We have an in home application that does sales order, and displays them on a webpage, in bulks of 50. Currently Right now, I can get the webpage HTML code, however I am not sure how i loop through that, and get the data I need. The HTML that i want to get looks like this
I'm trying to integrate a parental controls feature on my webbrowser. Now, the user creates a text file containing a list of the words they don't want their child searching. Here's an example of what would happen. The list looks like this (I wont use vulgar words):
dog cat baby fish tree
and the kid tries going to "treeandbabynectar.com". I want a messagebox to come up saying "Site blocked". I want it to be able to detect the tree and baby in treeandbabynectar and realize the text file contains the word tree and baby and block the site. Is this possible? How would I do this?
I got an app, which receives data via a R232 port, convert it to a string and on the other side I got a database, where the strings are saved. How can I find a way to compare the string with all strings in one database column and get back the another stringform the same row in this database. I never programmed a database
Basically I want to retrieve all possible substring matches with n characters from a string, Here's my initial code but it only returns 2 matches.[code]...
I want to get data from a txt file. Then use line by line in loop.Means loop get a line then execute it then get next line and so on, up to a limit. Now what I have to do?? "For" loop is runs only for integers..
I've been working on this RegEx for the past day or so and I think I have it worked out so that it returns the data I want. First a little background.I have a content editor that users will be able to edit web pages. They can format text, add links, etc.. standard content editor stuff. When they click save, the editor provides the ability to get the content (editor.Content) and put it into a string. What I want to do is get any links (<a> tags) and find out if they are internal or external links and if they are PDF files.
With this, I am able to separate the domain (if it has one) and the path out. Then, I loop through the matches...
dim matchColl as MatchCollection = Regex.Matches(editorContent, regExString) For Each m as Match in matchColl If m.Groups("domain").value <> myInternalDomain and m.Groups("domain").value <> "" then 'this is an external domain... do some stuff
[code]....
My question is this... the parts where I 'do some stuff' to the values, what would be the best way to get that back into my 'editorContent' string? I could probably put the editorContent into a StringBuilder and do a whole bunch of replaces on it, but is that very efficient? So, for example, with the PDF, I want to specify that it open in a new window (target="_blank") and for the external URL, add some javascript code into the onclick attribute.
i have to search a string for a few words eg, dog, cat, lion but i want regex to fail if lizard is found in the string even if it contains cat, dog or lion.ismatch(pass) "dog|cat|lion" "This is not your average cat!"ismatch (fail) ??? "This is not your average cat! It's a lizard."??? - here the regex statement is unknown word spaces and boundaries or lower/uppercase is not a concern. I run the string through Replace(" ", "").Trim(" ").ToLower before handover to Regex.
I have a List in Do-Loop. That List is collecting some information with programmatically. So, How can I know and end the loop if List repeated in loop. Code like this: Dim X As New List(Of String) Do ------ Loop While X IsNot Nothing My code can't quit from loop and it repeats the list from first string. I want to know how can I determine the last value of list to change script like this: Loop While X.Count = 10
How to check if string entered in a text box matches a field in a data table
I have a form with two text boxes for users to enter their Username and Password. When they enter their details and click the 'Login' button I want their details to be

I have a textbox which has a numeric value that changes - would it be possible to check if that value matches two numeric values in a text file? and if the value matches then to display some text in a label? The textfile only has fields displayed like so Horizontal 55 Vertical 16 So I would only need to check if the numeric field in textbox matches the two numbers in the second column. In the past I have use System.IO.File to create/delete/append to files but I havent come across anything like contains.
I have a string that contains multiple instances of a dollar sign followed by a positive number. I need to grab each instance out using regex. Here's an example of a string:
"This that $1 who $2" Here's what I have so far using vb.net: Dim wordSplitMatches As Match = Regex.Match("This that $1 who $2", "($d+)+")This works great for grabbing the $1 but how do I set it up so that I get multiple groups with all the matches in?
I have a somewhat unique problem that I have looked for an answer to and continually hit brick walls. The problem is this. I'm using vb.net to read a byte array from memory which total 32768 in length, which is converted to a string. The memory is the active console chunk in the game Call of Duty 4.
Makes the following statement about the code below:
**"The computer evaluates the loop condition in the Do...Loop statment to determine whether the loop instructions should be processed. In this case, the inputsales <> String.Empty condition compares the contenst of the input sales variable to the String.Empty value. As you know the String.Empty value represents a zero length, or empty, string if the inputsales variable is empty, the loop condition evaluates to True and the computer process the loop instructions. *If on the other hand the inputsales variable is not empty, the loop condition evaluates to false and the computer skips over the loop instructions.
Based on the code I think it is the opposite: ...that while the inputsales value is not empty it should evaluate to true and process the loop and if it is empty it should evaluate to false and skip the loop?
I'm using visual basic 2008. I have try this code and its work. But the problem is I want to read the text line until it reach line that contain "T". I can only produce the output if I write looping until "T12". I just want to write the code loop until it "T" not "T12".

I have for-next loop that loops 6 times around before exiting. Each time it loops it adds a small number and a space to a string so I end up with a string containing 6 numbers separated by spaces. Whats ends up happening is I get "555 555 666 666 777 777" when I should get "444 555 666 777 888 999". I know for sure it isn't the code that generates or applies the numbers because when you put a messagebox.show at the end of the loop it works perfectly, so it seems to me something is happening to quickly but showing the message box every loop gives it time to catch up. What can I do here?
Is it possible to create a loop using a string I am writing a program and I need it to output 3 letters ahead of the letter you input for instance if you input a then it outputs d and if you input u it outputs x, and also the same with capital letters A then D U then X and so on. I have writted the program the only problem is that when I input X I want it to output A but it outputs [ instead I need to create a loop where when I input X it starts the alphabet over again, and I need to know if it possible and if so how will I go about doing so.

Where i have " String " that dosnt work i need something in there i think, so that if 3 + any string characters it accepts as a name if that makes sence.[code]
I can't get the loop to work. The calculator is suppose to show how far someone goes for each hour increment (i.e. if they punch in 3 hours, it should show a number for 1 hour, 2 hours and 3 hours; if they punch in 10 hours it should show a number for 1 hour, 2 hours, 3 hours....etc. up to ten hours, etc.) I can't get it to show anything except for the total number of hours traveled and total distance.

I'm trying to fill a listbox with random alphaNumeric license plate numbers. I've succeeded in the random "plate" generator, but can't quite seem to figure out getting it to loop (500 times).[code]...
i have a string that looks like this -"1AL||9CA||34CO||196WY||..."i want to use a for loop or while loop, in which if i have an integer, it should parse this string and delete the value matching that integer.example for above string

I'm currently working on a greedy string tiling algorithm to find out matches between two strings, but there is something wrong with the string, they are not marked right
Here is the code am trying:
Sub GST2(ByVal str1 As Array, ByVal str2 As Array) Dim a, b, j, cnt, jj, max_a, max_b As Integer ' Do While maxmatch > 3
Trying to parse this and return the following 3 items: [code] Using this regex expression below I get the matches, but drop the leading "-" at the front of each grouping. I get the "-" in the middle of the group though. [code]
