I can't figure out how to find a phrase in a text file, and replace it with something else. Tried lots of things but always ending up with empty hands.
Suppose there's a text file in this order:
valueabc=6000.0000
valuettt=200.0000
valuexyz=7000.0000
I want to;
1) Find the phrase (e.g. valueabc) by scanning the whole text,
2) Replace the number that starts after "=" and ends before ".", namely "6000" in the middle with any number value i want.
I don't need the parts before "=" and after ".", only the number in the middle.
How would I go about reading a textfile, finding values and using the values in the program?Now I want the program to read the text file, find [1], use the first line after [1] as value for a variable, and the second line as value for another variable. After that I will run some code with the values and then do the same thing again for [2] etc.

I'm currently developing an app which essentially needs a way for me to search in a text box or file for a specific string, and extract the line on which that string appears on. It will be unique, and the syntax is the same on each line. It has basically 2 ID numbers, and is laid out like this:
123456|123456
So, I'd need to search for the first part before the |, and then get the line so I can get the bit after the |, which is the important bit for me.

Okay so i am dreadfully bored in my Visual basic class at school and thought it would be fun to write a lan chat program for all of my class mates to use. So I was wondering what would be the best way to go about it. I have read up on Winsock but i can't tell if it even exists for Vb 10 or if it is usable if none of our computers cant talk over the internet. If winsock is not a viable option then what would be an alternative.

I've finished my chat spammer, and it's not working the way it's suppose to (In Game). However, it works properly in chat rooms. Instead of it spamming once per line, it clumps the messages together.

i have a webbrowser and in it is the URL of the chat hosted by bravenet is there a way to have it so the user only see's textbox's and a button then it lodes? This is the chat URL so you can see how it works.

It is a chat Server that can interact with a mobile Platform.Now If a Exception occurs in OnStart Sub you have no way of knowing there was an exception other than the misleading messagebox.I've Pinpointed the Exception to my fairly Simple log Class that Writes to a log file. I have tried adding clientSocket.Close() in various places throughout the client and server with no luck. 1) I have a chat Program.
2) To access the Chat Program one has to put in ones Username and password in a Login Form.
3) TextBox1 = Username TextBox2 = Password
4) One clicks the "Log In" button.
5) HERE is the problem. I do not know how to check if the specific username and the password are correct. I have a file called "Users.dat". In there every valid Username(marked with a *) and it's Password(marked with a #) is contained e.g.*Username#Password.
I want my "Log In" program to check if the Username matches one of the usernames and if the username is found in the file, if the password provided is the same as the one standing behind the Username in the file.
6) If both the Username and Password are valid, the Chat Programs shows up.
I am developing a chat application using online connection to a mysql databbase. But i am facing a problem. After 10 minutes, MySQL closes all the chat connections because of the 600 seconds timeout (has been set by the host service i am using). I don't understand why is that happening cause every piece of my code which needs data from the database opens and closes the connection (i mean that it dosn't maintain the connection after the query's execution). If i .close() and .dispose() the connection, it still appears in mysql at sleep mode (it terminates only if i exit the program).

By enabled, I mean that scroll bar is actually enabled i.e. you can use the scroll bar to scroll the control, not just visible (I know we can check visibility by GetWindowLong)
