Using VB Import Multiple CSVs To Access Table, Verify, Remove CSVs From Folder?
Apr 9, 2010i have a series of CSV files that are posted to a specific web folder that I can specify in network places. Each file has same structure, lots of fields, and have consistent name schema "prefix-mm-dd-yyyy.csv". i need to use VB to process all these files, either individually or by consolidating into one file and appending to an existing table. i also need to somehow add a "download date" field to the process so i can show when the file(s) were appended. then i need to verify that it worked ok so i can then, still within VB, move the files out of the folder, such only the CSV files that have yet to be imported/appended are in the folder (so I don't have to guess about which files I have already uploaded and processed.i can figure out how to make a DO UNTIL loop, but i can't get the import statement right... nor can i figure out how to verify that the import happened in order to move (or remove) the source files.

Jul 5, 2010I have software for STOCK and SALES that can give me an Excel price list, I wanna write a small web app that will enable users to check prices, I don't have any access to that software's database, so I wanna import that Excel data (one worksheet, 5 columns, almost 10000 rows) into an MS SQL database table, keep in mind that the price list will change few time a month so I need to re-import that price list once its been updated.

I wanted to know if this was possible to do w/ out having to create the table and then loop through all the records to insert them into the table? Sep 30, 2009I am having an issue with my code. When I debug, I find no errors. When I test the code, it doesn't import into the table. I have checked to make sure the file is in the proper location and that the connection string is correct to sql. Here is my code, can anyone offer some thoughts? My second question would be, once I get this to work, how do I code it to perform the same task but for 5 other files and 5 other tables? Tables are in the same db.

Mar 7, 2010I'm making a image editor.I need the user to be able to import multiple images at once, and those images be displayed as thumbnails in the sidebar. How do I do both of these things?
Also, when the user clicks the thumbnail, it needs to display the full image in a large PictureBox.

The XML file shown below has seven days weather forecast. I do not need some of information from this file like PRECIPITAION information.

I am attempting to fill a form with multiple rows from an access table based off of a parameterized query. My query works fine but I don't want to return one row at a time, I want to return all rows that match my query in multiple text boxes. I know that I can use a datagrid view to accomplish this, but I would prefer the look of a textboxes on a form. I have read through many books and searched the internet forums but think I may just not know what to search for as nothing has worked yet. Can anyone point me in the right direction. So far I have tried setting the text box value to the row().item(), creating a different dataset for each row, and even setting variables for the results of the query to then be passed to the text boxes. Since none of this work, I don't really have any starting code to post. If I could just get a starting point I could work from there, so don't feel the need to code anything for me, just set me in the right direction.
Export XML Data From Multiple DataGridView And Import Again Later?
Apr 1, 2009I have several DataGridView controls populated with data. I want the ability to export all the data from these populated controls to 1 XML file. In effect the controls are populated after my project runs. The user will be given the option to export the data.
I then in turn want the ability to import this same data back to these empty controls at a later point in time. I would run my project in a different mode which would display the empty controls. The user would be given the ability to uploaded the XML file and repopulate the controls.

The first time i ran the code, it caused no error but no records where loaded into the table. The second time it causes the OleDbException "Table 'TEMP' already exists." The text file is comma delimited and it has exactly the same number of columns of the TEMP table.

Sep 28, 2009I have a VB project that reads data from SQL as well as pulls data from other files into SQL. I need to import a text file into SQL table; there is no headers in the file and table in SQL is already exists. I found a code in Forum and slightly modified it, but I'm still missing something. I'm not sure how to specify that the text file is delimited with "|" character? Also - since there is no headers - not sure how to import it into correct columns? On the code below I'm getting "Insert" syntax error; on prior version of the code I was getting "field F1 doesn't exist".
